Yeah Dan, I'm actually going to be practicing osis> ducking/diving soon.

Tonight I had a session with Corey Gerges. He's starting to open big doors to bigger tricks. Stringing 3 guiltless the into tiltless. Hit a bunch of new stuff tonight: first diving osis, first flip diving clipper, first diving butter, first symp swirl, first gyro clipper, first double switchover, cleared a few really excellent Frantic sets (?WTF?).. He's been practicing and he's back into it for good now I think. Nice to see players come back from the dead.

I had a pretty uneventful session, only because I literally worked my Flip dives the entire time, aside from a few other experiments..

Highlights:

 Pixie late Ingyro toe BSOS
 Quantum late Gyro Toe! Very cool, first try, totally surprised.
 So before today, my Flip Diving Clipper record was 5. I wanted to break that and hit 6.. I hit 6, wasn't happy, then hit 8, still wasnt happy.. So I decided 10 was a good goal for this session. Tried and tried and fixed my form and tried some more and fixed some more, then finally 8 became easy for me, out of the blue, I just was able to around 8 every time, then one run I hit 11, then accidentally weaved instead of dove (STUPID GUY) but I strung on 3 diving clips to the end of that. So whatever you wanna call that, that is my new Diving Clipper record. Will practice those some more.
 Zulu Clipper (Red Ribbon) b2b is now much easier because of this practice.
 Also, Pdx Torque> Ripwalk one side, first try, just to show Corey. Didn't try flipside.

Fun session. Work in the morning. Peace.

Your trick selection is so fresh. I'm gonna steal ideas from you, 'cause mine is super boring. Keep it up. And make videeoos!

So a video has been taken, Erik. It has some ok runs from me on it. The other guys got some good runs in too.

I did also manage to hit 2 really sick things last night for the camera.

Highlights:

 Strongside Alpine Marius (5th 7 ADD)
 Flipside Apline Marius (6th 7 ADD)

So that was neat. I also managed Dimwalk> Whale Tail *rpt on camera to a short run :/ Had some other ok stuff. Not satisfied though, need to keep drilling.

Thanks for the words, Anz. They crossed my mind a few times tonight and I just felt really at one with the bag.

Quick session with Corey Gerges tonight...

Highlights:

 Zulu Torque BSOS! Also first day I've hit either of them! Yeah! Starting to completely understand the "Pdx Torque Leap" as I call it.
 Blurry Torque BSOS! Fuck yeah. Missed the stupid hand catch though because I'm not a baseball player.. but it was right in front of my face!
 Marius BSOS again
 Smear> Pixie Whirl BSOS
 Some real sick runs with crazy non-stop ducking, diving, stepping out of osis
 Torque> Drifter *rpt
 Torque> Osis *rpt
 Spinning Ducking Osis> Ripwalk
 My dives/ducks/zulus/weaves got much easier

Drillin drillin drillin.

This is just a running tally for me to know which 6's I've BSOS'ed..

-Food Processor
-Marius
-Spender
-Zulu Torque
-Blurry Torque

Sweet, 5!

I don't wanna bsos anymore, I feel like 5 is enough. And I love how none of them are Pdx Whirls! I really wanna get awesome at those 5 though. Can't wait til my game finally goes berserk and I'm saucing 6's like crazy.

Looking forward to seeing some video. You will definitely have a great time at Worlds, I can't wait to hear about you feeding off the energy of people who are just as obsessed with the sport as you are.

Ughhh, Dan, the thought of it just makes my blood throw confetti. Toolan said video should be finished by today I think.

Anyway, after work, I was really lazy. Talked to a few people about footbag and stuff and it was fun, but I was too lazy... But that really made me want to play... but I was too lazy... So then I went out and had a 2 hour drill session, inspired by Ben Babyak, Ivan, and Mike Toolan.

Highlights:

 The best flipside Spender I've ever hit, not chunky at all (chunky is the term that I just created, like just now, to describe when a Pdx Blender looks too "reachy" and is dexed improperly. Because when you put something in a half-ass blender, you're gonna have a chunky-ass milkshake. Anyway, non-chunky flip Spender. Good stuff.
 Wow.. Spinning Whirls just come to me now on both sides. Flip used to be such a bitch. but now she is totally obedient. BSOS Spinning Whirl.. easiest bsos Spinning Whirl I've hit.
 Then I realized my Whirls were quite awful.. so I spent the rest of the session doing 100 Whirls bs. Totally fixed the flipside. Much more slicey and quick. Whirls were really inspired by Toolan.
 To prove to myself I had Whirls much better, I ended the session on a drill to a drill to a run.. Which I don't actually think I've hit a drill to a drill before: Whirl> Ripwalk *rpt> Ducking Clipper> Whirl *rpt> decent run

Pretty happy I fixed flip whirls. My flip Whirls used to hurt me on my landing, but now they feel fine, so I'm excited about that.

Work tomorrow, gonna play with some dead birds. Nice.

Is there a direct correlation between the quality of your chunky-ass milkshake, and the number of males present in your yard?

EDIT : Sorry for the useless post, im so very, very bored right now...

Got a bunch of funny guys here, eh? :P

Dan Boyle wins for the funniest post though. I laughed hard.. Ian, no men will be drinking their milkshakes in my yard, but thank you for the offer.

All I'm gonna say is this..

Hilghlights:

 I filmed.

Also, took a group of kids and parents on "birding in canoes" excursion today and we were approaching some fishermen on the bank under a bridge around the corner... Except those fishermen were actually a fisherwoman and a fisherman. The fisherman had his rod out and his fisherwoman was sucking on his tackle. Why do I think some of those parents threw carpenter ants and soap in their child's eyes after that trip was over?

In other news, the Gyro/Spinning/Zooming tutorial should be finished by tomorrow.

Back from Worlds!

Bummed that it's over finally, but all amazing things must come to an end. Definitely going next year no matter what. Parents want to make a family vacation out of it. Woop!

Got some cool ideas for promoting the sport this weekend. Going to be working on something with Pipenberg soon. More on that later. Also Worlds write-ups are lame so we're gonna try to do a podcast next weekend :P

Anyway..

Highlights:

 Spinning Osis> Spike Hammer BSOS
 FS Fog BSOS (new on bs)
 Spinning Osis> Fog bs
 FS Spike Hammer
 Mobius> Ripped Warrior bs
 Twirl> Mobius bs
 FS Blurry Torque bs (new on bs)
 Spinning Ducking Osis> Blurry Whirl bs
 Double Spinning Osis> Mobius
 Pdx Torque> Stepping Ducking fallonfloor (Going to start drilling more stepping so I can get better at stuff like this)
 New Infinity record: 102! (Old "before-worlds" record was 50!!!)

I made it out of preliminary circle and into semifinals:

Prelims: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPg5iOUbJKI

I was in a semifinals circle with Honza, Johnny, and Chris. Scary. Didnt wanna post that because it was horrible getting passes from Honza. He intimidated the shit out of me.

Anyway, yeah, that's a quick update, playing again next week to let my legs recover, then I start my intense drilling sessions.

I watched that semifinals circle. You weren't the only one intimidated by Honza. He laid down the law with his first run, and made it very clear that there wasn't anybody in that circle who could touch him. It was scary. Of course, I think you all stepped up to the challenge. Personally, I would've sucked eggs completely faced with what Honza was doing - but you really held your own.

Nice job getting to semifinals!
