Thanks Ken, I kinda figured that was the case. You're a really nice guy :P No but really, you are. Can't wait to shred with you again at some upcoming jamnament.

East Coasts was awesome. I brought Nadiah along and she had fun too. She's been inspired to start playing more, which is sick.

I got my first Open level footbag trophy! I took 3rd place! Which is cool, but I need to get better now lol

Hogan, madd props on getting 1st place buddy. You deserved it. And Jon, props on 2nd! You deserved it too.

My prelim round was Pete Bowler vs me. That was really scary and I thought I lost pretty badly but I was wrong.

Scariest part of the comp was going up against Matt Kemmer competing for 3rd place. He hit a Spender> Blazing link in my battle with him. So scary. I went balls to the wall and hit Twirl> Mobius midstring like 15 contacts deep. That was sick, but I don't really remember it lol I just black out when I compete.

Anyway, Might write more on it later, but highlight time!

Highlights!:

 Mobius> Spinning DLO
 Mobius> Maruis
 Blurry Blink (new!)
 Ducking Blink (new!)
 New invention with Hogan's help: Reverse Swirling Inside Stall (aka: Wink!) hit that bs.
 Toe ss Blink> ss Blink> ss Reverse Swirl
 Spinning Blink (new!)
 Swirling Blink (new!)
 Pdx Tapping Twirl! (cool! and new!)

So as you can see, I got better at Blinks and didn't realize it :P I'm going to be going to town on Blinks in the near future. Those will be owned by me sooner or later.

Congrats to all my PSU'ers who came out and/or competed! You guys all did so well!

Mike Toolan, props on 3rd place routines!

Just a really fun weekend. If you missed out, I feel bad for you, son. I got 99 problems but not attending East Coasts '13 ain't one.

Having a Blinky session as we speak, so I'm just going to update as I hit notable stuff...

Highlights:

 Toe ss Rev Swirl> ss Blink bs
 Toe far Blink b2b
 Fairy ss Blink> DOD bs
 Fairy Muted Ducking Clipper> ss Blink bs (Thanks for the inspiration, Johnny!)
 Fairy ss Blink> ss blink bs (proved to be a hard link on flipside... definitely going to put some time into this one)
 Toe ss Blink> Legbeater BSOS
 Clipper far Blink BSOS! Dope!!!!
 Flip Ducking Blink! (brand new on flip, hit strong this weekend in NY)
 Gyro Blink BSOS
 Gyro Reverse Swirl BSOS

Blinks are starting to feel a lot easier. I broke down the trick to a "set-wait" and a "cut-pivot-delay" and that has been golden for me hitting the trick.

I have noticed tonight that my Fairies are still really lacking. So they're definitely on my to-own list. I actually think my flip clipper might need a bit of work, as well. Have been ending all of my sessions with consecutive illusions too, because they really suck right now. That's about it. I can't wait to actually OWN some concepts aside from spins. I think it's safe to say that I own spins. I dont think I own anything else except for BOPs. so I'll be drilling to own concepts now.

ECFC has really whipped me into shape. I think the best thing I heard all weekend was Matt Kemmer say something like "I always let you know what you need to fix in your game when we meet up at jams, but this time, I have no remarks, keep doing what you're doing." That felt really great, so thanks for those words Matt.

On a side note, I've always had trouble picking what I wanted to get good at. I always have ADD when it comes to tricks I want to be good at, but now, I'm going to be obsessing over a single concept until I hit a wall or get bored of it. I'm going to literally make a "To-Own" list after I sign off of here. And I know exactly the first few things I want my game to consist of. I'm pretty excited right now at this time in footbag. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeah Cassy! Great shredding with you this weekend! Congrats on routines!

Just had a drill sesh when the earth's vibrations were the best... 5-7 pm... Yeah... I'm reading the Vasek Manual again... getting more out of it this time since the last time I read it was 3 years ago.

