ECFC! East Coast Footbag Championships!

Post by F[uns]tylin' Eclectic »

Hey Everbuddy!

It's that special time of year that we cherish more than the other times of years and when we worship the one thing that means so much to us all... No, not Christmas! I'm talkin bout the East Coast Championships!

This year is sure to be a huge turnout. And this might be the first tournament where there are a decent amount of tiltless players (mainly from PSU Footbag Club, I know at least 5 are coming from there, probably more...), which will be awesome, because once tiltless players get exposed to the Guiltless level, they will wanna keep it going to try to achieve that level of shred. So come on out, have fun, party it the hell up, play some futebag and inspire the next generation!

For more information, go to this link:

http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1367327351

Here is a video of what last year's looked like (filmed & edited by Ivan Iakimenko):

...Except more people this year ;)

Catch you guys on the East Coasts!

Heck Yeah! I'm gonna ask Mcfancy to do a demo. I wanted to make this thread but I was waiting for some more info to come out. I think we are going to have a different kind of venue this year and net and freestyle will be together. Third longest running footbag tournament in the world! This event is older then most people that go to it and their is something to be said for that.

Glad to see all this excitement for East Coasts, but I'd advise people don't buy tickets or set their plans around what's posted on dot org just yet.

I spoke with an inside source and got this response:

Not sure what post you are referring to. Perhaps you're looking at the event listing on footbag DOT ORG... but, that has not actually been updated in a long time,...

In any case, I spoke to Ted today. We are almost certainly NOT going to be doing anything with DUMBO this year. Ted and Jim Hankins have apparently taken care of booking our primary location (I'm told its some park in Brooklyn near Dumbo, as in one or two miles from...) but they have NOT gotten a lock on an indoor back-up location, which Ted doesn't want to proceed without.

This situation wouldn't change the date of the event, right? I was just going to get the PSU club to buy bus tickets.

It could...my understanding from last year is that normally they'd do East Coasts earlier, and were only doing it that late to coincide with Dumbo. So if we're not part of Dumbo, there's no reason to have it that weekend. I mean, they still might, but there's no guarantee that that would be the date either. I'd personally wait until something official.

It's Ted and Jim organizing. I'm pretty sure the dates are solid, they're just dealing with the regular bureaucratic nonsense from the New York City Parks dept. Apparently the Arts Festival doesn't have space for us due to some mandate from the city regarding damage to the area from Superstorm Sandy...and so it goes!

I'll be providing crash space as always...and the t-shirt designs are underway...I hope y'all like demons  and footbags :footbag:

Bruce - I intended to call you earlier but never got around to it - can you house up to 6 PSU club members?

yup, no problem....the request found it's way through to me somehow last weekend, so you guys are good. I figure we have space for about five more (in addition to you guys) out of towners before things start getting silly.

Bruce, may I pretty please happen to reserve 2 crash spaces for myself and Nadiah? Thank you very much for your time.

Now, how polite was that shit? ^ That's gotta score me some bitchin ass crash space! :P (and possible 2 others for Jackson and Jeremy?)

Bruce, you're always going to be the shit, but if I didn't get us in quick enough and the spots are taken, we'll fend for ourselves.

Nick, Nadiah, Toolan....check, check, check.

Nick, I think you and Nadiah can share the futon mattress on the upper level, I'm gonna get rid of the frame since it really just makes things more crowded up there.

Looking forward to seeing you all, it's been a while!

Sick! Thanks Bruce, you da man.

Just had a session with Jackson and went running with Jeremy and each of them wanted me to try to reserve them a spot. They're both going to be coming for sure now.

because Hogan is this shit

thankfully whatever enclosed picture you may have meant to send did not come through, but I trust that there is a direct correlation between the shit in question and K-Hog.

I think there may be one more spot (in addition to Hogan's)....

Also, do the wonderful people organizing this event need any prize bags? I wouldn't mind providing a few if you are still doing that this year.

I'll be there Friday through Sunday! I know I'm a little late to the crash space thing, but does anyone happen to have any 5ft x 2ft plots of floor left?
