Re: Nick Polini: THEs Everything

Post by F[uns]tylin' Eclectic »

Had a dope ass session with Toolan, Hahahahalis, Jackdong, Fingernails, Benny, and new guy Tyler tonight.

WHAT EVERYONE HIT!

Toolan and I drilled together toward the end of it, Toolan got Blender> Blender, some good Spinning Clippers, some BSOS Double Orbits, Drifter x9, and Double Switch b2b.

Corey hit Ducking Pdx Mirage, his first flip Swirl, and some other good runs and stuff.

Jackson had some really decent runs with Dimwalk, Ducking Mirage, some Osis, BSOS Pdx Mirage, and his 4th Spinning Clipper.

Jeremy hit some Whirls, and messed with some older concepts and whatnot. He's really working on getting back to where he was before he got injured, he really hasn't lost much. I think he went off to drill some swirls at one point too, which looked awesome.

Ben's game is really coming along. he hit a short but sweet run with some insides, toe stalls, Clipper and Osis. He also hit his first Swirl, Toe Gyro Clipper, Front Sole> op Toe Pound and some other stuff, like work with flip clipper. He said his friend Tayler, who we met last time, was really getting the hang of Freestyle and he can do a bunch of magic hop toe stalls with bad skate shoes.

And, finally, our newest addition, Tyler Dubree. Jeremy and I met him at a local fair. He said he's been wanting to get into it for a while now but didn't know anyone who played unti he bumped into us. He can now hit Mirage bs, ATW bs, pretty long kickless runs of insides, outsides, and toes, and Clipper bs. He's really coming along. He just needs Lavers, which he plans on getting once he gets his next paycheck.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, we kicked near my place but it was so hot afterward, we jumped in the river next to the shred spot. It was awesome doing a non-footbag thing with some good footbag friends. Jeremy and Ben swam all the way across the river and found some cool vine to swing off of, Toolan and I chilled in the shallower parts, up to our stomachs, Corey pussied out and stayed onshore yelling stuff at us about how there and fish in the river and his mom got bit by one and died one time, Ben tried to dock me, Toolan went for a dive when we least expected it, Ben swam into my piss trail by accident, and we all had a great time of fun in the river. We planned a kayak trip there sometime soon too, John Goode should come down for that and bring his Kayak.

Session Highlights:

 Double Switchover b2b! (For Ivan)
 Blender> Pdx Blender bs
 Drifter x13! Certainly a new record for me!
 Finally learned flipside 2-bag juggling! Can do like 5 contacts.. Also hit weakside foot juggle x5> op toe stall with 1 bag> strongside 2 bag juggle x5.. I was stoked on that.
 had a really long run of BOPS and some spins and ducks, where Toolan called out different Pixie tricks and I hit them midstring. I remember Pixie op Clipper, Maverick bsos, Magellan, Smear, Pixie ss Clipper, then I dropped on Pixie ss Mirage. Up around 25 contacts total maybe?

Really fun session with the guys. After the session and the swim, we cam back to my house and looked at my cats, since Jeremy, Ben, Corey, and I are all cat people. Toolan sat awkwardly in the chair across the room, wanting so badly to leave :P Just kidding. But he was distant from my cat. I think he actually hates all animals because he has no soul :P Jk, Mike. Man, I can't stop ripping on Mike today :D

In other news, I found a pair of Red Lavers in my size on ebay (with Ben's help) and phuckin' so bought them. they should be here a day after my birthday, which is May 24th, this Friday. Crazy I'm going to be 23. I feel old. I might go make myself a bowl of plainasssugarfree ass-oatmeal, just to get ready for being old. Yeah, that sounds great right now.

Edit: Just realized I'm 22, turning 23, on the 24th! Ken might appreciate that little pattern.

River shenanigans sound fun. How far is Toolan from you guys?

Weird how hard that is, right? What's kinda helped me a little bit is doing the juggle where you alternate feet, and once that gets comfortable, it gets a little easier to just do the flips in a row. Make sense? Give it a shot.

River shenanigans were seriously a blast :)

And I'll give that juggle thing a shot, Ken. Sounds like it works, if I hear you correctly.

