Wow, just perfect.

But yeah, welcome to the club Doug! It can be a tricky game at first, but it's fun on so many levels. I have a microphone too, so I can help coach you. My name on Steam is somolinos, and I'll look to add you as well.

Sold my bubbling bonnet for 24 keys. Kinda sad to let it go, but now that I had the blizzardy private eye it was kinda redundant. Sold it for 24 keys...and I used 8 of them to get a strange sapper. Nice. Now my spy set is all strange, and since I use a strange diamondback I'll have even more motivation to synergistically level them both up. :)

nice Ken, i'm happy for you about the strange sapper :)

does it happened to you to make somehting REALLY awesome in a server you can record a replay, you record it and when you try to look at it, it's corrupted and the game crash!!!i'ts frustrating !!!!

i was on STAR_'s server (it's a server where 80% of players there are really skilled). i was on koth_lakeside_final, as scout, capping the point and i killed 7 players who tried to stop me, never did that before, will never be able to do it again :( i think i didn't even miss a single shot so i wanted to recird it soooooooooooooooooooooo bad :x

anyway: here is a little scout update, since i almost play scout for the moment:

Epic Silver Botkiller Scattergun Mk.I - Kills: 6718
Positively Inhumane Pistol - Kills: 815 - still as useless as before
Australian Sandman - Kills: 8037 (Heavies Killed: 347) (Cloaked Spies Killed: 167) gonna get to hale's own REALLY soon :D

also i painted all my scout hat/miscs in "team spirit" so: V. ye olde baker, fast learner and i traded for the merc's muffler. i think that all 3 togheter look very awesome and now i'm all blue/red you'll have to see my awesome lay out Ken :)

Yeah, it sucks when a replay doesn't capture. Especially when it's something super unique (like when I reflected a huntsman arrow and accidentally headshot killed a cloaked spy with it).

Scout loadout sounds cool. Definitely show me in game some time.

Doug Tank: I tried to add you. Accept my request!

Re: Team Fortress 2

Its been like half a year since I updated my strange count. Here's where I'm at now, by class.

Scout

"Wicked Nasty" Shortstop- 591 kills
 "Server Clearing" Mad Milk- 2770 soaks

-Haven't played much Scout in the last year. I do like the synergy though between the milk and the shortstop. It'd be cool to have a strange mackerel, but they're expensive and really not worth it to me for how little I play scout.

Soldier

 "Face melting" Black Box- 1353 kills
 "Wicked Nasty" Shotgun-534 kills, 31 underwater kills
 "Unremarkable" Market Gardener- 11 kills

-Black box is my primary strange for soldier. I only use the shotgun when facing pyros who airblast, or when I'm out of ammo with the box and need to kill somebody fast. I want to learn to market garden better...most of my current kills with it come from sneaking up on snipers.

Pyro

 "Server Clearing" Degreaser -4026 kills (943 allies extinguished, 214 posthumous kills, 1750 projectiles reflected)
 "Wicked Nasty" Shotgun-534 kills, 31 underwater kills
 "Face Melting" Axetinguisher- 1012 kills, 216 full moon kills.
 "Spectacularly Lethal" Powerjack- 295 kills

-I like using the degreaser on 2 fort near the bridge, since people jump in the water to put out the flames, and then I can score an underwater kill with the shotgun. My default melee with the degreaser is the axtinguisher, since the weapon switch helps with puff and stings. I'll use the powerjack occasionally, but only on maps where nobody is playing heavy.

Demoman

 "Wicked Nasty" Grenade Launcher- 509 kills
 "Epic" Stickybomb Launcher- 5021 kills (441 critical kills, 395 demomen killed, 94 defender kills)
 "Somewhat Threatening" bottle- 92 kills
 "Wicked Nasty" Scotsman Skullcutter -638 kills
 "Scarcely Lethal" Eyelander- 30 heads taken.

-Sticky launcher is my first strange to make it to Epic. Skullcutter is almost entirely Degrootkeep kills. I recently got the eyelander, mostly to experiment with getting 4 heads and then being a fast, strong sticky demo. On a map like 2Fort I'll try and take out spies with the eyelander, and then once I'm at 2-4 heads, I can be really destructive with my stickylauncher.

