SOS! Save our ship! This Boatz is blowing up! :B
I was pretty stupefied that you only recently hit your first 5> 5
I know you could easily hit some other good and uncommon 5> 5's
Anyway, ridiculous stuff dude. Keep it up.

East Coastsss was BOSS!
Had such a fun time hanging with all the peeps. Bad taste, samarai cop, all the high jinx on ben's roof, (throwing hotdogs, stealing beers, beef patties stuck to walls), bacon pizza, so much footbag,
Its always great to play with people that i dont regularly get to play with. Probably had the best time playing with bowler. Surging spike hammer and his run with pdx torque b2b + mobius b2b really stuck out to me. Awesome to see kemer hit an ass load of blazing concepts from like osis-y tricks. Also all the guying of tricks that was happening in the final circle of the tournament.
heres some highlights that i can remember:
-pixie simple reverse swirl
-blur-egg beater > simple reverse swirl
-my two dads (double dada)
-what
-butterfly swivel
-crispy torque > inspining osis
-midtimy pixie dolamite
-was hitting that flow zone a lot on saturday. This is probably my favorite part of freestyle
footbag is the bomb!

Re: david owen beyers
thanks Cassy! you were totally rippin at East Coasts! I think my favorite run of yours from the tournament was the one with a lot of simple swirl stuff and i think you also had a twirl in there. Great stuff!
We had a session at Washington Square Park this weekend. It was hella fun! It was very hot for an october day and I am all about that heat. When i got to the park i started kicking next to this drum circle of 4 peeps. It turned out to be a "pop the question" drum circle and these people got engaged via drum circle. Pretty coool except that the drum circle dudes stoped playing after the ring was shown (and a little dancing to drumming happened). So Tick and Tack did their thing after the drummers finished. LIve drums from the twins, yes, but not the drum circle peeps, bummer. Good Drum Circles are my favorite thing to play footbag to.
Outsider, Dole, Ben Little, Greg, and Me for this one. Drew was supposed to play but didnt wake up until 6:30pm that day, at which time we were grabbing after session food.
I had an awesome footbag day. I love playing the weekend after a tournament cuz i feel more confident or something. My knee was feeling kinda shity the whole time but i kinda just ignored it. Def had some sweet runs. the only run i remember is, I started the run with a ducking cross body rake and hit blurriest mid string and kept going. Ben said the blurriest was super clean, which is cool cus i have a tendency to the those when attempting mid string.
I really hope this weather lasts. Going to try and shoot some Sick 1, Sick 3, Ten contact combo, weird trick stuff this week.

Re: david owen beyers
Played yesterday wid the club in NYC at this Flamenco studio. At the entrance of the place was an asshole door guy who obviously hated his life and gave everyone a hard time (with the exception of Outsider). Pretty Funny
Katya and Dan Ednie (Australian Fame) were there. DAN is going to be in NY for a full month which is awesome cuz that dude rips and gives good tips
I hit swivel
sumo
double over down swirl! (Second Time)
Blazing butter (Third time i think)
quantum same mirage > Blender
Footbag is a cool sport