Had a session with Nick Pasquarello today. I swear his game is fucked up, or he's lying to me because every time he comes home to visit, he gets so much better and says he hasn't been playing much lol. He was hitting like 10 Guiltless today sometimes. And his Tiltless really looks improved. He hit Stepping Legover> Delusion first try... Bizzarre link. Anyway, good to catch up with him.

Highlights:

 Pixie Blender> Pdx Blender (so stoked on that!)
 Reaper> Torque bs
 Double Switchover b2b> butterfly> Reaper> butterfly Flip Reapdrop
 Spinning Refraction BSOS (first time hit on flip lulz)
 Symp Whirling Swirl> Pdx Torque
 Flip Swifter (First time on flip)
 AlPInE MOObIuSSSSS!!!!! (brand new, been trying for a year or so, every few sessions)

Tomorrow, I'm having a birthday session with Nick P and whoever else wants to come. Going to be filming a disturbing Fearless 3-Pack that I actually footed today. I'll be sure to hit it tomorrow.

My birthday wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Had a big blow up with my mom. I'm thinking about moving out in the near future. I can't live with her breathing down my neck and telling me I'm not good enough anymore. I'm so sick of her shit. Anyway, the only good part of my birthday was my birthday session with Drew Krause (back from the dead!), Ivan, Ryan, Tyler, and Nick Pasquarello. Thanks again to these guys coming out. Also thanks to Nadiah for helping me through some shit. Special thanks to some people who called me and/or made me a birthday session video (George, Khoa, and Nate.. which I'll post below). Also Kevin tried calling but I missed his call. I'll call you tonight dude. Thanks for trying though. And thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday..

Highlights:

-Predator (Heavily inspired by Nate)
-Double Switchover b2b again
-Double Switchover> Pixie ss Clipper bs
-Pdx Torque> Pdx Blender
-Long run with Vortex, Gyro DLO, Gyro Whirl, and Mobius
-Spinning Pdx DLO bs
-So painfully close to Smoke BSOS

George:

These were great, thanks guys.. Really cheered me up.

Khoa's reactions are awesome. Sorry your birthday wasn't the best. I've enjoyed being 23 and I hope the same for you. We'll get really good at footbag this year. If I was in better financial shape I'd say we should get an east PA ShredHaus going, but unfortunately the money isn't there and probably won't be until I'm out of school. Let's shred either Wednesday, Thursday, or after 4 on Friday.

Edit: How does alpine mobius work? Surging ducking osis? Or like gyro diving torque?

So I had a little session by myself today... Hit some of the dopest shit I've ever hit in a solo session..

Highlights:

 Drilled Pdx Blender> Spinning Clipper bs a bunch of times
 Pdx Blender> Spinning Osis bs
 Food Processor> Spinning Osis bs
 Food Processor BSOS!!!! First BSOSed 6 ADD! Maddd stoked on that.

Motion to spender is awesome. Based off your other highlights, do you think you could do food to spender? Cause that could open up doors to a beast combo.

I'm guessing probably like gyro ducking torque. Like the non symp version of this:

Ken, all I'm going to say is that I hit my first 6> 6 link the other night. I'm not going to reveal what it was just yet until I get a Beast on tape. I'm not trying to be cocky, but realistically, I think I can get one before Worlds. And yeah, sorry Toolan, forgot to answer that.. Ken is right, it was that minus the symp.. that's ridiculous, Ken haha So big.

So, I woke up in this morning feeling stuffed and shitty. Put my shred shorts on and then pet my kitty. Hear a knock on the door, there's a box on the floor. Sit down with a knife, cut the box that's brown, open it up, F***ING CH**ST! Red Lavers I found!

That should be sung to the first part of Tik Tok by Ke$ha...

Anyway, yeah, Red Lavers came to my doorstep! Stoked as shit... Modded them already. Then broke them in with a mini drill session on my front porch since it's raining...

