Yesterday I kicked with Ben and Ryan.
I don't think I really did anything much besides get tired quickly.
Though, I did have Ben count for me, and I ended up getting 11 tiltless.
I think I have been more or less getting around that recently, so I don't know. I just don't usually count or have someone count for me. Will work on increasing that number, regardless of counting. :D

Other than kick, I've had summer classes. Two of the three will be ending this week, and I'll only have an online one left, where I only have one assignment a week. I shall then be stitching and kicking more. Awesome! :)
Ideally, I would also be reading and being productive on top of all that, but we'll see how that goes. Perhaps I will also be filming more... That'd be cool.

Wow. It's been a while since I updated my blog, but that's because I felt like I haven't been having amazing breakthroughs or anything. Since my last post though, I have been reflecting on where I am and where I want to be in footbag. Also, I've at least been stitching some bags with all the free time I now have since two of my three classes are over. (I ended up with an A in one and a B+ in the other :D ).

Anywho, today was more of a drill-filled day that was somewhat spontaneous. Ben more or less joined me in my drills, which was nice.
Highlights:
 Legover x50 (25 bs)
 Pickup x50 (25 bs)
 Mirage x10 bs
 Clipper>ss Clipper x20 bs
 Clipper>Far Legover x10 bs
 Infinity x12 (6 bs)
 Osis x?? (Ben and I were sort of trying for the Hot Trick Competition and we weren't counting how many we did; I also tried to keep Matt K's tips in mind and felt that I hit some pretty good Osii...though not consecutively)
 At the end of the session, I aimed for 10 tiltless, but ended up with 9... NEXT TIME!

After the session, Ben and I stretched together, which is good. Help the muscles! :)
I'm also excited for the Arts Fest Summer-Mini Jam at PSU this coming weekend.

I'm also also excited for ECFC in the Fall because Ben has been talking me through it and inspiring me to compete AND do well... Which sounds pretty doable, especially this early on. I'll just need to practice practice practice and do more things like today. :D

9 tiltless is killer good! Props :-) try to use ss clipper> op clipper *rpt in there somewhere and then throw some more clippers in and that is the easiest way to get 10 and higher numbers of tiltless. I also can't wait for the mini jam this weekend. I'm looking forward to shredding, as well as doing a few workshops for you guys. Also, I think you and Ben will be happy to know that you two have inspired me to stitch again. Will try to finish a bag tonight... First one in... almost a year lol

Nick: Thanks! And awesome about stitching again :D

Ben: Yay! :) I enjoy kicking and improving with you (also)!

Last night (nights in general recently), I've been having trouble getting to sleep, although it's not as bad as staying up half the night. I usually get to bed between 12AM and 2AM, which doesn't seem that bad, but I feel bad for Ben when he has to work early in the morning and therefore sleeps earlier. But as I was saying, last night when I was having trouble sleeping, I was browsing footblogs on my phone. I like reading people's footblogs because it's awesome to see how open everyone is, and how much you can learn about other players. For example, I just learned why Brian Sherrill is referred to as Bear, and how weird Jay is (of course, I say that jokingly because I can't really gauge how weird he is since I haven't met him yet). I also figured that some people write in their footblogs as if they could be writing books! Crazy! (Not to point fingers, but Jay and Ken). Because of this, I skim... No offense. I would really like to read them... Perhaps as a bedtime story, I could eventually get myself through the tens, hundreds, thousands of posts. It also reminds me of when I used to blog, which I guess I sort of miss.

Anywho, I digress. But all in all, I think it's really inspiring to read other people's blogs because it helps drive me to become better at footbag. I could read about people who I view as really good (ex: names listed above amongst others) and their journey to where they are now, or I could read about people who are newer or around my level of shred and how/what they're doing (a good example is Dan who kicks with Matt K).

It's been about a year now since I started kicking, and I want to get better. As it's been said before (by others and myself), I really enjoy the community, and I really love the sport. I'm not sure if I aim to be BAP'd anymore, but I want to be involved with the sport and I want to be really, really good.

In other news, I drilled a little bit with Ben this morning before he had to go to class and work (again).
Highlights:
 ATW/Orbit x15 bs
 Clipper>ss Clipper x20 bs
 10 attempts at Illusion bs
 10 attempts at Drifter bs
 Wrap x5 bs (freezing the stalls)

Little Note: I probably did more than 10 attempts for the tricks, but let's just say roughly 10.

