thanks asmus!

eastcoasts was fun. winning circle there has been an almost career long goal so that felt good to complete, even if it was silly battle hack:lol: which although i didn't dig it too much, certainly was interesting. random lowlights:-

-pretty big turnout with fun sideline shred. penn state repped hard and i think i even played with all of them possibly? cassy taylor is good too.
-matt kemmer reading spanish harry potter.
-watching derek from psu clear symp quantum were it was super leggy and merlin-esque.
-pete burning in the backseat of the cab and at the trainstation. 8O
-nick doing my slightly stoned epiphany: wink or rev swirling inside stall (i feel like i've seen penske do this before?) which he got on bs and wink up (rev up inside) or two in the wink as i'd like to call it. sooo styley.
-nick polini. in the year and a quarter or so that i havent shredded with him in person he's improved immeasurably. he was throwing down dense strings with phat stuff like zooming out of twirls on both sides, mobii, stepping ducking, styly shuffle links and crazy swirling and rev swirling tricks all over the place in and out of cool shit. tough single tricks are there too, i saw big apple easily, nuke ss twirl first try crazy uptime blink and revup tricks. bottom line is nick is nasty and deservedly so. i easily enjoyed kicking with him he most this weekend and i'm stoked to shred with him again.
-i played pretty inconsistent that weekend but just enough to guy everyone in battle hack i guess. i had a few really dense runs that felt good and i think what i was most happy with was pdx torque>jani first try in front of boatz mc and nick. felt good to get that finally. boatz and matt were killing it and a blast to kick with as always too.

first 2 real seshes since eastcoast today and yesterday. i tweaked my knee on a symp rev swirl last week so i took a little time off to heal up, chill and beat gta v. kicked a the skatepark yesterday with some homies and even played a little hack with some young bucks. decided im going to work on quantum a shiton the next month or so. i feel like im ok at it and if i put in a little practice drilling getting better at it will improve my variety. some stuff from yesterday and just now solo (alot of these are polini inspired) :

felt really controlled and laid back past 2 days, had some fun dense runs.

-blubberman. first one in over two years. felt good.
-blazing butter>pdx blender
-spinning pickup>toe blur bsos
-pixie ss mirage>slap>rpt
-pixie ss mirage>tap>slap bsos
-quantum torque bs. new on both.
-quantum osis>marius
-stepping mirage>slap bsos with blur>toe blur almost bsos in a long string.
-toe blizzard x2 bs, with a quantum muted clip and toe blur bsos in one of the seals
-ended on a new 7...alpine marius....from osis

ending on a bad note, but i think remi and i may be soley repping mass for the next few months :/

word.

Yo Kev, sorry I forgot to comment in this when I first read it. Thanks for the mention. That means a lot and pushes me to only get better. I still dont think I'm that good yet, but I appreciate the compliments :) You were a blast to hang out with that weekend, wish we chilled more though. Miss you dude. Why the fuck do you have to live in Boston? That's so far haha Lets skype sesh soon. YUH.

-bs toe blur bsos

not much hacky the last few weeks sadly. work/running out of daylight/life things keep cockblocking the shred, which usually happens this time of year anyways but without school i was hoping to get some more sessions in before the real bad weather starts.

my string length/density haven't been amazing lately but i've been trying styler stuff with some success.

-elbow catch b2b :)
-ripstein>pdx whirling swirl
-pdx torque>fog>long run
-lots of blinks, frontside toe blurs and spinning whirls both sides. got toe far muted blink on one side, it is obvious nick polini i am not.
-a lot of consecutive pdx whirls and barfly b2b reps. the latter especially feels good lately, flip barfly is starting to feel a little less...flip.

trying to hopefully get a sesh in tomorrow. really need to fall into a good workout/shred/exercise regime, i got a new car in the past week so thats going to be an easier goal to achieve. i know if i can go to the gym consistency i'd be sooo much better at shred plus i could use some natural energy.

word.

Yes dude. Good job on the toe far muted blink. That's my favorite highlight here, and I am completely biased lol I love blinx. You can get it flipside man, just set it normal.. pivot 90 degrees while powering through the muted dex. If you can do one you can do the other! Consider it a challenge ;) sick other highlights though. Blink was the best though lol. Keep doing those. Cant wait to shred with you again. Peace man.

wordup nick...i think i only did one blink today.

tried to play denser today, it was fun and challenging, had a few good runs but its definitely something im gonna work on each session. i feel like i have cool links but lame strings, i think if i can start schooling unique density i can utilize more of my trick selection other then bops zooming stepping and whirls lul.

