Haha thanx Hoagie Beets. But more thx for the drunk dial the other night. :P Hope you found Pete ok!

So I played at this "Buskerfest" thing 2 days ago and got a really good repsonse from the crowd. Lots of hacky slackers wanting to kick with me and a guy in sandals who recognized the Rod Lavers and knew some tricks names like swirl, pdx mirage, etc. Didn't get to it anything very cool since it was so crowded and I was just goin for long flowy strings.

Yesterday I had a solo session. My legs were really tired from playing for the past 4 or 5 days in a row. Also I dont think the 15-20 mile bike ride really helped, but what are ya gonna do. The only highlights that come to mind were:
-ss butter>ripwalk>rpt 20 contacts
-mobius>pdx mirage bs
-spin duck clip>swirl bsos
-dod>step ss clip bsos

Not sure if I should play today or give my legs a break... I guess we'll see how I'm feelin in a couple hours.

Nice job on Mobius> Pdx Mirage bs. It sounds easy, but you definitely need to have a solid Mobius for that to work out well. I've never hit it. I'm gonna try it next session. That's the only highlight I like ...Everything else was probably the :P

Thanks Nick! And yes, everything else was the THE.

Let my legs rest the past 2 days. Went and saw "The Place Beyond the Pines" or something like that the other night. Starred Ryan Gostling, Bradley Cooper, and the psycho kid who gets too powerful for his own good from Chronicle. Really good movie, but kinda cheesy ending. Also went to the driving range a couple times this summer and I'm hitting the ball WAY more consistently than in past years. Super excited to play 9 holes next weekend.

Anywho, footbag! Highlights:
-39 tiltless warmup
-ripwalk>spin clip>ripwalk>gyro clip>rpt>15 contact string
-ripwalk>far osis>ripwalk>osis>rpt 11 contacts
-far osis>step ss clip>osis>step ss clip>rpt 13 contacts
-spinning osis>step ss clip bsos
-ducking osis>step ss clip bsos
-spinning ducking osis>step ss clip bs
-mobius>pdx mirage bsos
-toe near blink>grifter>20 contact string

Ugggggh I still suck at stepping!

Rained today so no footbag. But yesterday was sunny so I played up by the Cobbs Hill Resevoir. There were a buncha skaters tryin to olle a 3 stair and some of them were really good. A couple were able to ollie up, manual the length of the the platform I played on (which was about 20 feet) and then ollie back down the other side of the platform (3 stair). Was really fun to watch them. Then when I started kicking, I heard "Oh shit! Yo check that dude out..." and then had 3 different skaters ask if they could take a video. :D

Anywho, here are the 'lights:
-35 tiltless warmup
-ss butter>osis>blur>rpt>string
-osis>stepping far osis>rpt>string
-ss butter>osis>schmoe>rpt 20 contacts
-butter>pdx drifter>pdx mirage>rpt 11 contacts (what happened pdx drifter???)
-ducking pdx mirage>maverick bsos in a 17 contact string
-28 contact cooldown string (weeeeeaaak)

It's supposed to rain all week :( so Idk if I'm gonna kick again for a while. Might try and play in the basement, but that always sucks...

It sounds like you're working on stepping out of osis. Here's my favorite drill for that: ripwalk-stepping far osis rpt. Just do as many contacts as you can.

Hey thanx for that drill Ken. I'll give it a go later today. Also I finally added u on TF2, so now we gotta play sometime!

Also thx for that drill Pete. If I can enough contacts of Ken's drill I'll go for yours as well (or even if I dont get Ken's I'll try it anyway :P ). Also, WOOO! MY SHIT!

So I had a solo session nearly a week ago. I think it was Thursday. Meant to write about it but just forgot. So ya, highlights:

-43 tiltless warmup
-spin clip>spin duck clip>spin butter>gyro clip>rpt>spin osis>inspin clip>string (10 unique spin tricks! :D )
-gyro clip x26, x33, x8, x21, x20 (rally style to 100)
-ripwalk x8
-ripwalk>step far clip>step far clip>rpt 11 contacts
-spin butter>barfly>rpt>good string
-butter>dive mirage>butter>duck mirage>rpt first try :D

I got a text from Nick near the end of my session and ended up playing for like a half hour longer than I meant to just tryin stupid Nick drills which are actually really cool. Didn't complete any of them but managed to hit a lot of the links on bs. I'd like to try some again today but my main focus is gonna be those drills from Ken and Pete. Anywho, time for some lunch and trailer park boys. Holy fuck, boys!

