Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
It seemed as though we were set for a big session today. We were going to kick at Alki hoping for a sunny day while the clouds were an omen of cancellations. So it turned into just Reilley and I kicking in my Cabana. Reilley kicked really strong and got many new things although basics. Of note, osis>dlo bsos, torgue>dlo, flip osis>duck clip.
For me: 2 9-5/s, 1 10-5's, new 4 6's, plus a couple of good starts into short strings. All about genuine right now. Seem to average 20 contacts 3 bails, which I'm not happy with yet. Working on bubba beaters, bed wetters, grifters.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
I was just talking to Warren Allen from our extended club in Bellingham. He was at a Bellingham late summer festival called Sh'Bang with Justin Blotsky.

First off let me add some perspective by reposting one of the videos I took back at a local festival while Green Cup was going on:

Warren is going to get good really fast. I certainly can't do double switches.
The best part -- the man on the rock who yelled "double legover"? None other than Eliot Piltz. Coincidences, eh? Anyway, they got to shred a little bit, but the bag flew in the water after a short time, cutting the session short.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
Well, I've been taking a little break from all the craziness that was this summer of shredding and competing. I'm starting into winter training now and looking forward to making some progress on locking in furious sets. I'm already getting genesis easier. I also have the next RCS Chronicles ready to go, but I'm sick of the skip shit that comes with every other video so I need to address that issue, which I will fix.
Once I am done with the RCS Chronicles VHS series, 3 videos to go, I have a lot to catch up on, mainly the Green Cup video and Mathias. After that I will probably take a break from video editing since I have put out so many in the past few months.
Nice things from last session:
Blurry merlin - haven't done that move in a long time, will probably lock it in since it's so easy and add it to my normal strings
nuclear tap>fusion
nuclear tap>reactor
Those were the links I wanted to do for the string and link video project but I wasn't really kicking enough to get my act together in time.
Anyway, just a quick update. I'm going to try and get back to being regular on videos and blog posts. Winter is coming...

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
Penske and Nate Linscott posted strings lately and I thought the blog was due for some action.
Here is a string.

My winter practicing has been focused on variety and links. I'm trying to keep it dense and interesting, which I find very hard. I have gotten too heavy in duck and spin clip mainly from street performing and am trying to keep them to a minimum. Although this string has a little bit of everything including those.

Sick string Justin!
What's your fearless record at now, btw? Have you reached your goal of 15? Also, weren't you going to make an insane video with your 8 add, and your 7-7 links? I'm still looking forward to that one.
More videos!

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
I thought I would make a video exemplifying what I am talking about with my game right now. This video only has 3 spin clip and no duck clip which makes me happy. I'm loving pdx eggbeaters and bed wetters right now. I'm putting more taps and atomic leg overs in my shuffle and doing more whirling swirl from toes and lots of gyro dlo's (inspired by Clavens). Just trying to do things that make strings interesting. I started out the video with showing my frustration with my new direction, then the video gets into some of the strings where I'm getting closer to where I want to be. I've also been loving coming up with 5-8 links to open strings that are diverse and creative, probably my favorite thing right now.

I am feverishly working on the Mathias footage to get some videos ready for the Christmas Calendar. As soon as that is done I will put together the video of all my 7's links and strings of the summer. Current fearless at 12, which I think will be included, along with many 10 fearless combos, beastly combos, etc.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
Quick update on what up with us. I've been enjoying the off season and have not been pushing anything footbag related. I've just been maintaining my game and strength training in the gym. I've been pretty unmotivated actually and I got a little burned out on doing videos from having done so many. I still have a Matthias video almost finished but I seldom work on it.
What I have been working on is the US Open and I'm dying to make the official post which I'm hoping to do by Feb 1st. I'm looking at the last week of June through the 3rd weekend of July. I have been working with a soft drink company (Golazo) up here who works with the Sounders and has a great facility. The problem is they only have the place leased through April and don't know if they are moving. In the mean time I am working on my other plan which is to hold it in a park called Cal Anderson up on Capitol Hill, central to everything hip in Seattle.
I just want to plant the seed here for anyone to see it that I am working on USO and to start planning for it around that time.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
The club has been playing a fun game lately. As Reilley mentioned take any set concept and hit legover, pickup, mirage, illusion, clipper, down, and osis on both sides. The guys are getting really good and pushing it to to new creative levels. Dan hit all the open moves out of dlo. The second level is to hit whirl, drifter, and dlo both sides for a core concept. They have been hitting the open and stepping game every session. I have been doing the atomic game level 1 & 2 since that is my weakest concept.
Heard back from the event (USO) permit people today and one of our days doesn't work. Have to figure out rescheduling, most likely the site and not the date but we'll see.

I think that speaks for itself.
Dan now lives closer to the rest of us, and it's really motivated everyone (well at least me) into kicking more. We're going for three club sessions every week. It's already paying off. Justin is giving us awesome workouts to do mid-session. I am making big pushes. Scott's made it to a couple sessions lately. Trevor is getting more and more consistent.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
The guy's have been really committed to the training regiment lately and it's paying off. Lots of new moves lately, Trevor hit blurry whirl, Reilley hit flip phoenix, Dan hit ripstein. I look forward to watching them put it together. They are kicking stronger all the time.
Today's work out during session:
pre-session arms
21-15-9 bent over isolation curls and alternating pushups non stop
during session
jump rope (today's record, 41 double unders)
50 burpies (5 rounds of 10)
100 weighted crunches (5 rounds of 20)
hand stands against a wall (5 rounds of 30 seconds)
I have been liking Anssi's new videos with a new link of the session, so I did a couple.
furious ss leg over>smog bs
fury>smog bs
reactor>tomahawk bs
lots of atomics lately and they are creeping into my game.
Felt pretty good today, hit a combo I have wanted for a long time, fog>smog>pig beater>smog>ss symp whirl
finished the session with 10 fearless, just my usual combo, bs blur>motion>b whirl>spin duck down>b whirl>ps whirl>spin whirl>spin duck osis>pdx blender>motion. I guess it had 2 motions, whoops.

Re: RCS IN DA CLUB
Dan is getting more new moves, vortex and whirling swirl a ton. My game has felt stagnant lately so watching Dan, Reilley, and Trevor having great sessions and getting better has been really fun for me.
I'll be busking again soon. The Sounders have started their regular season, just waiting for the weather to get tolerable. Looking forward to it. My game always pics up when I perform a lot.
Pre-session work out:
5 minute treadmill warm up
injury prevention resistance training shoulders and knees
Bench
Hang Cleans
dips
Session work out: abs
5 rounds
weighted crunches 15
weighted v-sit twists 30
reverse crunches 15
Edit: wanted to mention something funny, the work outs have been so extensive during footbag practice Dan lost 4 lb's in 3 hours. He's on a mission to get his weight down and he's been working really hard on his footbag game and my workouts. Can't wait for all his hard work to really pay off. He's on his way.
