Joulukalenteri 2013 - Day 7. Kemmer / Polini

Today you shall all get a taste of the east coast of America, from two lads with very different styles. Knowing their friendship was budding, I asked them to make a video for the calendar, with the specific emphasis on doing something "different" than they have done before. Ideally, schmelting a video for all of you christmas enthusiasts to enjoy. So here it is,

Nick Polini and Matt Kemmer.

Nick:
Hi every buddy! Merry celebrational festivities during this joyous handful of various holidays! Welcome to Day 7: St. Nick is Kemmering to Town. (Fun fact: My dad told me that he always like the name "Nicholas" because of Santa Claus, so I am somewhat named after Satan… I'm sorry, "SANTA")

Matt Kemmer and I did this video together. We thought it would be fun because we both are inspired by each other's game and we're both phucking weird in our own ways. The video is themed. Hopefully that is totes obvi. We chose to open up with a random funny video of each of us a few years ago that very few people have seen. This video also displays our strange'itivity. I wanted to film some more stuff but a recent knee injury kept me from doing so. But we figured it would be calendar-worthy.

As far as personal footbag goes, I have been drilling hardcore, every other night and sometimes every night (up until my injury). Working a lot on Blinks because they're the coolest trick in the world (Big ups to Jay and Johnny for ripping at those), Drifters, Rev Swirls, And a bit of Stepping Ducking. That's the main stuff I've been schooling recently. Anyway, We hope you enjoy our video.

Matt:
Jay came to Nick originally with the idea for the two of us to do a video for the calendar. We both liked the idea, and tried to capture two things: our difference in styles and trick selection, as well as how fucking weird the two of us are. I hope that both of those come out as you watch the video. In terms of specific tricks/links that are here, there are two links that are very much the other persons’ style that we both did

Nick has become a great friend and an integral part of my return to footbag this past year, so it was an honor to share the screen with him. I can’t say what Nick’s intro clip is other than what it looks like, but mine is part of a recreation of a scene from Holy Grail I did a few years ago. I used balloon people as the other actors (as seen) and have only shown it to a few people prior to this. Nick and I had a lot of fun making this video, so we hope you enjoy watching it!

That was really great to watch!

Matt, I'm so glad that you are still playing and so well at that. I'm also happy to see you rocking those old school shirts from NYFA and SCF!

Nick- you're getting so consistent and big with your tricks- it's really exciting :)

East Coast!!! Really hope to catch up with you guys around NY if you're in town for NYE :)

Hahaha.
I think the ending clip was the best.
Really loved the pdx blender > mobius drill. Such crank.
You guys are both awesome at hacky. Great stuff. And that Rick Astley song isn't just actually great, it's really fitting... Loved the last two tricks. Also really liked the 4... blinks? Is that what that trick is called? Style. Matt has the precise and textbook style and Nick has the weird, unique tricks and links. Great contrast :)

Wow! Such video! That was awesome, guys. Your styles complement each other's in weird ways.

You've also shown that a rick-rolling hurts a little easier when lubed up by some gnarsty footy footy.

Much props!

Awesome video! Great idea with the combination and really funny intros. Matt's shred reminds me of early Ales!

Bonus info: I tried to make out with Rick Astley's daughter this summer. She thought I was a freak.
