I shall try, but that trick is freakin' weird. Thanks for the picture!

Ugh.

Started experiencing some footbag bashers, recently. Been called a "Hacky Fag" on a few occasions. It's so odd, but, I find it funny, and tend to smile and wave, if I'm not mid-string. It has also come to my attention that people think I'm gay, actually gay. Now, there is nothing wrong with liking weiner, but, I only like my own. And, maybe an appreciation for my dad's, seeing as it helped make me. I don't know what it is, and it kinda baffles me. Oh, well. Sorry for the rant.

Footbag

Played with a dude, Loren, on last Monday. He is fudging good, and has only been playing a year. My only highlight from this was:

Egg*5 >ss Egg repeat >DLO*5 >ss DLO repeat

DOPE, and so close to my goal. Played more the rest of the week, but strictly drilling.

Stanford

I wasn't going to go this past weekend, cause I had a family event. But, Brian let me know Dexter Strutz was going to be there, as well as Dave. Dexter had me sold, but Dave was the cherry on top. Decided to actually wear deodorant. Turns out, Dustin ended up showing his face, too. Hadn't seen him since USO, and it was quite the surprise. Dave had an event, so we only had an hour and a half with him. We quickly got down to business. Alex kicked back, as to not make the circle massive, which is awesome of him. And, sadly, Steve was feeling poopy, so no freestyle for him. Brian joined in a little later, but brought up a comical point. It was Dustin, Dexter, Dave, and Derek (me) in a circle. The 4-D's circle! I had not noticed it until he mentioned it, and Dustin added he even said it on the car ride to Steve's. Which cracked me up more. The circle was pure shred, rarely a self serve, and straight to the point. It is very intimidating having to go after Dave. Dude lays down the fattest of runs, shrugs it off, and just passes the bag. It also made me forget what I was trying to hit, cause he would just blow my fucking mind. I felt like at some point in this session, me and Dexter started to feed off of one another's Symple tricks. Pretty rad. I was going nuts with the Eggbeats.

Dave had to leave, and some dudes showed up for some 4-Square. We played two games. I really love Squares, even though I suck. I think I'm too used to circle kicking. There were 8 people playing in total, so there was quite the line. First game, I think Alex won, and the 2nd one, Brian handled, even though he didn't want to. Hah. Dude is too good at squares, it's not fair. We then commenced with round two of shred. I really like all this footbag in one day. I went nuts with the Eggs again. Played for a while, until it was me and Dustin. We both sealed the sesh with some long boringness. 49 Ripwalks for him, 31 PLO's for me. Just before ending it, I hit some massive shit, and luckily, Dustin saw it.

Pigbeater >ss Pigbeater repeat

FUCK YES! On the second try! Proceeded to shut down the shred room, and help with the pizza prep. De-greased the peps, and set the table. This gave us ample time to refresh and do some art. Cool tradition at Stanford, and this time, there was a lot of art. Lucy, Dexter's lady friend, happened upon mine. It of course, had a weiner on it, though, there was much more to it. Apparently, this was not the first weiner art she had received since being here. Good times. Pizza was the BOMB, as usual. Steve knows how to handle some dough. We then ended the day with some wiffle ball. Proper.

'Twas a great day of footbag. Hit some of my densest shizz since Density round in Circles at USO. 2 fatties with Dave, 1 without. Lots of 4's, Paradox Egg and DLO are starting to feel fairly solid.

Quite The Post

Got down with the get down, today. Did a lot of drilling, but harder drilling. Had a bunch of good strings that came out of no where, with lots of variety. Ducking and Butters were feeling on point, too.

Highlights
-DLO*10 BS first try
-ss DLO*18 second try
-ss Egg*11
-Egg*10 >ss Egg repeat
-String with at least 12 Butters, around 30 contacts
-80 Tiltless
-DATW*4 flip
-Fairy Switch*6
-Clipper >Ducking op Clipper >Ducking Switch >op Clipper >Ducking op Clipper >Ducking Switch
-Smudge >PLO repeat*3
-Smear >Pixie Pickup repeat*2
-Symple Pick-up*4

Hit a BUNCH of Pixie muted op Clipper, they are starting to feel there. Fairies were easily thrown into the mix, which is shocking for me. Had some dope runs, and I didn't even try any harder stuff. I am finally feeling like I'm getting good.