Thanx mang, hope ur kickin it regularly as well! Also, how's the passport situation going?

So I had a short solo session last Wednesday and have just been busy since then. Although, since I've been takin notes of my session highlights, I have them right here:

-41 tiltless wamup
-step far osis>ripwalk>rpt
-torque>ripwalk>rpt
-swifter (new trick :!: [only on strong stepping])
-dimwalk>blur>rpt :P
-parkwalk>ripwalk>blur>rpt>dimwalk>blizzard>dimwalk>drop (first try :D )

Spent the end of my session tryin to sauce mobius bc I like to end every session with that, but my gyro or torque or something was just fuckin off. So I hit vortex bsos instead. Meh. Supposed to be in the 80s the next few days, but its also supposed to rain. :? If it ends up being sunny then I'm definitely gonna kick bc its been way too long.

So, I'll take that as a "no" on the passport front :P

Thanx Nick. As for worlds, I was thinkin we should get a big group of ppl together and maybe get one of those 3-bedroom rooms? I looked at the lodging options briefly about a week ago, and it seemed like the cheapest way to go about it was like stuff 10-15 ppl in a 3-bedroom. I don't remember though, gotta look at it again. But ya, u and Toolan wanna room with me? Know of anyone else interested?

In hacky sack life, I havent had much time to kick lately. I just got back from Lake George last night, and while I was there I hit a ripstein at a minigolf course, and muted ss rev swirl on a tiny island in the middle of the lake. That about sums up my footbag stylings in the last week. Anywho, I plan to kick more during this week.

NOT FOOTBAG RELATED
Now then, to document my weekend at Lake George.
Wednesday night: I'm playin leagues with my friend Andrew and he says "we should go to Lake George this weekend." So I respond "Lets rage!"
Friday morning: I get a text, "We doin this? The weather sucks, its gonna be cold all weekend, cept Monday." I respond, "Let's rage!"
Friday afternoon: We play 2 games of Leagues together then take off for the cottage around 4. I get there around 9 and find Andrew cocooned in blankets and sleeping bags and he tells me there's no heat or hot water. 8O

Naturally, we decided to go to the only store open to grab supplies; walmart! We stock up on essentials: Beer, pretzels, doritos, beer, ice cream, gatorade, dr thunder, beer, and some movies from the red box (The Campaign, and Dragonheart). We got back, watched the Campaign (pretty funny) and then pass the fluck out.

Wake up the next morning with 2 blankets missing and am FREEZING MY ASS OFF. It was sooooooo cold. We ended up going to this place, "Hot Biscuit" for breakfast (and also lunch/dinner, and also all subsequent days) and enjoyed the warmth. Asked eachother "what're we gonna do since its rainy and cold?" and drove to walmart and got 2 more movies (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and Seven Psychopaths) and bought a puzzle. Andrew was like "should we also start playing Magic?" and I was like "Nah" so we didn't buy any magic cards.
Went back to the cottage.
Cocooned up.
Broke out the puzzle and put on Dragonheart in the background.
Found all the edge pieces.
Something was fucked up.
Wondered if we were missing pieces.
Gave up on puzzle and watched Seeking a Friend....
Was disappointed by Seeking a Friend.... Not as funny as we were hoping.
Tried to turn on heater, but it proved to be impossible.
Commented on how Ice cream was a smart buy. (I got oreo cookies n cream mint 8) )
Worked on puzzle.
Made little progress.
Tried fixing heater some more.
Made zero progress.
Watched 7 Psychopaths (Really really good)
Pass the fluck out.

Woke up Sunday morning missing one blanket. Not as bad as previous morning, but still awfully cold. Anywho, we went to Hot Biscuit for breakfast again. Got my bacon and cheese omelette and decided we would go into the village area that day since it was less rainy and slightly less cold. We walked around the village for an hour looking at knives, and stuff, got some of the BEST FUDGE EVER. Seriously, we walked by the place and it smelled like heaven. I asked if they sold air freshners that smelled like their store, but alas, nay. :( But the fudge! Fuck! So damn good! :D Then we went and played mini golf. I fuckin love minigolf. Something about hittin the ball off the course and getting unorthodox holes in 1 is just awesome. After minigolf it started to rain so we headed back to the cottage but made a quick pit stop at walmart and red boxed Life of Pi. Andrew asked "Do we wanna start playing Magic yet?" And I retorted "Nay." Went back, watched Life of Pi (super good) then worked on puzzle a little and popped in Patch Adams (one of the 3 movies Andrew has at his cottage) in the background. FINALLY FIXED THE BORDER! :) Made a good deal of progress on the puzzle. When Patch Adams finished we put in The Shining (another of the 3 movies) and finally finished the puzzle near the end of The Shining. Shook hands and congratulated each other on a job well done and passed the fluck out.