-fs toe blur b2b finally
-sidewalk swirl bs...new on both
-swirling gyro mirage bsos...flip is new??
-spinning pdx dlo bs...done a long time ago, just felt really on today. good trick.
-stepping bag slapping inside kick elbow catch set osis>pdx torque and outside pixie knee bumping flying osis as pete tribute combos.

highlights arent that great but it felt good to play. session tomorrow hopefully, i wanna hit more whacky wonton shit.

also kcrow has been killing it too but nobody told me.

Yo b. Sweet lights. Again, fs toe blur b2b is so prime. I was thinking about that last session. Then I realized id have no chance with either trick and I did some sad pixies instead :P

I'm glad I got you to drill this morning! Definitely a highlight of my morning. Looking forward to seeing more progress dude. You rip man. I still look up to you as a player and as a friend. Keep it going.

I played 5 times last week 8O and already twice this week. I'm starting to force myself into a exercise routine in hopes of giving myself more natural energy, putting on some muscle fo da shorteez and generally for better mental health and positive vibes. I realize i haven't exactly set myself up for success in the past few years so this is the year i wanna get shit popping off. I've applied to about 30 jobs, had a few rejection letters and one interview so I know I just have to not give up and keep pushing, in regards to everything.

On fridays sesh i took a few oil dabs before shredding and it was a pretty crazy experience, having never dabbed from a rig or played footbag after, i wasn't sure what i was in for. I ended up having one of the best sessions i've had string/form wise in months, felt like i had tunnel vision on the footbag for about 4 1/2 hours haha. I warmed up with fairy set and hit 4 or 5 new drills pretty easily with my most inconsistent, neglected set that now feels like it has clicked. Strings were the true highlight though, had several around 40 with huge density, nice stalls and good flow. one string had a nice 10 contactish deep smog>legbeater>blur>dimwalk>ripwalk>stepping whirl>barrage>egg>pixie whirl>spin whirl>stuff>ending on mullet, felt like it was all in slow motion. i don't remember what it started with but my friend phil said it was one of the best runs he'd ever seen me do...not true but made me feel good. i hope no one judges me for this paragraph.

making a vid for the xmas calender. so far i only have about 20 seconds of usable footage but thats fine. Given that the majority of the calender is all gonna be shred that makes me look like a bitch, i'd like to avoid single big tricks that people like milan/aleksi/anz/big jay own. it's going to be heavily weird trick/link based, if you'd like to see some phat combo let me know :D

we filmed a bit as my friends skated and i liked how my strings looked (unlike yesterday :() so thats a plus. herez some guylights:
-barfly x3. really pathetic but clean and felt good.
-jani>ps egg....wtf 8O
-torque>mobius both sides
-symp bubba beater bs..at least one side was new, much easier now came one after another.
-sunil>pdx torque
-mobius x2...first time with a good seal and first time in lavers 8O

so word....hopefully shredding with remi tonight, i'd like to guy him to play a shitload this year kid would be ridiculous.

i don't know what the fuck you just said little kid, but you special. jokes, miss you danklas its been too long brother. funny, i totally guyed that link from Ken (and theres internet bread crumbz to prove so) and thats the one link that stuck out the most. i got it like 3 times in that sesh too. weird. hope everyone that bothered to watch my vid liked it though, i like how my game looks in lavers. best choice i ever made footbag wise thanks nick

footbag is on the back burner. i got lavers for my birthday but havent really found time/space/motivation to use them. I plan on modding them tonight but heres some highlightz from my first sesh with them (all unmodded fresh out the box) breakin em in the vasek way as usual so every trick i can do bs.

-far flying legover bsos midrun one side linked genuinely (just to whirl :? ). one of my better runs that day aswell.
-fairy gyro pickup bs new on both
-fairy ss whirling swirl and pdx whirling swirl first try
-fairy gyro mirage bs new on flip
-symp egg bsos, new sadly.

started a new job today and it fucking kicks ass, my girlfriend kicks ass too despite that my week has been pretty soul crushing, alot of stuff to heavy for a hack forum. 2013 was overall a really awful year. i wish i was hanging out in ny on new years.

hopefully play tomorrow or something.

