It's Marc Peralta and I finally caved in to writing a footblog. This is my first time blogging about anything so get ready for some drivel:
I started the shred two years ago. I'd been hackin' the sack for a long time (probably started in middle school?) and I thought I was some seriously hot shit for getting 30 contacts with inside and toe stalls mixed in. Boy was I wrong. I was trying to get my friends at PSU to kick the sack with me because I just loved hackisack, and one day my friend comes across the PSU crew in front of Old Main by himself. He told me the same day to check them out because I would love them to shit. All he could talk about was how crazy these kids were and all the crazy shit they could do. I expected them to be better, but damn when I saw the Old Main video Ivan posted that year I shat bricks. Big fat bricks. All I could think was, "How do I do that?? Where do I learn? Who's the Muffin Man?!" So I messaged the guy who gave his information to my friend. The zany Nick Polini. That was the start of one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me in my entire life. We met up, and I joined the club. In my time with the PSU crew I've went from Clueless to Tiltless, soon Guiltless (I feel it deep in my loins), and I have so much more I want to do.
Tricks that I can currently hit (All Tricks Listed are Both Sided):
-Near Mirage
-Far Legover
-SS Legover
-SS Butterfly from Clipper (My Second Favorite Trick)
-(Record Muted 7)
-Frigid Osis (Kinda)
-Osis to Osis (Record Alternating 9)
*NEW*
Looking at this list now as I write it down after almost two years of footbag I can't believe how many tricks I have hit already. Eventually this list will be a whole page, or at least that's the goal. I'm pretty open to feedback/criticism and welcome anyone to give me pointers. I love the footbag community, and everyone I've met has been so awesome.
My Biggest Inspirations so far are:
-Nick Polini for opening my eyes to this amazing sport and being the best noobie coach you could ever ask for.
-Nathan Pipenberg for being ridiculously good and making me want to be even better.
-Jon Schneider for his awesome tips and exposing me to NYFA.
-Ivan Iakimenko and Ryan Morris for being great shred partners and leading the PSU club to new heights
-The Whole PSU Crew for letting me teach newcomers and learning from them as well
-NYFA
So for tonight I'm signing out. Like I said,
This isn't even my final form.