The Coasts is exactly one month away, BOO-YAH!

lol at footbag bashers! i don't think i have ever been called a "hacky fag" but have had a few plain "fags" thrown my way when shredding. people can be lame, thats all!

you were shredding quite well again this saturday, every time i see you play there is improvement! which is what anyone should ask for. sad i missed the pigbeater drill, but mega props for it. i did some eggbeaters and double atws in your honor today, gotta snap that flip illusion!

good job pepperoni man, it is quite nice for me not having to do all the cheese AND pepp prep :)

i have to add, i won the first game of squares which is why i did not want to win the second. at least i got steve and alex and pat up to 9 or 10 before da win (2nd game was to 11)

left my ipad at steves, but new video coming soon, will likely just be 1 or 2 runs from each of you since I didn't film for very long. and the reason i was so excited for the 4 d's to be there, video title: One Sack, Four D's.

This is great. I can't wait.

As for footbag bashers. The solution is clearly to get a hoola hoop. Then everyone is your friend. Seriously. Even high school kids apparently and they can be the worst.

Being called gay is such a weak insult. Like, who cares if you're gay anyways?

Derek wrote:Decided to actually wear deodorant.
Deoderant is overrated. I stopped wearing it about a year ago and it made no difference whatsoever. You sweat from everywhere when you shred anyways so applying it in one specific area seems pointless.

I liked that blog post. The session sounded so rad!

I hope we are in the same circle for comp at ECFC next month. That would be interesting.

See you soon! :D

Fag bagger, foot faggot.. All names I have become desensitized to. Just start hitting Fairy Beaters and they'll know you're not gay :P you just have to give the haters props on being creative with the names they come up with and laugh it off.

The deodorant thing, I have a personal opinion about.. I have been in circles with some people that, I guess, were not wearing deodorant and I had to leave the circle because it's just not fun to smell body oder like that. Especially with a sport that makes you sweat so much. Maybe you're different and don't smell terrible when you sweat. I know I have a bad sweating problem and I have to wear it or else I won't have a circle tolerate my stench :P if you are one of those who don't sweat, then I am very jealous.

Pros on the shred stuff man! Pixie clippers are the way to go!

That pigbeater drill is sweet. I'm going to try that.

I love how the first post on this page has Nick Landes candidly air shredding while holding a camera. Or at least thats how I bet most footbaggers interpret his body language in that photo. To non-footbaggers, I bet they think he's letting out a fart and hoping nobody notices.

Thanks, Señor Bear! Those steady improvements are beginning to add up. Glad ya did some Eggs and DATWs, mainly Eggs! Ha. Dustin hit one for me, maybe I'll slowly convert the Stanford crew to Eggies. Illusion is a tricky trick. Of course, of course. Makes me feel like I'm part of the crew more. Cheese is complex, anyways. Shoulda known, that's why you didn't wanna win so badly! I thought you were just mad cause you won, cause you always win. That's some hype right there, epic name. Can't wait till that hit's the shelves.

Hooping is mad rad and all, Cassy, but I'm no bueno at it. People are people. I sweat like crazy, and can emit some atrocious odors. That being said, oh, well. I wear it when I wear it. Don't need too much Aluminum in me. Thank ya, thank ya. 'Twas a session to remember. Maybe, maybe, but I am looking to advance in Circle ;) Just this once.

That really makes me want to hit Fairy Beater, now, Nick. Hah. I do smell, like most dudes. Just sweat so much, at times, that I feel it's redundant. I'll probably bring some deo with me to The Coasts, but that's not gonna stop my nuts from stankin' up the place  Pixie Clips are smackin'.

Ken, your video inspired me to go big on video. Had one of my best sessions, ever. Thank you. You got that Pig ish easy, could you Smog >ss Smog repeat >Pig >ss Pig repeat? Starting either way. Totally thought Landes was letting one off when I first saw it, too.

Paul, you da man.