Again, Kevin, sorry for goading you to switch to Lavers, but I just could see that your Units were holding you back. I'm glad you like the fact that you switched over. Your game looks free now. Really loving the weird stuff you've been messing with. Since you convinced me to film, I'm gonna ask you to film more too. I'd like to see more of your game. No one else is doing cool flying runs and getting praised by Lon "God of Stuff" Smith.

Man, I wanna shred with you again soon. It's been too long.

Sick highlights too.

I think (whatever set) Flying Legover> DOD would look really rad... so.. consider that a challenge.

Good luck with everything man. I can't pretend to know how that is, but just know I'm a phone call away if you need an open ear.

Best wishes, brother.

first good sesh of the year, stuff between drilling:

-gyro clip>fog bs
-gyro clip>spinning clip> rpt spin whirl bs
-tripwalk>haze>tripwalk>almost haze
-toe whirl>drifter>whirl>drifter>spin>gyro>rpt>duck>dive>rpt>ps whirl hand.
-ps egg>atomic clipper 8O

haze>quantum whirl. (polini request)

getting there. drilling when i can is paying off.

fun sesh with Vince from MI, who was cool as shit and hitting some styley stuff. He's super hyped on hacky and im probably the shittiest person to play with when your in that mode but we had fun and i hope i gave him some decent enough advice and that i didn't suck too bad. I remember lots of styley rake tricks, pixie sets that looked on their way and he also hit inside quantum op toe mad times, with more then enough time for a butter or something.

my form felt really shakey and uncontrolled but found my center near the end of the sesh, few good things i remember:

-ps whirling swirl, first try felt baller. footed it a few times but coudent get it again. fluke on fluke crime.

-inside quantum flying legover & inside symp quantum legover...inventions?

-alot of stuff i don't really do that i should do more...ripsteins, fun vince inspired rakes barroques and stuff.

- one or two good runs where the bag felt like i ran that shit.

drill sesh later yo!

first outdoor session today was pretty up and down, hit some new drills but need new laves desperately.

stuff:
fear>atom rpt
dimwalk>fog rpt
gyro clip x12 new pr :/ (gonna work to double that) whats good is i hit 12 twice in two tries so i know i can break it soon.
weaving butter>ps egg
dive>spin>gyro>gyro>duck rpt (done this a few times now)
spinning whirl>gyro clip>rpt
matador>fog>whirling swirl

sucks i miss every event in april because my boss is on vacation and i have to help cover the shop :/ on the other hand it's gonna be good experience and is a good chance to step up. I really wanna go out to a footbag event/shred with someone soon.

filming a bit probably make a vid by the end of the week.

peace!

Sick Kevin. Great highlights man. So jealous of almost everything. Nice job with 12 Gyro Clips twice! Just spend time with Gyro Clipper b2b, once you spend a few weeks with it, it will feel like nothing. I think you will break 40 before you know it.

I really miss shredding with you dude. Bummed you can't make it to PSU. But sounds like it's for a great reason. I'mma smoke a blunt and hit Haze, Blaze, and Smoke for you :P jk.. Really looking forward to that video.

Also, I wanna try that Atom> Fear drill. That would look dope.

Keep up the good shreds!

7evinkogan wrote:. I really wanna go out to a footbag event/shred with someone soon.
the same day i typed that a dude from haverill who played years ago and is already apparently tiltless hit me up so looks like we're playing in Beverly tomorrow. should be fun. haverill actually has some pretty sick spots to shred in the summer also. pete should also be healed by then (rumors of him hitting atw and clipper, rumors ) so hopefully this will be a good spring/summer season for shred.

sucks not being able to do anything in april but if anyone wants to hit up state college for a weekend in early may or something i'll definitely be down.

played outside again today and it was pretty fun. strings were the best they've been in months, drilling is paying off much.heres what i remember:

-fog>phoenix bs...need to work flip fog>pixie ducking a bit more and that drill should be gucci.
-stepping whirl>ps whirl dense bsos
-witch doctor>double pickup>run
-some long runs with good variety, lots of spinning and fives.
these last two inspired by Nick.
-alpine atom smasher>whirling swirl
-flip alpine atom (new)

shredding in good weather feels so nice. good vibes shred and everything else to yous.