Also, Arts Fest is coming up and so are some cool players! :D That's exciting. In preparation for this, so far I have made sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and plan to make some more desserts.
I'm also hoping to get some good tips in person. :)

P.S. It would be cool to meet Brian, Ken, and Derek at East Coasts, as well as see everyone else again. :D

So, after I submitted my last post, I decided that it was sort of pathetic for the morning session and set out to have another session. Just as I was about to stretch and start, Ben came back home from work, and joined me in the session.

Highlights:
 Legovers x~100 (~50 bs)
 Pickups x~50 (~25 bs)
 Clipper>near Pickup x~10 bs
 Osis practice
 Clipper>same Mirage bs

Arts Fest Jam Write-Up

Friday:
Well, actually following into Friday, I had been making a lot of desserts. I suppose I was trying to figure out where everyone was going to be, so that stressed me out a bit. Desserts for Arts Fest Jam! I made sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, white chip cookies, and some sort of gone-wrong-yet-doesn’t-taste-bad angel food cake cupcakes filled with custard.
Image
After I finished making the white chip cookies, which were the last thing I made, I sort of just *had* to get out of the house. I ended up going to Sheetz with Ben, after he was done kicking with Nathan Bonslaver, and we got food. They have good fries. This was the second time I had them because they don’t have Sheetz on the West Coast, or at least in San Diego. Then we decided to walk back to Ben’s place (aka what I call home now, since it’s with Ben :) ), and on the way back, we (Ben) stopped at the liquor store and picked up some amaretto and cheap wine-stuff.

We got back to Ben’s place and waited a while, as Nick Polini and Ryan Thomas would show up between 9 and 10 PM (more towards 10PM). Nick and Ryan arrived and settled in Ben’s place with their stuff, and then we all got ready to set out to shredhaus. Being Arts Fest, there were lots of drunk people (since it’s basically a reason for people to party at State College, I guess). We eventually got to shredhaus to see Ivan and Ryan, since Matt Kemmer and Dan Carey hadn’t arrived yet.

Apparently, Ryan Thomas hadn’t been to shredhaus before, so that was something. He ended up signing the wall with something other than his name, perhaps a picture will show up sometime in the future. Then, we went to Ivan and Ryan’s room, where a lot of us discussed stitching-related things, such as fabric and bags, as well as played with Kat’s rats that Ivan’s been taking care of, Simi and Roo. Then, Nick and Ryan Thomas decided to kick downstairs around 12AM, and the rest of us joined.

Soon after heading to the basement area of the place, Matt and Dan showed up. Ben politely asked Matt if he would help him with Toe op Butter>pdx Mirage rpt. Then, I found out that Matt’s racist because he made me feel very offended in under five minutes. One example: Somehow my last name was brought up (Tou), and he had said Towel. I replied saying that there was someone/people when I was in kindergarten who had “pronounced” it that way before. Then, Matt went on to say that maybe when my parents passed Ellis Island that they thought it was “too Asian” and decided to shorten it to “Tou.” Thanks Matt. I have never been so offended in my life. (By the way, this is sarcasm. I am not THAT offended.) I also realized that I was the only non-white person in the basement at this time, so thanks for that too.

Around 2-3AM, Ryan Thomas, Nick, Ben, and I went to see if any buses were running still. We waited for a bit, and figured that no buses were to come. Then, we tried calling many different taxi companies to find that many were busy (or something), and finally got a taxi to pick us up, and someone else who seemed to be heading to the same area as us.
When we got back to Ben’s place, we all kind of chatted for a bit, and slept (at around 4AM).

Saturday:
Saturday morning, I woke up at 9AM and began preparing home-made pancake (batter). It’s cool because they’re basically delicious and nutritious! I make them with bran, whole wheat flour, oatmeal, and cornmeal as a base. For this morning, we had the options of adding white chocolate chips, mini chocolate chips, and bananas to our pancakes. Yum! (Ben cooked the pancakes. Thanks love!)

Then, the four of us got ready to head to campus/Old Main. We *just* missed the bus when we were about there, so we ended up walking.
Image
Ben ended up taking a bus back to his place because he forgot his kicking lavers, but Nick, Ryan, and I got to Old Main. I called Matt to see where they are (him, Dan, and Ivan, since Ryan Morris worked all day). They were at Irving’s (a café downtown), and would be up in a half hour or so. Shortly after that, Cassy had found us (currently still only Nick, Ryan, and I). Yay! I was afraid she might not have found us, but I am very glad everything went swimmingly.

