JDill's Progress

Post by JDill »

Well, I've only recently made the transition from hacking to footbagging, and progress is slow, but it's still progress.

Today I made myself do toe stalls (alternating feet) until I was able to hit 10 in a row each, so 20 altogether. This took about 25 minutes, but having finished felt so rewarding. After, I did the same thing with inside stalls, which surprisingly went a lot quicker, about 15 minutes, maybe due to the newfound energy and confidence in achieving my previous goal.

I then went and hacked with some friends for a while before lunch, but nothing worth mentioning happened for me there.

My goal for tomorrow is to continue working on the same basic stalls, and I hope within a week begin working on consistent clippers.

Sorry for boring everyone with my lame fundamentals, hopefully I'll be shredding like the rest of you soon!

I'm in southwest Missouri, in the US. Not really a big footbagging community out here, but hopefully it'll grow. Thank you for the kind words!

JDill,

I don't know anything about SouthWest Missouri, but...

This guy ---

lives and plays in Columbia, MO, and he's a legend of the game and footbag Hall-of-Fame member,

And this guy ---

lives in Tulsa, OK, and he's a real cool guy and bad mutha with that footbag.

I've never been to your part of the country, but I've often wished I could kick it with Derrick Fogel and Luis Monhollan.

Don't worry about boring us. Your level isn't important in reading this as what you write. Throw some vids or pics up if you get a chance, but if not, I'm glad ur kicking.

I'm about 4 hours out from Columbia, but I'll likely be going there in about 16 months for college. I'm in Nixa, about 15 minutes from Springfield Missouri, if you know where that is.

Today I believe I can say that I am now consistent with my clippers! I drop them every now and then, but I'd say I stick 'em about 70 percent of the time! Now my plan is to start working on getting my sets a little bit more accurate, so that I can hopefully start stringing stalls together into something that resembles shredding in some way! I'm off to bed for now, but planning on doing some drilling in the morning.

Speaking of going to bed!!!!...

Do 50-100 clippers right before bed for a few weeks, on both sides. I did it a while ago and my clippers were like "bitch, please, we're easy now. you don't even need to try anymore to hit us." So yeah, trust me, it'll work, just stay dedicated to it.

Great to see new players popping up here and there. Good luck with everything. And meet up with Derek Fogle and/or Luis Monhollon. Those guys are sick. You could learn a ton from them. Looking forward to keeping up with this blog and seeing you progress.

Not a lot to report recently as I've been preparing and eventually competing in Debate Districts. The bad news is I appear to have lost my clipper. The good news is I'll be going to Nationals in Lincoln Douglass debate this summer. Hoping to start working on my dexes more, if I can get my clippers back down.
