Re: MetZelRio is getting Epic-er

Post by MetZelRio »

Out of the blue I got hit with a sickness that was not unto death. However, there was one point where I did wonder if I might actually die, but then I realized i wouldn't die, I was TOO SICK TO DIE. But the Sickness went away nearly as fast as it set in. So, I'm back. And I had another epic sesh. (Sorry Aaron... no more down time for me!)

Because I knew that my Osis was not good, I decided to train out of them, like the following links I did:

 Osis>near mirage
 Flip Osis>near mirage
 Osis>Pdx Mirage
 Flip Osis>Pdx Mirage
 Osis>near pickup
 Flip Osis>near pickup
 Osis>Far Pickup
 Flip Osis>Far pickup
 Osis>Near legover
 Flip Osis>Near legover
 Osis>Far legover
 Flip Osis>Far legover
 Osis>Near illusion
 Flip Osis>Near illusion
 Osis>Pdx illusion
 Flip Osis>Pdx illusion

I felt like I wanted to learn  Blizzard, so I did, I hit it twice on both sides, even to strings.

 8 guiltless (so smooth and controlled and ended intentionally because it was time to)

I hit 3 strings that I've been working on for months. You'll see. (milestones) Omgosh, seriously, milestones for me. video coming soon. KTHXBAI

Thanks Aaron! I seriously appreciate your feedback, and for clicking props! (you too Funstylin) The things that were the ultimate difficulty for me were the flipside inside stall to wrap around, the Osis x 6, the infinity x 6 (oops I did eight, my bad)

The Kevin Hogan? I remember watching the jamps circle comp finals video, and I knew Jay Boychuk, and I knew Zach Jahner, and I knew Nathan Pipenberg, but who is that dude who just BEAT ALL THEM GUYS?!!?!?!?!?! omgosh! epic freaking win for the freaking win. I know who you are now! I also absolutely flipped out with Nick when you did Fury BSOS in that new vid too.

TODAY'S SESH:

I actually have been dreaming, literally dreaming of doing this trick and now it is a reality. I hit it a WHOLE bunch of times BOTH SIDES, flipside FIRST TRY and Almost B2B even! I also dream of hitting paradox drifter, flail and PS eggbeater. Dream until your dream comes true.

New Shoes Sesh MetZelRio

Post by MetZelRio »

I want to be known as a player who really utilizes illusions. I have to do Symp Mantis one day. I needed to practice some links into and out of illusion so I did:

 Mirage>illusion bsos
 Pickup>illusion bsos
 Legover>illusion bsos

Two new tricks I hit on my flipside tonight and didn't just do them flipside:

 Paradon Bsos
 Revup Bsos

Beside all that:
 Mirage, Illusion, Pickup and legover all bsos, and I got it done twice.

That used to be a HUGE milestone for me. now its just a drill. I think i improved a little bit.

because my osis is weak:
 osis>ss clip>rpt drill
 a run with 10 osis, Bsos (not consecutive, but I kept hitting these osis in this one run and really good too... I didn't even drop on an osis... dang)

KRyan, thank you for the huge compliment. Its nuts to think someome thinks that of my game. Highly appreciated. I've been reading your blog and aint it cray cray what footbag can do to you? It can really get in your Head, and into your heart and it can really get addicting. for example... tonight, i honestly didn't want to practice... because my last practice was pretty darn discouraging. Almost as if... Ive reached a plateau... and I can't seem to break through to another level. I practiced anyway. And not only did I do quite well, but I ended on a fabulous note (Paradon BSOS) which I do believe is going to keep me hungry to practice next session. when I'm discouraged, I don't want to practice again, even though I love footbag... but when I'm encouraged.. I can't wait to practice again... even if I'm sore and tired.

footbag can be annoying at times, everyone experiences the 'down' side to it here and there but thats with anything you want to achieve something with. I always plan to hit a new move at the end of the session or a nice combo even if its a crappy session as you can always walk away feeling a little better. The one thing I always find helps push through the 'plateau' is something I heard from Honza Weber when he came to Japan once. He straight up said 'you put 100 percent into every trick, that's the czech way'. Ever since then I seriously just think, bam put all you got in constantly when practicing even if your tired/shitty session and it seems to work out great to be honest. Haha. Gratz on the paradon bsos!

Swirls are my favourite, props!

I recommend working on reverse swirls too. I focused a lot on Swirls and regretted not pushing rev sooner because there are tons of cool tricks that involve reverse Swirl like Twirl, Revup, Blink etc.

Crazy progress, keep it up!

Aaron, when I first started doing illusions, I thought the pretty much the same thing. I psyched myself out of believing I could do them. But now, they ain't too bad honestly.

Cass, I am so stoked to see your level 2 badge. Srs. I know it wasn't too difficult for you either which to me speaks volumes of your abilities. I did hit revup bsos the other day, but I think plain old reverse swirl may be a little Moir difficult, lol, that was an auto correct. *MORE*

Today's 30 minute practice:

Just drills
LIMP Drill
(Legover, Illusion, Mirage, Pickup all BSOS)
OSIS>Legover bsos
OSIS>pdx illusion bsos
OSIS>mirage bsos
OSIS>Pickup bsos

OSIS is getting very controlled.

Oh Dear Me, I'm Sore. I better not footbag for a couple of days because I've got Grand Rapids Sesh #2 coming in just a couple of days. I want to be able to at least do one half way decent toe delay.