Other people who showed up throughout the day, in no particular order (since I don’t remember), were Chrissy Fryer, Aidan Reilly, Nathan Bonslaver, and Marc Peralta. Around 1:30 PM (not everyone just listed were here yet), most of us started kicking. For some part of the session, I ended up in a circle with Matt, Nick, and… Ryan Thomas, I believe. I had probably my best string thus far in that circle, which was cool, and also got props for it. Apparently, I improved, since Nick hadn’t expected me to be so consistent (I think is what he had said) in stringing tiltless back to back, since at Jamps (3 months ago) where I had a lot of toe stalls buffering my game.
Image
Lots of kick happened, as did a lot of sweating, and the drinking of water. When Matt was taking a short break, he helped me with my Osis and Infinity. They were both very tiring and there was a LOT of sweating involved. I felt like a lot of progress was made, especially with my Infinities. Thank you very much, Matt! :)

After I cooled down for a bit from all the hard work with my Osis and Infinity, I was deciding if I wanted to kick still or not. I was very, very tired after all that. I might have done a little bit more kicking, but not as well as earlier, and then learned Symple Legover from Ryan Thomas. I ended up hitting it both sides, which was cool. Thanks Ryan!

Towards the end of the session, and also after the session was over, many people got ice cream and root beer floats. The first group who had gone to the Creamery was Marc, Chrissy, and Cassy. And at some point, Cassy gave Marc, Ben, and I awesome massages. Thanks Cassy! You’re very cool! Then, the second group of people who got floats was Ivan, Matt, and…? I’m sorry, I actually wasn’t paying too much attention at that point.

But after that, we all parted for showers and food. Ben, Cassy, Ryan, Chrissy, and I took the bus back to Ben’s place. Chrissy and I first went to Giant (grocery store) to pick up dinner, while the others went to the liquor store first. When Chrissy and I got back to Ben’s place before the others, we both took showers. Then, Ben, Cassy, and Ryan arrived looking wet.

They had jumped in the pool beforehand, then they all took showers. Dinner was made, which was spaghetti, butter & herb pasta, and garlic bread. It was cheap and delicious for what it’s worth (rather than spending a lot of money on decent-yet-expensive food).

Before heading out to shredhaus, I had a (half) shot of Jägermeister with Ben and a friend of his roommates. I think it was my first time trying it, and I decided that I didn’t really like it because I don’t like black licorice, and it was a weird burning sensation (because alcohol, but weird in the sense that it came in bouts of burns rather than a continuous burn). Then, I had a shot of amaretto with his roommate who was excited because I don’t drink often and it was pretty much the first time I had cheers’d with him (I think is what he said) and I found the amaretto to be very tame (it was also my first time trying amaretto to my knowledge). Then, thanks to Cassy and Ryan (who had gotten it) I had a shot of tequila with lime.

We packed the desserts and got on a bus full of drunk people heading to probably, other parties. When we got to shredhaus, it was really warm. Lots of talking and laughing had occurred. I enjoyed it. At the beginning of hanging out, I pointed out to Nick that he sometimes made a sloth-like face.
Image
I think there was a consensus that the best cookie was the white chip oatmeal one. That’s cool. At some point in the night, Ivan was teaching Dan to stitch. More shots of tequila with lime were had. Ben had to leave early since he worked early in the morning.
Image
After Ben left, and more conversations were had, or at least just making fun of Marc, more tequila shots. I had one, then Marc agreed to have a shot if I would have one with him, so I had another one. Marc made a big deal about it because I don’t drink often, and I’ve never really drank with him before. Then, I got a buzz, which was cool.

While I was getting water from the kitchen, I saw Ryan just hanging there. Then, I was invited for the getting-smokes-because-Marc-ran-out adventure. It was a nice walk outside.
After we came back, it seemed that Matt and Ivan had gone to sleep early. The rest of us were just chilling and hanging out, which was fine with me. Nick was trying to sleep, but to no success for a while because Marc is SO loud.

At the end of the night, but before Ry-Mo (Ryan Morris) got off work, Ryan, Chrissy, Cassy, and I headed out by calling a taxi to pick us up at shredhaus. We got back to Ben’s place around 3AM, and I felt bad for Ben since he had to get up for work an hour or so after that. But then, we all went to sleep when we got back.