Heavy

 "Positively Inhumane" Tomislav- 806 kills.
 "Gore Spattered" Natascha- 393 kills.

-I use the Tommy on offense or when I need to mobile, since Natascha takes too long to spin up. That said, I have more fun with the Natascha, and I like it defensively more. A lot of times I won't get credit for a kill, but by slowing down the enemy I can score an assist and help my team more.

Engie

 "Face Melting" Jag- 1311 sentry kills, 110 kills, 484 sappers removed
 "Gore Spattered" Frontier Justice- 492 kills

-Love the synergy between these two weps. I'll get a couple kills with my sentry, and then either destroy it or wait for it to die, and then I'll use the revenge crits to level up the FJ. They also have good synergy in that if I'm defending a point, I can shoot at a target using both weps, and I'll for sure level up either one of them.

Medic

 "Sufficiently Lethal" Syringe Gun- 208 kills
 "Rage-Inducing" medigun -1610 ubers, 4576 assists
 "Gore-Spattered" Ubersaw- 386 kills

-Ubersaw has good synergy with the medigun. I don't use it much, but if I get a kill my uber meter is usually close to filled, so using the ubersaw helps me rack up ubers deployed. I need to work on upping my assist to uber ratio. So much of that is dependent though on how good your teammates are.

Sniper

 "Totally Ordinary" Sniper Rifle- 999 kills
 "Scarcely lethal" Tribalman's Shiv- 51 kills

-Haven't played much sniper lately. Considering getting a strange jarate/bushwacka combo so I can be more aggressive against close quarters opponents.

Spy

 "Face Melting" knife-2301 kills
 "Notably Dangerous" Diamondback- 157 kills
 "Gore Spattered" Dead Ringer- 463 feigned deaths.
 "Spectacularly Pseudoful" Sapper- 100 bldgs destroyed

-Getting a spy unusual hat, and a strange sapper, has totally revived my interest in playing spy. Now that I have more incentive to sap bldgs, my diamondback is getting more crits, and I'm leveling that up faster too.
C-Fan wrote:Haven't updated my strange count in quite a while.

 "Server Clearing" Stickybomb Launcher- 3021 kills (148 critical kills, 160 demomen killed)
 "Rage Inducing" Mad Milk- 2470 soaks
 "Rage Inducing" knife-2141 kills
 "Rage Inducing" Degreaser -2100 kills (441 allies extinguished, 114 posthumous kills, 837 projectiles reflected)
 "Face-Melting" medigun -1209 ubers, 3581 assists
 "Positively inhumane" Sniper Rifle- 758 kills
 "Wicked Nasty" Jag- 657 sentry kills, 66 kills, 105 sappers removed
 "Wicked nasty" Black Box- 549 kills
"Wicked Nasty" Shortstop- 552 kills
"Wicked Nasty" Axetinguisher- 502 kills, 40 full moon kills.
 "Spectacularly Lethal" Bonesaw -315 kills

i played a lot of scout and soldier. i started changing class every arena round too, that's why all my weapons have slightly more kills. it changes the aspect of the game and it shows me how terrible i am at spy

on another note, they changed the sandman's ball physics (WTF??????????????? after 6 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!) it now goes way further and faster, i'll have to adjust to iti'm pretty sure some new things are possible to do now, but here is a lot that aren't possible anymore :(

Bought a strange minigun with robots killed and tanks destroyed parts on it. I hadn't played much MVM before, but in my quest to level up my new wep I've had a lot of fun playing it. I think it's cool how some weps that are normally useless (Fan of War) all of a sudden have real value to the team, and also how teamwork is just as important in MVM as it is in the normal game.

I'd like to hear what you find out.

The only other notable for me, is that I've upgraded the miscs of a lot of my loadouts over the past month (new items in blue). I think I'm going to look for a Fancy Dress Uniform for soldier...but other than that I feel completely happy with how my characters look now.

