hi, i have a question to the visa stuff:
do the players get an invitation from the organisation and then we have to pay the visa at the embassy in our country.
or do we have to get a normal tourist visa?
thanks!

Hi Alex,

Well, there are two options:

1) You can get normal tourist visa. It will take about week or so. You can try to find a travel agency and they can take care of all necessary things.

2) You can apply to "sport" visa, as a competitor. Andrey Romanov will send you an invitation. This kind of visa will take less time and easier to get.

I would recommend the 2 option. For invitation we need your Name, Surname and passport number.
Please also check Russian Ambassy web site: http://austria.mid.ru/de_DE/web/austriade/consulat

Cheers

Accommodation!!!
As far as accommodation goes, there are two options that we are
offering to you. The first one is Comrade Hostel
(http://www.comradehostel.com) located only 300 meters
away from metro, so it will not take you more than 30 mintues to get
to the event site. The rate is 600 rubles (around 15 euros) per night and your get a 10% discount in the "Ginger bar" located nearby. If you would like to make a reservation, please send an email to Mihail at
[email protected] with "Comarade Hostel Accomodation" in the
subject of your letter. May 30 is the last day to send your
reservation request, so please do it as soon as you can since there
are only 30 spots available in the hostel.

The other option is "Hotel Beta" (http://www.hotelbeta.ru). It is also around
30 minutes from the event location and the rate is 2400 rubles (around 60 euros) per night. Please visit the website to find all the neccessary details.

is it correct that with the invitation letter sent out by your partner from the hostel, i will only be applying for a tourist visa, that i have to pay for?

last time i went the invitation enabled me to get a sports visa, which was free. any chance on getting a sports visa this time, too?

Hi Matthias,

I think you can apply for sport visa with our invitation letter, but it is better to ask in your local Russian embassy.

how am i supposed to apply for a sports visa, if the invitation letter clearly states "tourism" as purpose of travel, if the directions that came along with the invitation require me to state "tourism" in the correspondent form, and if there is no mention whatsoever of a sports event? i doubt this is going to work.

Matthias,

Have you requested/received invitation letter from Andrey Romanov?

Because invitation letter from Andrey, clearly states that you are invited to Sport event - 15th Annual IFPA European Footbag Championships in Moscow, as a competitor.