Sunday:
I woke up around 9:45AM on Sunday, and found out that everyone else was already awake. Ryan, Cassy, and Chrissy left early, taking Nick’s car to campus and checking out the booths for Arts Fest and having breakfast at The Corner Room (restaurant in downtown State College). I was still waking up and figuring out what to have for breakfast. As I was still in the process of waking up, Ben made me an egg scramble with cheese and sausage, that I ate with ketchup and it was very good. Thank you, Ben!

I got ready, dressed in my kick clothes, and Ben and I caught the bus and headed to Old Main. By the time we got there, Ryan, Chrissy, and Cassy were there. We all were waiting for the others, but no one picked up their phones. :P
Image
While waiting, Ben led some yoga exercises/stretches with Cassy, Chrissy, and Ryan. During the stretching, it started sprinkling, then we took our stuff and took shelter under Old Main (more under the entrance of the building rather than outside of the building area, where we kicked yesterday). It started raining a bit harder, but only shortly. Finally, Ry-Mo replied to my Facebook message, as did Ivan, saying that they were leaving shredhaus soon to meet up with us, but we moved the session to IST instead.

When we got to the IST bridge, Cassy offered me a fruit bar, which was really good. I chose the wildberry flavor rather than the peach (though I bet peach is also good). :D Thanks again, Cassy! You’re the best!

We waited, and eventually the first group of people arrived – Matt, Dan, and Ryan. Then, the second group came, Marc and Nick, who had stopped by the market to get water and stuff. Then, Ivan made his entrance. :) So, everyone was here.
Image
Kick. I was too tired from yesterday and wasn’t doing too well. I was very tired from the work done yesterday, but tried to kick a bit. I ended up mostly sitting out and watching others kick. But, at the end of the session, I tried stepping. I practiced with Ben off to the side, and got stepping op toe once. Yay for a new thing to practice! It’ll be nice for when I sort of get tired/bored of drilling. Thanks for the tips Ben and Nick!

Afterwards, we all split ways and said goodbyes. Ben and I ended up getting a ride from Nick and Ryan before they left, and it was also because Nick had left his toothpaste and toothbrush at Ben’s anyway. Then we officially said goodbye (for now).

That’s pretty much the end to my Arts Fest Jam (perspective). It was a bunch of fun, and I’m glad it happened. Thanks to everyone who came out!

All in all, cheers to improving! And cheers to bonding with friends and making new ones! :)

Cassy: Thanks for coming! I'm also glad you made the trip!

Ben and I tried having a morning session today and it kind of just wasn't happening. I did Pickup x25 and Mirage bs, and that kind of sucks. Perhaps I should ease into drilling, especially after Arts Fest Jam. That kind of killed my legs.

Besides that, for the past couple days, I've been reflecting and watching shred videos. I've been reading some footblogs and stuff. For my New Year's Resolution goals, I figured that the second half/last third of the list would just deter me in the sense that I should focus on basics rather than spread myself thin with concepts, so I have decided to let go of those goals for now. Some examples of the goals (so you don't have to try and find the list) include Spinning, Anchor bs, and DATW bs. The first half/first third of the list more or less seems more achievable at this point, and that makes me excited. Some examples of these include Legover x20 bsos, Drifter bsos, and Pickup x10 bsos. For now, I will be focusing on 2 ADDs, as well as some 3 ADDs for my game, as well as long (tiltless) contact strings.

I have also come up with a dream trick/link of my own. At first, when people were recently posting videos of hitting their dream tricks, I didn't really understand it, but I think after finally coming up with my own, I understand. I'm not sure if my dream trick would ever really be achievable, but I think it's a cool concept. Doof>Zulu Doof

Re: Set Phasers To Love Me! [April's Footblog (PSU)]

Post by bluevampire101 »

This isn't a progress post, but a reflection post. Or perhaps just a blog post.

So, personally, I check modified multiple times a day. It's one of the sites that I check religiously when I'm on my computer (others being gmail, facebook, and my school email). Recently, I've been checking modified on tapatalk like crazy (whenever I'm not near my computer) in hopes of new posts to read.

As I am so caught up on most of the recent jibber jabber, I've also come to realize that I'm not as educated on the older stuff. This led me to start reading (or at least skimming) people's blogs, especially Jay's because it's such an inspiration in many aspects. Reading other people's blogs inspires me to (in terms of footbag/blogs) kick more, stitch more, to write more, to read more, and pretty much overall be more active in the footbag community, although I am unsure of how to express it in ways other than words.