Wet With It
As I said above, Ken made me want to go hard. Was hitting shizz left and right. Got the repeat Pig drill FIRST FUCKING TRY. I will admit, my variety wasn't the best today. Had a BUNCH of ~30 contact runs, with mix of Tilt/Guilt. But, they were kinda bleh. Played for almost 2 hours, and was the sweatiest I've ever been from playing. Ended the sesh with a 5, which only took 11 tries. Been trying to stay true to only trying things 10 times before moving on. Which, for the most part, flies. Never past 11, though. Gotta sneak that last one in sometimes. Lot's of emotion.

Love that comment, Señor Boyle. Thank you very much.

Prunus: Klaypex, female dubstep mix DJ Slade, and DJ Rabaky Cardio Mix were some of the tunes I used. All found on soundcloud.com. Aww yeah, sweating is awesome.

Oh, my! So rad, Paul. Wish I didn't have a flipside. I sometimes find myself in a paradox where I have no flipside or strongside. Normally, a bad day.

Clipper Will Be Mine

Must remember, if Footbag is life, life is amazing. Some more poop going on recently, but, oh well. I think my insomnia has come back with a fiery vengeance. These past couple months I've been averaging about 40(or less) hours a week of sleep. Been feeling fine, though. Just need more time to recover, at times. Ultimately crazy vivid dreams, too. CRAZY.

Had the pleasure of meeting and shredding with Ken Somolinos, a couple weeks ago. So awesome! It was mighty hot on that day, but luckily, his hotel was in a priming spot. Close to a park with lots of shade, and near lots of grub. Dude is fucking good. And, he said he was coming off of an injury. Freakin' nuts. Went out for some grubbin' Sushi, afterwards, which Ken so kindly paid for. I love having life conversations with other footbaggers. Should be able to meet up with him again, before ECFC, which is phenomenal. Been so lucky with being able to meet so many footbaggers this year.

Playing consistently, and working the fudge out of 'dem Clips. Like, a lot. Went to join the Stanford crew this past weekend. Busted Infinity *8, which was the highlight of highlights. Fuck you, Clipper is hard, and Butter is even worse. Atomsmasher back-to-back was decent, too. 'Twas a grand session, lots of footbag, and good shred all around. Even played some Squares, and almost ate some serious shit. Pizza was booming, me and Brian got to feast. Bear was also nice enough to cut my hair, as well as Alex's, and his lady friend's. Wish everyday was Saturday.

Got down today, and did another mainly Clipper based session. Been playing with a big bag a lot, by myself. Smaller bags are my preference. Had a string that was phat with Butters, at least 15, and every version. Could only get to Infinity *5, but did hit 20 Infinity style Clippers. Near DLO is DIALED, and I was able to hit Ducking op Clipper *6. Shredding it up new Lavers is awesome, but my feet hate it. Blisters are annoying. Hopefully, they are broken in by ECFC. Otherwise, gotta Shoe Goo my good ones. Thinking about a Portland trip after ECFC, to shred. And, I guess, visit my sister. Ha.

(Hope someone has a chess set at ECFC, or at least, someone who will play. I know Chris will, and maybe I'll finally get him.)

Well, that's that. Until next time, yo.

Although Clipper can be really frustrating at times, just keep doing them. They WILL pay off and eventually just be so easy for you. Pdx Egg> Atomsmasher has your name on it. But man, great job with Infinity x8. That is really huge. Especially when you're pretty new to Clippers. It'll click in for you really soon. Try to push your Infinity record by AT LEAST 1 every week (do more if you can, but I went by that general guideline. Once you can do like 15 - 20 good ones, 100 isn't far in the future. I'll help you out at ECFC with anything if you need some tippers. Really stoked to shred with you. Welp, see ya then!

Stoked For NY

I really dig my newest modified name thing. BSOS Beast. Pretty OCD about BSOS, but, never have hit a Beast.

So, Stanford was on Saturday, it was the last session before ECFC. Started with some squares, which I actually got points in, then continued onto freestyle. It was the freshest I've seen Alex play in a bit, so that was pretty rad, Steve also laid down some long ones and fat ones. Brian was laying down some dopeness, of course. Had quite the dandy sesh, myself.

-P. Egg >Atom Smasher BS (Thanks, Nick)
-Ducking op Clipper *10 !!
-Pixie Diving ss DLO (2 or 3 times)

After shred, was the best pizza, ever. Steve must have put all of his love in this one, like, DAMN. Then, dropped off Brian, and went to party. Partied at some free picnic/concert thingy-mah-bob the following day. Good times.