Woke up Monday morning with all 3 blankets! 8O It's super warm outside! Lets go to Hot Biscuit! OK! We got breakfast then went to walmart and bought a frame.
Andrew: "Magic?"
Doug: "Nope."
Went back to the cottage and framed the puzzle. Andrew had to mow the lawn, so I borrowed his kayak in the meantime. I fuckin LOVE kayaking. So peaceful and a good workout. When Andrew finished mowing we took his canoe over to this little island in the middle of the lake. We smoked cigars on the canoe ride. It was fan-fucking-tastic. Drank some burrs on the island and shot the shit then canoed back. It was getting late so we decided to clean up and sober up on the dock a little. Andrew drew a tree while I played guitar, poorly. Finally we parted ways. Written down, it doesnt sound like much, but I had a lotta fun.

TL;DR
Went to Lake George on a whim. It was freezing cold all weekend. Drank lots of beer. Solved a puzzle in 3 days. Watched 7 movies. FUDGE. minigolf. kayaking. canoeing. Thrift Shop. No Magic. "That'll calm mah nerves." "Call me a farmer bc I'm here to plow."

I would SO play minigolf with ya Ken!

Also, hell ya that sounds like a solid room so far Nick. Wasn't Anton planning on going to worlds too? I wonder what his plan is. Also, YES i do need new lavers. Guess its time to scour the internet for deals.

So I decided to have a session today around 6pm but when I went outside the sky was grayer than that stupid book that women seem to like. I checked the forecast and it wasnt supposed to rain til around 9 but I decided to play it safe and just kick in my driveway. Here's what happened:

-44 tiltless wamrup
-step far osis>ripwalk>rpt 5 contacts
-downpour
-grab computer and footbags and run inside
-put my shit in my room and feel cheated out of a session
-look out on back porch and decide theres enough room for me to kick
-grab computer and footbags and head toward porch
-back porch is beginning to flood from driveway runoff
-walk away dejectedly and make a sandwich :(

Still haven't had a real session in a while. Maybe this is a sign that I need to order new shoes.

So I tried to have another solo session today. here's what happened:

-Skipped past my usual warmup and just started hitting some easy guiltless links like spin clip>step far clip>rpt>string, and whatnot.
-Then I managed far symp swirl from toe and clip bsos.
-"Hmm I remember I used to be good at butter swirl" and manage flip toe ss butter swirl pretty easy. Then hit it on strong side. Then hit toe far butter swirl on bs
-Think "Man, I should learn whirling swirl!" and come kinda close after 5 or 6 attempts.
-Decide "Better warm up my whirl" and hit whirl x10
-"Alright, the time has come!"
-Foot whirling swirl 3 times in a row
-Completely obliterate my swirling calf with my whirling leg and fall to the ground in agonizing pain
-Struggle not to curse in public
-While holding onto railing and writhing in pain and thinking "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck FUUUCKKKKKK!!!!" I see a cute girl on rollerblades go by, so I smile and say "Hey how's it goin" and then immediately go back to looking and feeling pissed off.

My calf still really fuckin hurts and I can't bend my foot up or walk on it. I had to call my roommate just to give me a ride home, which was really cool of him to do. Gonna have to buy him a beer.

Sooooo fuck you footbag. Gonna rest my leg for a couple days and hopefully I can put pressure on it soon.

Haha, there's 2 reasons it's funny that that^^^ was the last post in my blog, Mike.

1) I got cut off by a drunk driver while riding my bike about 4 or 5 weeks ago and fucked up my right knee and elbow, and strained my neck and had a good egg on top of my head for a while (I know, my fault for not wearing a helmet  ). So, I haven't played at all recently.

2) I heard you rolled your ankle last night.

Luckily, I heard your roll wasn't that bad, and also my knee is all better now. Hope your feeling better, buddy.

So since my knee is feelin better I had a short session today to see where I was at...

-55 tiltless warmup
-toe near muted rev swirl>pdx drifter>string bs
-pdx drifter>blink>string bs
-some decent strings with things like torque bsos, spin duck clip bsos, gyro weave bsos, and spin duck butter bsos.

Gonna try n play again tmrw.

WORLDS!!!