It has also come to my attention that there are blogs that I usually don't bother looking at, and that's not any offense to whomever's blog it is, but perhaps because I don't know them and am ignorant. So, while I'm on modified with free time, I've been looking at blogs (and other topics) I don't normally look at and learning more about the community. As for posting in other people's blogs, I'm at a loss of words for any excuse besides not knowing what to say.

Aside from that (as I lost my train of thought), I had been thinking about my progress in footbag. I'm unsure if I've been making excuses, or if I'm on the right track with this, but I've been (more or less) set on sticking with my drills/drilling in general. When it comes to things I want to learn, I feel as though I am not ready, and it might deter from my current progress. I have been saying that I don't want to spread myself thin trying other concepts, and would rather focus on what I think I should be getting good at such as form, string length, consistency, etc. Looking at other blogs, it seems as though a lot of people "jump the gun" (correct me if I'm wrong) with learning a lot of different tricks, but I don't know if I'm in any position to say such things as I'm such a novice to the sport. Perhaps I should be at least trying new tricks here and there, on top of drills, which is why I suppose I've accepted stepping as a new concept that I would work on for when I get bored or tired of the usual stuff.

I am hoping that this sort of mindset (to some extent) will help me in the long run with my footbag career, but I am also willing to accept that there might need to be adjustments to this sort of thinking. Maybe it's just a phase.

Anywho, I've recently been inspired with footbag videos and their editing, and I might be repeating what others have said before about how great Ivan and Jay are in the community, but it's true. It's awesome that they do it. Thanks guys.
This has inspired me to be more active in learning to edit videos and all the cogs and sprockets that go with it. (This is a very fresh thought - from the past day, that I've come up with talking to Ivan, and reading the recent posts in regards to this). Since Ben knows a bit about the topic, I figured I've got my foot in the door, and now I just need to step through it. With these recent thoughts, I also figured that I could play around with videos to start off, especially since Penn State has great resources. During the school year, I could definitely rent a camera out, string some footage together and see how that works out (unless perhaps they also do this sort of thing for the summer?).

Anyways, sorry for talking your ear off... or making your eyes fall out with all these words...?
Thanks for whoever reads this.

Yeah, me too! I also don't usually want to be the first to post under someone's blog post because I want others to see it come up in tapatalk and not see my response. But anyway, I usually don't know what to say for fear of sounding lame or ignorant or overpropping our underpropping. I like your blog though, and your game.

Yeah lots of people 'jump the gun' when it comes to hitting new/difficult tricks and concepts. This tends to really kill consistency and run length and also make for ugly style sometimes.

The way I look at it, there is nothing wrong with trying new tricks or concepts but if it takes you more the 5 or 6 tries to at least get close then you probably aren't ready for it yet.

There are lots of tricks that aren't super difficult that are just a matter of learning to do. If you want to mix it up I recommend trying stuff like dustpan, knee/calf bumps, pinchers, rakes etc.

I believe MediaTech over behind the ROTC building will still give you cameras for three days for free as long as you have a class that "requires" them. I know I used (abused) this privilege last year to great effect. Don't worry about typing a lot and posting it. Nobody is obligated to read all of it, but those who enjoy reading your blog will definitely like the increased content. Also, I have been thinking about those white chocolate cookies you made this weekend for the past few days. Those hit the spot.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback everyone! :D

This has motivated me to write more. Even if it's just a reflection on whatever. I actually was so excited that I came up with a list of things I could write about, though I know it wouldn't be the same as my last post.

I actually plan to kick with Ben once he gets out of class, but for now, I think I'm going write about my first ever PSU Jamps. (Only a year and a quarter late, right?). But this was the event that really got me into footbag because I found that the community was just wonderful.

PSU Jamps was happening pretty much a week or two after I had "joined" PSUFC. I was added into the Facebook group, and attended perhaps a meeting or two. I bought a 14-panel from Ivan and was learning toe stalls in my converse shoes, very poorly I might add. I don't really count this time as me starting footbag though because the school year was practically over and I didn't know what to do on my own.

I remember going to a Wednesday Workshop day, which was right before Jamps was about to happen. Anton had come in early, and it was outside of the HUB. He brought juggling balls, and I also had my juggling stuff (I believe) since I was still a part of the juggling club at the time. This was also when I met Khoa, Ben, and pretty much everyone in general.

After that, I was invited to attend Jamps, Old Main at 2PM. Of course, it was 2PM and no footbaggers in sight. I texted Nate to make sure it was still going on, and yeah, they were kind of on their way soon. I had my juggling stuff, and some other jugglers also came, which was cool. It was like, a footbag/juggling mix. I don't really remember all that went on Saturday for kick, but I do remember that no one wanted to judge comps, so it was more of a casual jam/hangout.