Today, though, was a glorious day. A Mr. Ken Somolinos was nearby, so I had to cruise out for some shreddage. Wasn't too familiar with the area, but we found some cool little park spot. It had a secluded basketball court, back near a trail, that wasn't too bad. Established the spot, and commenced with what needed to be done. Pretty sure Ken had a rather good day, and I had potentially, the best session of my life. Was laying down some heat, well, maybe more like fizzles, compared to Ken. Even got some stuff on camera, though I am not sure if it will see the light of day. Ha.

-P. Egg > Atom Smasher BSOS !! (Boo-yah, Nick)
-Atom Smasher >Atom Smasher
-Pixie Diving ss DLO >The Run of My Life (~15 contacts)
-Omelette !!! (Thanks, Ken)

After the ballin' shizz went down, went back to Ken's hotel to cleanse and play some Chess!! This dude has some crazy Chess skill, and I was playing like a noob. He whooped me twice, after we went for some grub. Great times, love playing against skilled players. Plenty of time to hang and just chit-chat, overall, dope day. Ken is a cool cat. Another session may even be feasible for Wednesday, fuck yeah. Need all the practice I can get before ECFC. Saw some fresh Vegas Jam footage posted. Thinking back to how I was playing then, to how I am playing now. WOW.

Pixie muted op Clipper is almost there. Butter is coming along, slowly. Symple shizz.

Nick: Clipper is Clipper. I will stay at it, though. Too important of a concept to let go. Thanks, man. Infinities till infinity. I wouldn't say I'm pretty new to Clippers. Haha. Maybe more like every other week, shizz is HARD, and there are many things to work on. Not too sure if I'll ever shoot for 100, I'm not you :P Just a few more days.

I was very surprised to see your rapid progress on atomic since the last time we played...what, 3 weeks ago? Also the pdx and bubba eggs were a very sweet addition. Glad I got your best string on tape, and also glad we got to get some chess in. Maybe at East Coasts we can hit Wash Sq. Park at some point to play with the hustlers.

Stoked to shred with you tomorrow!

<3 You said that Atomics would be a great addition to my game, so I did some 2+2.

East Coasts went down, pretty badass. Just going to start spewing stuff from my brain, cause if I do a full write up, it'll be like two essays long, trust me, I tried. Meeting all these people was more daunting than the city, but it was handled.

Dang flight attendants playing with my hair.

Jäger, Jäger, Jäger

Double Over Down with a few witnesses.

Fuckin' cursed pizza, delivered by a murderer.

Pixie Diving ss DLO, though few saw.

This was easily my favorite event of the year, so many people and good times all around. Bruce is fudgin' awesome, such a good dude, and has world class taste in movies. Try harder Ricky! Many hilarious conversations and chill time with him(wo-wo-wo, little person NFL), can't thank him enough for hosting me and a bitchin' tournament and letting me play Destiny.

Shred house was pretty chill, no complaints.

Anton is a cool guy. Glad to finally meet and shred with him, he has really pretty form. And after seeing his shred and chatting with him, he truly makes me want to push my Clip game for some Steps. Hope to make it to NYJ so we can get some more chill time in. He was one of the people I played with the most. Smart dude, Pixie PIMP. Instantly became a homie when he showed me his Dragonfly tattoo.

Dope to shred with Johnny, since I missed him while he was in SF. Dude can rip them Clips, especially since he is coming off some sickness. He was kind enough to drink with me on the first night, plus we had some great talks about mind melting and females. Seems pretty raw on that bike.

Adam has, quite possibly, my favorite trick selection. Dug his conversing abilities, and he was just such a nice guy. He is also a machine, shredding like crazy while running on fumes. Glad I got to play with him as much I did, and that he sipped off the Jäger with me. Another Pixie PIMP.

Nick Polini, one of the first freestylers to really communicate with me. Was a little unreal to play and meet ya, and was mad flattered when you asked for help on Eggs, and that I inspired you to hit Eggs and other tricks. I know we didn't really talk a whole lot, but we sure did play a fair amount, which I am pleased. Real dope to have blown dro which ya. And jealous that you can probably lick your own weiner.