Scout: Milkman (which I crafted), haunted spooky sleeves, stereoscopic shades
Soldier: N&B Chieftain Challenge, professor specs, menpo
Pyro: Massed flies brain slug (brown), last breath, devil wings/prof speks
Demoman: Blizzardy Private Eye, dangeresque glasses, scotland cape
Heavy: Smoking Ushanka, toss proof towel, purity fist
Engie: Smoking texas ten gallon (black), texas half pants, itsy bitsy spyper
Sniper: Spine twisting skull (which i crafted), villain's veil (with the skull logo, so with my hat it looks like a death head), and itsy bitsy spyper
Medic: Orbiting planets grimme hatte, blighted beak (level 42), foppish physician
Spy: Blizzardy Private Eye, Noh Mercy, gen distinguished rogue

Sniper: Spine twisting skull (which i crafted), garlic flank stake, license to maim badge
Medic: Orbiting planets grimme hatte, blighted beak (level 42), foppish physician
Spy: Familiar fez, vintage camera beard, gen distinguished rogue

Re: Team Fortress 2

Had a pretty epic life on a 2Fort newb server yesterday. I recently acquired 2 new stranges which lend themselves well to this map. The first is a minigun with dominations and ubered kills part on it, and the second is a sydney sleeper with snipers killed on it. The former is good on 2fort because all the short pathways make it easy to rack up dominations with a minigun. The latter is good because of all the sniper wars...and the fact that I have a croc-o-style set, so I have a strong advantage against opposing snipers on this map.

So yeah, yesterday I had a run beginning with Heavy, where I was dominating 3 of the other teams top 5 players. I was getting kinda bored and having trouble getting more dominations because I was only killing people I was already dominating. So I switched to sniper for a bit, and ended up having a 27 kill streak where I picked up dominations against the other 2 of the top 5 on the other team. I took a screenshot of the final screen, but my fiancee accidentally deleted it. But the shot showed that I was dominating the top 5 players on the other team, had 20 dominations, 210 kills, and 19 deaths. It was against newbs, but I was still kinda proud of it.

at this point, it sad when you die :( , it happens to me sometimes too ... you think you might be able to go flawless and then you die from a random crit, or you got stuck somewhere, or you got shot by a lucky hs/huntman.

Well done !! :)

Yeah, the worst deaths are the ones where they aren't even going for you. Like, you'll have survived an epic 1-on-1 battle against somebody, have low health, and then die from a stray bullet somebody on the other side of the map was shooting at somebody else...that just happened to crit out and take you down. But yeah, shit happens, and skill wins out in the long run.

What are people's thoughts on the new robot hats and effects? Personally, I think almost all the robot hats are ugly, with the exception of the byted beak. The robot effects are on the whole pretty cool...though I liked the halloween moon effects more. The robokeys and crates dont have an expiration date, so I'm going to hold onto one of each and try and sell them in a year or two when people get nostalgic.

more strange updates, recently, i have changed a bit the way i play. if i'm "too good" for the server i'm playing in arena, i hit the random class every round. It's fun to do and changes A LOT your natural style, i sitll play mostly scout and soldier, so i sometimes have to go spy and heavy, which i'm horrible at. I take that as a challenge. I've played only 7.4 hours as heavy and 15.2 as spy ... in 4 years !!! comparing to soldier at 280 and scout at 440, there is a BIG difference.

i also started to play some lobby, where the challenge is way harder and i often don't get a positive score

so i managed to add more kills to all my stranges, probably, let's look :D

 Hale's Own Silver Botkiller Scattergun Mk.I - Kills: 8878
 Face-Melting Pistol - Kills: 1122 (my last scout's weapn that isn't hale's own, it will be in some month, i need to learn how it work, atm, i f*cking hate it)
 Hale's Own Sandman - Kills: 8742 (Heavies Killed: 382) (Cloaked Spies Killed: 202)
 Server-Clearing Carbonado Botkiller Sniper Rifle Mk.I - Kills: 3702

I like that. For me lately, my main goal has been racking up dominations on my minigun, so I'll start off the round as whatever class helps my team, and once I've gotten a good kill/death ratio I'll switch to Heavy to pick up the dominations.

this week, i learned about the steam levels and i wanted to upgrade it just for fun, BUT to gain more levels, you need to do stuff, like trading cards, and for that you need money, which i didn't want to spend for that. I saw the market thing. i wasn't sure but i aid, why not. So i put many un-used botkillers. Today, i sold my gold minigun for 7$ which i think i awesome. I didn't care caus i got a diamond one this week and it only had 220ish kills on it.