What I remember most about Jamps was the party Saturday night. I met a lot of people and had a lot of fun.

I was surprised that Ryan Thomas remembered me after meeting me at Jamps. But I suppose it's not so weird because I had pointed out that his handshake was weird. It might have just been that one time, but I said that his elbow pointed upward when we shook hands upon meeting. :D

I also remember meeting Matt Kemmer because he had the leopard(?) dyed pink hair, which was interesting. It really set him apart from everyone else. I met him when he was playing the piano in one of Nate's house-rooms...the den? And I talked to him about playing the piano, as well as telling him about my long list of weird hobbies/skills I want to have one day.

Some Hobbies/Skills That I Want to Have Eventually: Juggling, Magic, Footbag, Bartending, Metallurgy, Binding, Stitching, Lockpicking, Whittling, Unicycling, Glassblowing, (Free) Masonry, Programming, Morse Code, Coding/Languages, Camouflage, Circuitry, Forging, Papermaking, Ink Acquiring, Plucking/Defeathering, Skinning, Archery, Makeshift, Alchemy, Cleaning, Binary, Telekinesis, ESP, Pickpocketing, Cooking, Playing the Harmonica, Graffiti, Mental Math, Blacksmith, Churning Butter, Grinding Wheat, Conversing, Gymnastics/Staunts, Firebreathing, Rubik's Cube, Chemical Balancing, Jumpstart, Cultivating, Tessellations, Disguise, Rube Goldberg Machine, Making Shiny Mudballs, Knitting/Crocheting, Kite Flying/Fighting, Square Dancing, Rodeo, LARPing, Board Games, Tree Identification, Falconry, Machining, NATO Alphabet, Silver Tongue, Rifle, Moonwalk, Contortion, Sword Swallowing, Hotwiring, Trapeze, Aerials

...Don't question these.

Anywho... We also played a really fun game: Balderdash. When it came to my turn, my word was Hornito, which people were supposed to define.
Can you imagine what people wrote? Well you don't have to because I saved (most, if not all) of the answers.

So, the actual definition is the top one.
For those who can't read, or have trouble reading:
Answer: "A small, smoldering volcano"
Jon Schneider: "I'm not REALLY turned-on, I'm just feeling a little..."
Doug Tank: "Jay Boychuck after watching Anssi hit anything"
Anton Brittig: "noun: Lost in the mall after taking viagra and speed"
Matt Kemmer: "Marine biology nickname for a young narwhal"
John Goode: "When a hispanic version of a cowboy (Ranchero) sees a fine booty and gets a half chub"
No Name: "Spanish for 'tiny penis'"
Other No Name: "A man with an eration on his facce" - I actually believe this is Drew Martin's
Nathan: "A buritto shaped like a dick"
Yeris: "Having your partner cheat on you ONCE"

But yeah. That was fun.
The next day, I almost got ATW with Corey x3's bag before some of the last people were about to leave.

And... that's pretty much it for my first PSU Jamps (2013).

Edit: Also, there was four square in the basement of Nate's house. And Mikie playing the drums down there. There was some fire-hack outside for a bit, as well as fire juggling. Jammin' with my juggling friend Gabo, Matt Cross, and some others.
And I'm not sure exactly how I said it, but at one point, Ben came up from the basement, and I was just like, "Hey. Did you smoke down there?" In probably the most serious of voices that weirded him out.

Paul: Haha sorry, I don't have any other Balderdash slips. Those were just the one that I got from my round. But I agree that it is a very fun game. I even bought it myself after playing it at Nathan's house. And thanks, very flattering compliment! :)

Janis: Thank you very much!

I just recently had a session with Ben. I was getting frustrated with Osis, so I ended up just messing around a little bit with Stepping set and Pixie set. I didn't really hit anything, but I think my strong Pixie is pretty good. I haven't really practiced Pixie set except once or twice before (semi-seriously), and I think this past weekend really helped my understanding of things in general. Now, I just need more practice and actually hitting things with them (I was trying for Magellan), mostly on strong side, but not to neglect flip.

Hey that hornito stuff is hilarious!

I wanted to thank you and Ben for being awesome hosts. The baking, bus fare, booze, beds...bancakes were my favorite. Polini told me about this jam! How could I say no to a footbag arts fest? I tell everyone I meet about the best club in the country.

Thanks for the bag Ben!