Highlights:

 Toe far muted Swirl> Blink *rpt (phat drill)
 Reverse Swirling Blender bs
 Toe ss Revup bs
 DOD> Blender BSOS
 Torque> butter *rpt
 Torque> Ducking Clipper *rpt
 Toe far muted Swirl> Blink> far Blink (hit it by accident while trying to hit that first drill, but this felt so stylish)
 worked on Blazing, Torques, and Fairies too. Filmed a bunch of fairies tonight, as well, and I'm going to analyze those soon.

Pretty good session, some of these tricks are really coming along. Oh and I mentioned my "To-Own List"... I think that will be good for getting practice in for just a few concepts each session instead of getting carried away and working on everything.

Anyway, yeah, that's it. There were a few other things that were cool but I forget them.

Footbag is fun.

Hi. Umm.. well today was my 5th day of footbagging in a row! Haven't gone this long since befotlre my injury! Its exciting because my shins are fine! Anyway, I had a solo session today and it was quite good. I drilled torques for the most part because my flipside really sucked... not anymore.

Highlights:

 drilled ducking clipper> torque> pdx mirage on bs a good bit using a different bag each time
 then soon I moved onto ducking butterfly> torque> blender bs with a new bag each time. That went really well and its now a lot easier to play out of torques on flipside.
 gyro blink bsos
 sick link to end the session: Pixie muted Swirl> Revup bs (real happy about this one)

In other news, I'm hiking a mountain on Friday with Nadiah and we have a session and picnic planned on top of the mountain! Should be a blast! I'm excited. Anyway.. dinner now!

Word! Thanks Asmus! I want to OWN a few things on my "To Own List" first, then I'll film some more. Btw, sick new video you guys in Denmark just released.

So I just had a good long drill session. My focus today was Bev-Clickity sets (or Whirling Cloud Kicks). I decided I would just list a bunch of tricks to hit out of the cloud kick and do each of them 5x on each side. So much improvement. Ended up saucing most of them.. Also hit 2 new Cloud links on both sides.

Drill:

Bev-Clickity ss Clipper 5x bs
Bev-Clickity op Clipper 5x bs
Bev-Clickity ss Legover 5x bs
Bev-Clickity op Legover 5x bs
Bev-Clickity ss Mirage 5x bs
Bev-Clickity op Mirage 5x bs
Bev-Clickity ss Pickup 5x bs
Bev-Clickity op Pickup 5x bs
Bev-Clickity ss Whirl 5x bs

Feeling so much more confident in them.

Now the few highlights I hit during little experimentation minutes when I needed a break from drilling..

Highlights:

 Fairy ss Cloud> ss Whirl bs
 Swirling ss Cloud> ss Whirl bs
 Blazing Knee Bump> Butter bs

I think I'm finally on the right track with focusing on only a few concepts at a time, instead of my old way of drilling everything at once :/

I was thinking about why I'm so drawn to Bev-Clickity's... When I first saw footbag, I knew it was special and it just looked like magic and it seemed impossible, yet I knew I could learn slowly. I always loved magic. So I started to learn footbag. Then when I was a little better, I saw Bevier for the first time. He was basically just being Bevier and doing what he does, but when I saw those whirling Cloud kicks. HOLY SHIT. It was like a double dose of that initial magic that sparked my joy of footbag. He heard I liked magic so he put some magic in my magic so I could magic while I magic'ed. Like SHHIT. His shit REALLY looked impossible. but I knew if I practiced cloud kicks on their own, I would eventually fall into Whirling CLoud Kick> Whirl and stuff like that. And now I'm here. It feels so good to look back and remember how much I sucked at just controlling could kicks, now I'm hitting them to Whirls and Blenders bs. So fun. I love this sport.

Here's to having a stylish future in footbag, just like Bevier.

Hell yeah! Fuck yeah! Woo! Hell yeahhhh!!!!!

After watching Gatesman in slow motion, I saw him to a Swirling Drifted and something struck me funny. I looked at it a few times, then I saw it. I can explain it well, but he kind of dexes quickly with his ankle then jumps through. I was excited when I noticed it, so I immediately went outside with my slavers to test it out. Boom. Best drifters ive ever done.