Highlights:

 Ducking Butterfly BSOS
 Diving Butterfly BSOS
 Weaving Butterfly BSOS
 Zulu Butterfly BSOS
 Ducking Mirage BSOS

 Weaving Mirage BSOS
 Zulu Mirage BSOS
 Ducking Osis BSOS
 Diving Osis BSOS
 Weaving Osis BSOS
:arrow:Zulu Osis BSOS

If you have Lon's shoes, might as well try to own ducks, dives, weaves, and zulu :D

Doug, you should get new Lavers lol You're almost as bad as Toolan about buying new shred shoes hahaha Mike took the leap, so can you. Glad you liked my song.. and my highlights :P Thanks for the kind words man. I'm trying to get.. ya know.. uh.. good.. before Worlds lol I had a dream the other night that I took Lon Smith's spot in that circle shred video of Lon, Jorden, and Penske at Worlds... It was awesome... then I put on rollerblases or something and did some tricks and Jorden and Jim were going crazy for it lol So I hope that happens plus Lon, minus the rollerblades :P

Been at my grandma's for a few days, helping her out around the house and garden. She bought me a Pitcher plant for helping her out, which has 9 Pitchers! My other Pitcher plant hasn't done so well and lost all of its pitchers, so maybe this one will be healthier.

But yeah, when my grandma goes to bed, I go out to shred..

Highlights:

 Drilled Pdx Blenders last night. 10 each side completely frozen on the osis for 5 seconds. That worked well because I hit some cool stuff to flip P Blender...
 Hit Drifter> Drifter> P Blender (strong only) footed flipside, but I'm not QUITE ready for that yet, so I had self control and I moved on to something else... which is a good highlight in itself since I'm stubborn as fuck about moving onto something when I can't hit the first thing within a handful of tries... I'll get it eventually...
 Spinning Clipper, Spinning Butter, Pixie ss Clipper, Pixie Muted Clipper (all of these tricks separately linked to) > Flip Pdx Blender
 Watched a lot of Lon footage recently, and I noticed little tricks to hit Pdx Torques, Drifters, and Double Downs. I tried them all and actually made leaps and bounds with those tricks. Hit the cleanest Pdx Torque last night.
 ended session on DOD> Pdx Blender bs, which I was really happy about, because each one uses either my weak side p blender or weakside DOD. So that was nice. Can't wait to hit more double downs.. I definitely hit my best Barfly last night using that trick I discovered.

Conclusion: Watch Lon's videos.

Edit: Fuck, I turned into Post Master General.

My grandma opened her pool today and I figured it'd be a great way to pop the pool's seasonal cherry if I had a session next to it then jumped the eff in afterward... So I did just that...

Highlights:

 My big one that I'm most proud of (which I'll bold because I'm so proud of it): Barrage> Double Over Down*rpt Like fuck yes.. one step closer to Lon.
 Pdx Torque> Reverse Swirl bs
 Practiced some Inspins, hit Osis> Inspinning Osis bs, which I've done before, so nothing special really.
 Schooled some Whips for once, since I think they'll help me hit Double Downs better (Am I right on this? I'm just guessing, but if anyone has advice on how to get good at Double Downs, please let me know because I really want them to be mine)
 Tried Spinning Dyno b2b a bunch but couldn't manage it just kept footing it, but from both sides at least.. I'll hit that eventually, not worried about it right now, though I'm so god damn close to hitting it.
 Ended session with a nice Flip Barfly> Pool Jump> ghost Barflies in the pool... Jesus, I have no life outside of footbag lola

These red Lavers are really having a Lon Smith-esque effect on my game... also probably doesnt help that all I've been doing is watching Lon's videos.. Off to bed. Might do a session in Bethlehem with Toolan tomorrow.

Quick Post:

Session: Toolan, Corey, everyone else bailed.

Highlights:

 Merkon> Paradon *rpt
 Spinning Clipper> Barfly *rpt
 Rubber Man First time since my injury.. 3rd time ever
 Lon style ducking/diving/zulu/weaving runs
 Osis> Inspinning Osis BSOS

Very happy with session.

Toolan: Cool guy
Corey: Cool guy

Corey laid on ground with bag on inside stall. Back hit pavement, made a fart sound. Thought he actually farted. Gets up and sets bag into a string. Props.