Re: david owen beyers
Broats. Some updates would do the trick
Hit one totally inspired by you the other day. Symposium Blink bs. Ever since I saw you hitting Symp Blinks, I've wanted them so badly. So thanks for the inspiration! Update, son!
Re: david owen beyers
Had a fun sesh with Tristan yesterday at Stoney Brook University. I was coming off a stomach flu or something like that, that hit me a week prior. I still didnt have all of my energy, and it was an extremely exhausting experience. But... I still managed to hit some cool stuff.
-vortex
-really close to gyro symple reverse swirl
-figured out how to do this like... lift your foot up with the bag on it and then do a swirl with the support leg. I did this trick midtime and set from my left toe. I usually do this trick on my right toe, but with more of an uptime thing going on. I was happy to figure it out on my left toe! Especially because swirl is a concept that does not exist in my game. I really hate swirl from clipper. im pumped that i can now do a swirlly move, but in a weird, cheating kinda way.
-I hit this really weird, kinda dexles trick that reminds me of something ryan thomasyy. I go up for a symple reverse swirl but bail to gyro toe. Set from right toe - symple reverse swirl dexing with right leg - bail to gyro toe (catching on right toe)
-Me and tristan practiced some tiltless drills
-superfly
-spinning gyro toe!!! such a fun trick (flash inspired obviously)
-really crappy second fearless link that im not even counting. Paradox dada curve > far motion hahaha. the dada curve is def not a dada curve, more of a refraction. I def do it wrong but im not worried about it cuz the shit result is still pretty styallie.
-hit three different three contact shuffle. cant really remember what it was
-Tristan was giving me advice on toe barrage. I think this is such a cool trick but dont tend to do it cuz i am constantly "the"ing it. I think a cool combo I want to try would be barrage, toe barrage, paradon
-Symposium blink
Tristan hit a run with
-torque BSOS
-he ended a sick string with mobeus
-marius (pretty pulled but wateves, its not like hes practicing)
-dragon life
blind dragon stall from his back
I was thinking up a seven string combo that I want to try. Toe drifter > gyro clipper> drifter > spinning clipper > dlo > fairy mirage > drifter
Super pumped for next weekend and PSU jamps! Going to be a lot of cool people there. Nick p., sorry i didnt update sooner. I totally overlooked you posting in my bloggy. Im glad that i inspired you to hit the symposium blinks! Now i have to be inspired by you cuz i can only hit it one side. Also exited to see your secrets. If i would guess, Im going to say that your hitting like alpine food no problem by now

Cool! I like to do this too. I like using the uptime way to pivot and hit a toe out of it... sort of like toe swirling toe.boats wrote:-figured out how to do this like... lift your foot up with the bag on it and then do a swirl with the support leg. Re: david owen beyers
JAMPS was bomb!
Probably the biggest tournament Ive been to since a funtastics or something like that
It was cool to meet and shred with all the new peoples
Greg was an awesome host. I thought it was hilarious that he didnt tell his roomate that we were sleeping over. This guy cooked us breakfast both mornings. Let us play super smash bros. Showed us the college experience. Played chill beerpong with water cups.
State college is kinda a weird place. I dont think i could live there. It just spews the college vibe.
Watching Penske rip was awesome.
Dante is too good.
Canada represents.
Jonny hit toxic
PSU intermediate players consistency is so great! They string for so long. Going to be interesting to see all of them evolve
Ryan Thomas... what more do I have to say
Drew running into a bush and then slowly falling over... followed by me pushing him back in
I had the best time playing with Yanek. His variety is amazing. Some hot links from this guy for sure. Heres a video he made from october https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziPwjSKm3Rw
A circle that I would love to be in would consist of Flash, Yanek, and Pete Bowler
I def played too much footbag at this tournament. It was totally worth it. I cant wait to shed off some rust for the upcoming season.
PSU threw a great tournament! It was one of the most organized events that I have ever been to.

For some reason, THIS popped out as the event I was saddest to miss by not going.boats wrote: Drew running into a bush and then slowly falling over... followed by me pushing him back in
Re: david owen beyers
Yeah I'm pretty sad I missed that moment also
Thanks for being one of the only people that can make me laugh by stringing hack tricks. You're the shit.

Re: david owen beyers
had a little drill sesh today. Just practicing basics, sets, and links on both sides. I was practicing atw's, tiltless, osi, stepping sets, pixie sets, torques, I was trying some links too. sidewalk>drifter, Drifter>osis>drifter, ducking osis>drifter. I ended the session hiting mobius
This nice weather has been great. Def want to drill more basics / rebuild my foundation. I love that a lot of beginner players blog about what they are doing to build foundation. It motivates me to keep practicing fundamentals. I remember last summer, i would usually have 2-3 drill sessions M-F (mostly practicing basics), and focus on shred with NYFA on the weekend. That seemed to really help my consistency and allow for me to hit that flow zone easier