Regular drifted was super easy. Hit drifter to drifter easier than ive ever done before. Then Toe drifter easy as pie bs. Then first try Bsos Pdx Drifter. Bang. Didn't even have to try. They just kijda happened. Figured id test it out with some other bigger tricks... vortex bs. Smooth. Felt like Matt Kemmer's. (Hi Matt!) Thenn.... I decided to test out blurry drifter... both sides. Strong side felt just as easy (if not easier) than blurry whirl.

Holy shit. I'm so excited about this because just recently, while making my "To Own List", I decided to completely exclude drifters and pdx drifters because they hurt my hip. This new way... I feel no pain! NO PAIN! So sick! I cant wait to test out my new Voids. That trick used to be easy for me, but like I said it gave me pain. So it hurt me to exclude them because I love doing void... i've really missed hitting them... but it looks like I'll be filling my empty void soon ;)

So today was great. It started at 7 am. Lasted til midnight. Spent the whole day with Nahds.

Hiked. Hiked. Hiked. and Hike some more. All the way up this crazy steep trail which open up into observatory grounds at the top. Then you go through another trail and you reach the Pulpit, which was our main goal. (I am new to taking photos with my GoPro, so don't chew me out if they're bad, I know they're not great. I'm going to work on it/ask Ivan to help me :P )

Image

Image

Image

Then I climbed a tree!

Image

...And did a cool Flapper pose in the tree!

Image

...And then I dropped the bag REALLY far down to the ground...

Image

And then I got Nadiah to heave it back up to me so I could do another cool Flapper pose!

Image

Then we found a stick insect! This is only the 2nd one I've ever seen in the wild..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh09FBOO ... e=youtu.be

Then we played footbag at one of the observatory cement pads where they set up telescopes. I was mainly teaching Nadiah today. She had some awesome runs with a bunch of toe stalls and clippers. Getting way more consistent with Clippers! She hit her first Clipper> op Clipper today! I was really proud of her. I filmed it but she doesn't want me to release the footage :P I hit Whirlwind while running up a hill then collapsed with it still on my clipper. that was cool :P Had one real highlight of today though.

Highlight!:

 Drifter> Blurry Whirl bs (doing these drifters the new way I learned them from Evan's video.. they feel so much better!)
 Ok, one more sorta: Whirling Cloud kick> op Mirage bs, one after the other, first try for each.
 Saw our first Pileated Woodpecker!
 And I guess this is kind of a highlight: Symp Whirl> Blender BSOS

Then we found a spider.

Thanks Boatz and Jon! I'm jealous of your Dragons, Jon, so we're even :P

Filmed a back up Sick 3, and a Weird 1 for Matt's comp today. After filming, I had a nice meditative long session. Hit some fun things..

Highlights:

 For Mattew Kemmer- Blazing Butter b2b! Yeah boi. Wanted this for a long time. Just had to work my Whirling Cloud sets
 Whirling Cloud> ss Butter> Whirling Cloud> Infinity bs (will get the repeat on this one soon)
 New set I hit today.. Whirling Cloud Kick Stepping sets.. got this with op butter bs, ss clipper bs, far osis bs, and Mirage bs (No one has a name for this and I know I'll be doing it a lot so I'm going to call it "Whirling Pop Whippity" anyone has a problem with it, suggest a better name.)
 also got Whirling Cloud> ss Butter> Whirling Cloud> ss Butter bs

Some other stuff but thats a secret til video is released.

These may look like no big deal to you, but Quantums have been my single WORST concept in footbag since as far back as I can remember. Now I'm starting to get them. All the Quantum tricks are basically firsts for me on flipside. I've hit flip Toe Blur maybe twice before this session. Also the Blazes are pretty new. Inspirations for this video are Matt Kemmer, Mike Toolan, Kevin Hogan, and David Crakamenko.

Ben, it's not as fun of a journey if you just download tricks into your body... maybe Furious sets is to download :P Keep working on Pickups then Whirls and eventually, if you want Blazing badly enough, it will kick in ;)

So I haven't kicked today, just done a lot of thinking and noting and watching and studying.