So i bought many shits for the level thing and i bought a summer key with a summer crate. i unboxed the "Mair Mask" for pyro, one of the best hat i could get from the crate IMO.

So, my profile look pretty neat now with the scout on the background, i got a very cool misc for the pyro, i got a diamond minigun, sold a gold one, all of that FOR FREE !!! i'm happy with that and i might start to look more into the market now.

EDIT: WOW, i woke up this morning and i saw that i have sold all 3 of my festive weapons, so i got 10$ in my wallet and i bought a salvaged crate 50 and i got the grease !!!!! I HAVE A STRANGE PAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Props on getting a strange pan! I felt like the #50 crate was filled with mostly meh items, with the exception of the grease, which is way cool. It's also gratifying to get good items through trading...I've never spent money on TF2, so I'm proud to have built up a solid backpack through trading.

Not much new for me...still trying to score an unusual beak for medic, but mostly just having a good time leveling up my strange minigun. I also put a "heavies killed" part on my axtinguisher, which has been fun to level up as well.

Agreed...any update that nerfs the minisentry is a good update. I can't think of a single weapon which warps gameplay worse than the minisentry. Even the dead ringer isn't that bad.

Won't play for the next week due to a business trip, so thought I'd snapshot my strange counts.

Here's where I'm at now, by class.

Scout

No real progress since last time.

Soldier

No real notable progress since last time.

Pyro

 "Server Clearing" Degreaser -4320 kills (1017 allies extinguished, 229 posthumous kills, 1882 projectiles reflected)
 "Wicked Nasty" Shotgun-680 kills, 41 underwater kills, 77 pyros killed
 "Face Melting" Axtinguisher- 1121 kills, 275 full moon kills, 8 heavies killed

-Not a lot of Pyro lately for me, but I will play when my team needs spychecking, or if its a full moon so I can level up the axe. Also put pyros killed on the shotgun for obvious reasons.

Demoman

 "Wicked Nasty" Grenade Launcher- 604 kills
 "Epic" Stickybomb Launcher- 5350 kills (498 critical kills, 438 demomen killed, 180 defender kills)
 "Uncharitable" bottle- 108 kills

-Not much demo lately, but I'll use him on payload maps to level up defender kills.

Heavy

 "Epic" Minigun- 5761 kills, 511 dominations, 3550 robots killed, 125 kills while ubered.
 "Positively Inhumane" Natascha- 861 kills, 67 pyros killed, 41 soldiers.

-Abandoned the tomislav when I got a minigun. Mainly look to get dominations on 2fort when I heavy, so I'll start off with Natascha to get assists/kills, then switch to minigun to get the dominations. I've come to really enjoy heavy since getting the strange minigun.

Engie

No notable progress.

Medic

 "Truly Feared" Syringe Gun- 232 kills
 "Rage-Inducing" medigun -1716 ubers, 4791 assists
 "Gore-Spattered" Ubersaw- 404 kills

Sniper

 "Wicked Nasty" Sydney Sleeper- 643 kills, 262 snipers killed, 18 airborne kills
 "Face melting" Sniper Rifle- 1015 kills

-Got into crocostyle to duel enemy snipers, but looks like they nerfed the set (you can be killed by headhots now :( ). Mostly use this set, but on some maps I'll dust off my old rifle. I also got a strange bushwacka and jarate, but haven't used them much.

Spy

 "Server clearing" knife-2590 kills, 90 engies killed, 19 medics killed, 23 snipers killed
 "Spectacularly lethal" Diamondback- 310 kills, 29 snipers killed
 "Face melting" Dead Ringer- 1004 feigned deaths.
 "Circuit Melting" Sapper- 388 bldgs destroyed

-Put some strange parts on my set, which made it more fun for me to get certain classes that help my team.
C-Fan wrote:Its been like half a year since I updated my strange count.