Toolan hits Merkon> Paradon *rpt then gives me cucumber water and a pizza.

Kicking again this week.

Had a poop day. Had to get out of the house. Hopped on my bike and rode several miles with a pocket full of footbags and Lavers on my feet. Rode real far and stopped once I found a random sufficient place to kick. Found one. Nice parking lot at some school. Drilled...

Highlights:

Greetings Footblogia,

Took a trip to PSU to visit Nadiah and look for jobs and go to the career center and play some footbag. Kicked with Khoa and Nate the other day. Awesome awesome awesome session. Let me know my drilling has been playing off.

Highlights:

 Singularity> Pdx Torque> long run
 Spender BSOS!!!! 2nd BSOS 6 ADD
 Nate gave me the greatest footbag compliment I've ever received, "Your Eggbeaters look like Lon's." 5 small words that made me just about piss my mouth out. That doesn't make sense, but that's how I felt. Soooo, I'm gonna do Eggbeaters more :D
 Best run of my life... Start off with like 7 contacts of Diving/Ducking/Weaving/Zulu clipper/mirage/butter/osis, Spinning Ducking Butter BSOS, Double Orbit, Mobius, Spinning Ducking Osis, some pixie and step shuffle and Pdx Blender (bsos? can't remember)
 Dimmier! First time.. one side :(
 Flip Down Double Down!!!! Oddly, probably my favorite highlight lol I love this trick.
 Bubbabeater BSOS... never hit this on either side before yesterday :P
 Hatchet bs, new on both (strong side was a little thin)
 Near Flux bs! New on both!
 Flip Tomahawk.. first time clean
 Flail BSOS (flip was ugly)
 Forque! First time... one side :(
 Void BSOS!!!! Stoked on that one.
 Strong Pdx Whirl> Pdx Blender> Hand catch> Weak Pdx Whirl> Pdx Blender> Hand Catch
 Spinning DLO bs 2nd time hitting both
 Spinning Eggbeater.. one side (never hit it before)
 Gyro Illusion BSOS... never hit either of them before yesterday! Definitely a new favorite of mine :3
 Whirl War! 3 separate times! Only hit this once before lol Working this til my P whirls get doped.
 Red Ribbon x3

I had a really great session, needless to say. I can't wait to drill more :P Might actually film this week at some point, since it's been forever and a day and now my game is much different. My gf made a cool little flower arrangement in a circle so I can shred inside it, so I'll probably film there.

Thanks a lot, Ken! Red Ribbon = Zulu Clipper

Had a mini session with Nadiah yesterday. She hit her first 2 Legovers where her foot was off the ground lol She filmed some good drills from me too:

Highlights:

 Rubberman! 4th time hit, 1st time anyone's witnessed it! :P (filmed)
 Whirl War.. 5th time, getting easier (filmed)
 Barfly> Spinning Clipper *rpt.. 2nd time (filmed)
 Barrage> DOD *rpt.. 2nd time (filmed)
 Pdx Illusion> Pixie ss Clipper> Twirl bs, hand caught, one after the other.

Might try to film a video today.

hai.

Highlights:

 Marius bsos yay! 3rd BSOS 6 ADD. Wow. Bsos'ed 3 6's in a month. Have a beast in mind too.
 Far Motion bsos also yay!
 SECRET FOOTAGE LINK DOPE.. Video coming tonight.
 Uh, well... I was going to keep something a secret until I actually hit my first beast, but I don't think my first beast will have this link in it... So, a few weeks ago, I hit Spender> Spender That was my first 6 ADD> 6 ADD... My beast of choice has Spender in it, but not to Spender again, anyway, cat's out of the bag.

Gradionships is this weekend! Stoked!

Edit: Oh and I just had a mini session where I finally hit flipside Flurry. Jesus. Took long enough. Any tips on Flurry? I technically haven't hit it on strong side, I hit Furious Legover on strong side :/ That trick effs me up so bad but I want it in my game because once my legs figure it out, I think it shouldn't be too hard.

Edit: Oh yeah, also hit Terrage BSOS