First off, Matt Kemmer said I'm too good to be doing so many BOPs... I thought about it and I realized he's totally right. A few years ago, Bob told me I had to push to get rid of Pickups in my tiltless game because I relied on them too much. Then a bit later, I was full tiltless and pretty close to guiltless and Bob make me get rid of my Near Mirages and turn them into Pdx Mirages. It took a while, but I pushed and pushed and finally got rid of them and went basic Guiltless. I think it's now time where I push myself through to the next level. Bigger tricks, like Symp Whirls, Revups, Twirls, Pdx Whirls, etc feel easy enough to play out of.. I rely so much on my Zooms it's not even funny. They've become my new Pickup or Near Mirage like in my Tiltless game. It's time for that to change.

I put together a list of 10 strings, each of them is 10 contacts long, oozing with as much f[uns]tyle as I feel comfortable putting into them right now... and most importantly... no BOPs. I'll be trying to work my way through these. This is the only way I can push through right now, otherwise my game is going to be so boring. However, one thing I noticed as I was creating these 10 strings... Illusions are barely used in here. I'm not confident in them yet. I've been doing consecutive Illusions after each session and they're getting better. I'll feel better about them soon and be able to do better Illusion tricks in my runs. I can feel it.

Anyway, thats my first thing... Secondly, I've been watching a lot of Gordon Bevier today. I've slow mo'ed almost every one of his main shred videos. I still love his style, and he's still a huge inspiration to me, but everytime I see him do a Cloud trick, a little bit of the excitement I used to have is now gone... I used to think that stuff was impossible. Now that I can do those whilring cloud kicks, it doesn't seem far off anymore. In fact, most of the time, I know I can do what he did. It's kind of a disappointment and almost makes me wish that I never learned whirling clouds and just let it be Gordon's thing. Some of the links that used to baffle me like Whirling Cloud> ss Legover> Pixie Clipper *rpt are now slightly more... I don't know.. accessible? I understand Gordon's trick to getting good at Whirling Clouds now... Practice the shit out of them :P It's so weird to have control over that strange and ridiculous trick now. It almost doesnt feel ok. Like ok, as in, I almost don't feel good about hitting them. They used to be something only Bevier could do. People didn't touch them because "oh, that trick is too hard for anyone but Bevier" Which reminds me of that part in the Vasek manual, where Vasek said Symposium Whirr is viewed as his thing and since people view it as that, they can't hit it. I viewed Bevier's Cloud tricks as possible and I put in the time to learn them and now I barely have to think about them when I do them. I don't want this bit to sound cocky at all, I'm just reflecting on this weird concept that I used to think was so impossible which is now so easy that it almost degrades the trick itself. I know how Bevier must feel about the trick too since he's damn good at it. Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now. Sorry if this was boring.

I plan on making this concept a bit new though, as to not completely steal from GBev. I have some fun ideas in my head that I've been messing around with a little bit here and there, such as Whirling Cloud> Ducking, Whirling Cloud> Spinning (only got the a Gyro toe off of this so far..), as I mentioned earlier, Whirling Cloud Stepping, Symposium (Flying?) Cloud, Far Symp Cloud, Whirling Cloud Blink (came so close last time I kicked), etc... That is only the top layer of what I plan on exploring. A few things I'm going to try for soon are Pogo ss Symp Cloud and Symposium Blazing Symp Cloud.

I don't want o make this sound like I am better than Bevier, I know I'm not. His style will always be one of a kind and his core tricks will always be harder and way cooler than mine :P

That's all. Sorry, no highlights today, just some thoughts.

Just watched your latest video before reading this and I must say I have to agree. Another thing I think you should work on is doing more toe stuff. You had a lot of a bunch of clipper tricks > clipper trick ending on toe > legbeater > continue with clipper tricks . Toe tricks can be styley and creative too you know. ;)

Did you see the Bevie video I did? If not it's here:

Hey!

Asmus: I worship that video. thank you though! And yes, I've been trying to work on toe stuff recently. It's coming along. See you at Worlds next year.

Kevin: Thanks man. And yeah, I'm trying to change it, but it's kinda tough. You should put out more footage. I loved your style, from what I saw of it.