Kevin fuckin' Hogan. Probably played with him the most, him or Evan. Also one of the people I was most looking forward to meeting, one of the first dudes to ever support my toe game. Said one of the greatest things while we were shreddin, "fuck Clippers, do more toes". Glad we did a lot of drinking, had plenty of coach meetings, and you appreciate my pussy tattoo. Thanks for inspiring me and helping me hit my first flying toe. Hope you and that homeless lady make it, seem like a good match.

Andre is crazy good for only playing for like 2 months. Hope that I helped push you to compete, and mad props for doing so. Master those basics, and you'll be rippin' it up like crazy, in no time. Hope to see you at future events.

Dave has such an interesting trick selection, he is one of few players that I can't really read what trick they'll do next. Thanks for being coach's assistant, and bringing over some entertainment for everyone at the shred house. Guy is pretty hilarious, and it's a shame we didn't get to kick it and play as much, but there shall be another time.Come to Cali, and I'll treat ya right. BOATS.

Drew is such a chill dude, with stories for days. Seemed like everything coming out of his mouth was crackin' me up. Way to be a dope MC, and thanks for setting me up and communicating about everything so well. Wish we coulda played, but I know how injuries go. Duel is pretty crazy. Get to the bathroom!!

Anton's lady friend Jordan, who was kind enough to be my hydration buddy for the weekend. Saved me a couple times. Such a friendly person, and pointed out some very interesting observations about footbaggers. Never had so many conversations with a person at a footbag event who wasn't a footbagger, so that was new and nice.

Ryan Thomas has such silky smooth style. Glad to see I wasn't the only one to bust some Symple stuff. Has hands down my favorite DLOs. Sadly, didn't get enough shred time and chill time with ya, but, next time.

Got Chris Dean in Chess, finally, though I still feel like the win wasn't complete. Definitley didn't get enough shred or hang time with ya, but I've seen ya at plenty of events, and should be hopefully making some Portland visits in the near future.

Ivan, oh Ivan. Sorry I did not make more time to kick it with ya, a bit disappointed in myself. dude does so much that goes unrecognized, plus he is way dope. Real happy that we did meet though, and hopefully next time, we can chill and you'll hit Blurriest BSOS in my face. Thanks again for the bag, it may be my new favorite, 14's fo' life.

April is going to be a Fairy master. Real pleased to meet ya and see that crank in 3-D. The brownies were delicious, and after scoping your newest bags, you are beoming one with the ways of stitching. Your Pixies will get there, just gotta believe. The one I saw were borderline perfect, much cleaner than my own. I sluff a lot. Stoked we talked to coach.

Benny, Benny, Benjamin. I love your lingo, and you are quite hysterical. Glad we were able to get a fair session in, and chill properly. Very much looking forward to seeing you at future events, and props on a beast routine. Way to be a fan of coach. You can Pixie.

Mikie, not sure how I outseeded ya, you can fucking rip. "Twas good to play with you outside of our Circle, and in the Circle, shizz was vibin'. Shame we didn't get much time to converse, had no idea you were into BJJ, woulda definitely chatted about that.

Cassy, the fact that you laughed at my DJ joke, instantly made us better friends. I know we played, but I don't think we played enough. Whatevs, though, there are some people I didn't play with. Fun times chillin', of course. And way to troop through being ill, high five for not getting me sick. Glad my pizza fiasco brought you much joy. Great hugs.

Marc was a dope guy, who was much better than I had been lead to believe from his videos. Man, we had some great talks, and was able to get a coach meeting or two in, and swigs shared. We didn't get much shred in, but circle kicking forms them real bonds. Ha.

Bobby G! You made some of the best tasting salsa I've ever had. Our sessions were wicked brief, which I apologize for. Can't wait to have another shredder close.

Was not pleased that I didn't get to play with Zach, but it was cool to see him amped for Net. We had plently of chats, so I guess that makes up a bit for the lack of shreddage. Coach sessions.

Jeremy, we did not play, had few chats, but it was nice to meet ya none the less.

Doug Tank was quite the character. Dude was rippin' it up when I got to play with him. Glad I got in as much as I did, cause it seemed he wasn't playing much. Happy I didn't have to worry about ever crossing the line with him, and still wanna hear how he got banished from a bar.

Khoa is such an enthusiastic guy, it was awesome. He did a sweet football routine at the lull between Routines and Circles. Loved how much he was feeling my game. Was nice to play with him, Dan, and Ben. Super chill guy, wish I woulda got some talks with him.

Aintno!! Dopest net player I've ever met, dude was hanging with me all night. And I LOVE how often he crosses the line, some of the funniest conversations of the weekend involved him.

Dan is the man. Starting up the shred circle in the basement on the first day. I see some mad dedication in ya, which is reassuring me that you'll be big PIMPin' very soon. Way to rep Yu-Gi-Oh.

It was crazy how much Kemmer had gotten better since USO, still one of my favorite overall styles out there. It was an honor to smashed on by you and Ken, and sorry we did not talk too much.

Marilyn is a fox.

Gettin' shit for my tattoo was pretty funny.

Mikie's lady friend Alyssa was real cool. Jordan and her were hoopsters. She seemed mighty friendly, and glad she was into coach meetings.

Barrett is quite the cat, and owned a friendly cat. Stomped me in Chess, saw through all my tricks. Had a classic video game, which was pretty fun. I cannot remember the last time I played Connect 4. The Pho was a great call, and was mad stoked you suggested some Central Park shred. Super fun getting down on some Bowlin' and Pool, cannot wait until next time.

Matt Cross drank with me. but sadly did not play. Poop. Was looking forward to that.

Evan. Damn. Cannot really express how much I dig this dude. He had Jäger. Phenomenal skill, I get his references, he gets mine, and I feel like we can talk about anything and everything. He was basically the selling point for me, though I had already kicked it with him at VJ. One of my favorite cats in footbag. His routine was one of my favorites ever.

Being the only one to say something when there was a knock on the door.

Vince passed out next to the toilet.

Pete, sucks we didn't get to shred, but I definitely watched ya from afar, and you seemed to be rippin' HARD. Thanks again for the hook up.

Ken, even though we had already played a bunch before the event, it was still nice to hang out with ya and lose to ya anyways. Glad you rallied the troops and took us out bowling, it was a blast. Your wife, Haley, was very welcoming, and it was great to meet her. You are lucky we didn't get ya in pool. You gave me the best advice while we were in the Circle, and I greatly appreciate that, as you are familiar with my game. "Don't be afraid to just do toes." Was nice seeing you before we headed out, till next time, which will probably be soon :P

25 hours of sleep, the whole weekend.

~20 hours of shred, the whole weekend. Priorities.

Central Park shred was the SHIZZ, and having those Aussie's roll up was pretty cool. So many scrandoms filming, so rad. And the shit Evan hit, my word!

Bear has been to every event I've been to, hope this trend persists. He is the bomb.

I probably forgot a lot, and a lot of people, which I apologize. I know I didn't play with some of the other PSU peeps. Super bummed this had to end, footbaggers need to invest in a island and start a commune. Going to try my hardest to get to NYJ, I REALLY, REALLY want to, but, money is always an issue. Time to start selling organs. I WILL see you all in the future! Unless you, or I, die.

Edit: OH MY! ERIK fucking CHAN. Dude nonchalantly throws Blazing sets out mid-string. So stoked to finally meet him. The first footbagger to help me with a video scenario. Was quite the treat when he said he'd be there. Got to hug the dude.

Dude, it was awesome meeting you in person. Your game is pretty sick in videos, but just incredible to see in person. Your toes, man. God dammit, your toes. I will get good at Eggbeaters some day, literally completely inspired by you. I never liked Egg so much until I saw you doing them. They gave me a footbag brain boner. Unreal shit, man. Definitely surreal meeting you, too. I always think it's cool how in footbag, no matter how much more advanced player A's game is (due to years playing footbag) than player B's, they can each learn something from each other. Wish I would have taken some time and gave you some tips on stuff, since you helped me with Eggbeaters. Next time, hold me to it.

Also... You should film a verbal video tutorial on Eggbeaters/Double Legovers. I personally think you have the best Eggbeaters in the sport. I know I would really appreciate it, and I'm sure it will benefit others.

I liked your kind of write up. Footbag is all about the peepz.

I would very much like to see the pussy tattoo.