So I filmed again:

A tribute to GBev:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKPOYa8M ... e=youtu.be

I think it's pretty fun shred. Nothing big. In fact, I think the only 5 add I hit in this was Spikehammer. But I'm going to start doing more of that. 5 ADDs are dope and I wanna be hitting them midstring eventually, but right now, I realized I just need to focus on long, dense guiltless runs with cool variety. And that's what I plan on doing for a while until I feel like the dense runs are too easy I guess.

Anyway, this was a fun session I had the other day. I love Whirling Clouds. Way too fun. Should be illegal.

I also hit a few things off camera (because my camera died toward the end of my session.

Extra Highlights:

 Toe Inspinning Clipper> Blur *rpt!? So pissed my camera died when I sealed that :/
 Also hit something that is possibly an invention, because the only person I can think would have even been able to come close would be Bevier. Will film this soon.
 Cloud delay> Reverse Swivel (Matt Cross inspired)

Thats all. So I missed a few neat things I wish I caught, but whatever, the fish will flop another day. (that makes no sense, but sounds great!)

I got my package of 2 new pairs of Nucleus shoes and a 14 panel footbag from Derek Littlefield tonight, so I was pretty stoked on that. Thanks Derek! You're the shit. This bag is great too, nice job on it. Really evenly stitched.

Well, that's all. Gonna kick early tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

I filmed my Sick 1 and a (now backup) Sick 3.

So stoked on my Sick 1 and Weird 1. My Sick 3 is ok. I guess it's kinda cool for someone who doesn't know how to control Cloud Kicks. It's definitely cool now that I think about it. I was just upset about it because it felt too easy and i felt like I didn't push myself enough. So then I tried this link today and pulled the shit out of my Osis on the Marius :/ Vdecnost. Now I know my Pdx Torques are lazy and shitty. If anyone can tell me how to fix mine, please help me out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR3vNi9w ... e=youtu.be

That Marius is so ugly.

But whatever. I had fun filming my entries. I didn't hurt myself this time, like I did in Mark's comp last year :D I knew when enough was enough, and I'm proud of myself for that.

Gonna try to get a little bit better at footbag tomorrow during my session ;)

Hi humans...

Been kicking a good bit, every other day, sometimes 2 in a row.. drilling a lot. Also filming a lot. Got my Sick 1, Sick 3, and Weird 1 all submitted as well as Jackson's Weird 1 and Sick 1. Ive been a little footbag squirrel lately and I'm hoarding as mu h footage as I can muster to make a video in the near future. This video will be a bunch of (at least) 10 contact runs with NO BOPS. I'm getting better at not Bopping and going dense as hell. Got some cool runs so far. Still going to keep pushing myself, hopefully to 20 contacts no BOPs. Anyway.. been studying the footage and seeing why I drop a lot.. noting what it was that made me drop and drilling the shit out of that weak link.

One thong I noticed tonight was that I need to incorporate the magic hop more. So I started doing that and a bunch of tricks got a good deal easier for me. I need to stop ripping my pixies like I'm starting a lawnmower, my stepping sets are too high :?: really? I thought it was always a good thing bug it really fucks with my shuffle.

Really been watching slow motion torques from Lon and Aleksi. I did some work on those tonight and they are seriously getting so much better. So how about I stop mumbling and hit ya with the highlights!

I already typed highlights somewhere but since I'm on my kindle... its fucking inaccessible... ok now there's 2 somewhere..

The highlights!:

 Grifter bs! Hay. That's something I never expected to hit.
 Blazing Illusion bs new on both and so is the Grifter but I'm not going to mess with that again and have to restart
 Reverse Swirl>Blazing Legover BSOS
 practiced a ton of basic toe tricks to pixie ss clipper and fairy op clipper
 drilled the crape out of torques. Feeling much better about them now.
 Gravediggah> Mobius bs to end the session. That ones for Pete Bowler. Hope you recover well dude.

In other nonfootbag news, I did 10 pullups today. Pretty excited about that. Its been a short term goal of mine. My core is thanking me.

Oh! Almost forgot.. I used my new Littlefield bag. It was too pretty to kick with at first until I kicked the shit out of it tonight :D great bag. I wanna write him a detailed bag review later. But holy shit man. Really nice job on this one.

That is all. Good night, humans.

The highlights!:
