Session with El Kematador today. Didn't hit much new stuff but what I did hit felt solid for the most part. We both played well I think. Highlights:
-Clipper Ss toe op clipper Ss toe (new drill, feels really cool so gonna practice this in my clipper sessions/ other shred)
-Inside toe pickup rpt (one repeat)
-Mirage Ss mirage (BS a few times, was trying for bsauce, couldn't get it)

Sorry for lack of content other than straight footbag stuff, been very busy lately. More soon.

Cassy: Yea, it was pretty nice feeling! Got some nice shade too, if Matt and I ever have more sessions near my home that'll be a good shred spot I think.

@Matt: Glad you enjoy it so much pal. Looking forward to shredding again when new school shit settles down.

@Nick: Yea, it has. Real nice to see it progressing. Wildfire is very cool indeed my friend. Haha I haven't really explored much Ska yet in my musical experiences, definitely would be interested in hearing some more of it though! A geocache you say? Hmm I'll have to take a better look around I suppose.

@Dan: Agreed, one of my favorites by them. Good band, yea it's a shame they broke up...

@Prunus: Thanks dude! Yea, felt really good. Need to get all my other stuff caught up to them now! Haha.

----

Okay, sorry for no shit recently. Some non-footbag related stuff for ya:

Heard a bunch of new songs recently, or remembered some old good ones. Just thought I'd share 'em for anyone interested:

A mix of genres, hopefully something for everyone :)

Someone carved this out of sand at the track today:

Speaking of which, it was my last day working at the track today. Kinda sad actually, made some cool friends... Oh well, pretty good experience overall I think. Helped me in more ways than money however, and I'm thankful for that.

I took some pictures of the outrider horses today. I have some more in print version (gift from a patron/ friend), need to scan them tomorrow.

Looking especially derpy in this one.

That's all for now, hopefully I have time for a session tomorrow in between shopping/ packing for sk00l. Toodles.

Ended up having a late night session yesterday. Worked on a few links:
10 inside toe toe inside
20 Inside toe legover 10 bs
20 inside toe pickup 10 bs
20 legover toe orbit toe 10 bs
Mirage Ss mirage mirage Ss mirage bsauce
10 legover toe atw toe 5 bs
10 clipper Ss toe op clipper Ss toe
Ss mirage toe orbit toe bs

So we got some random in our room cuz our other roommate backed out. First thing I said to him was "If you had 7 giraffes, and 4 of them were red, 3 were blue, and 1 was green, what would you do with them?" And he answered "That's eight giraffes."

I think this guy might be okay.

Session with Kemmernaut today. Played for a good 2 hours or so, was p dopes. Kemsauce hit some coolio shit, but I'll let him cover that. I got a few new things this session:

Clipper > SS Toe > Opposite Clipper > SS Toe repeat x2 (4 Clippers in the string)

SS Pickups BS

Legover > SS Legover > Legover > SS Legover

Mirage x3 left, x5 right (5 in a row right, 3 left)

Orbits x3 right, x2 left (3 in a row right, 2 left)

P.S. I dueled my roommate James in Yu-Gi-Oh and he fucking wrecked me both times. Lucky piece of shit <3

Quick late night session today. Worked on a few things:
10  Ss mirage > Ss mirage
20 Ss legovers 10 bs
20 pickups 10 bs
20 clippers bs
20 ATWs 10 bs

Might be spreading myself too thin sometimes? I don't know, I just feel like it might be more efficient to pick 2 or 3 of my weakest concepts to drill each week in order to be able to have some depth in my sessions. Will ask Matt Kemora tomorrow when I see him.

Friday nights at college are so cool to people watch. Can meet many interesting folks, especially when I'm footbagging. All for now. Bigger post later.

P.S. I wrecked my roommate's asshole in Yu-Gi-Oh today. Vengeance is so sweet.

Nice dude. I heard you and Better-Late-Than-Kemmer had a 4 hour session where you guys were doing really well. Can't wait to read that post. Maybe you're spreading yourself a bit thin? I would ask the man tomorrow. He knows best. I think maybe working on Mirage, Orbit, and Legover first would be best, though.

PS. Hope your roommate's asshole is okay.

Nick: Thanks bud. Yea we had a nice session today, was pretty dope. My roommate says it's getting there lol.

----

Like Matt said, 4 hour session today. Felt really really good. Got a couple new links:
 Mirage > Clipper > Opposite Toe > repeat opposite x1
 Legover > Opposite Toe > Clipper > SS Toe > repeat opposite x2
 2 Mirage > Mirage > Legover > repeat opposite x1
 Mirage > Mirage > Pick-up BS

Our friend Natalie joined us for a good half an hour to an hour or so. She's pretty new to footbag but she hit some cool stuff today, some nice toe kicks and inside kicks. I let her borrow one of my footbags so she could practice solo if she wanted to.

I swore quite a bit today after messing stuff up. Was pretty funny actually. There was this one moment where I fucked up something at the very end of a string and I just yelled "God fucking damn it!" pretty loudly while a gaggle of girls went by. One of them gave me this disgusted look according to Matt. So good.

Might shred tomorrow if I'm not dead sore.

Wasn't completely dead, so I had a late night session today. Focused mainly on pickups, but I included other concepts in my drills/ links:
20 Inside stall > Toe Stall > Legover (10 BS)
20 Mirage > Legover (10 BS)
40 Pickups (20 BS)
Pickup > Pickup x2 (4 in a row, 2 BS)
Mirage > Mirage > Pickup rpt x1(6 contacts)
10 Pickup > Legover rpt x1 (4 contacts each, 5 BS)
10 SS pickups (5 BS)
1 Pickup > SS pickup BS
1 Pickup > SS Legover BS

MATT IS TOO SORE TO SHRED TOMORROW SO I'M HANGING OUT WITH MY OTHER FRIEND WHO IS ALSO NAMED MATT AND WE ARE GOING TO THE GYMNASIUM TO EXERCISE OUR LEG MUSCLE GROUPS. YAY.

Gym didn't work out with my class schedule unfortunately, but I did get another small session in tonight. Focused on what I thought were the worst/ least developed of my tricks.
60 toe kicks (30 BS)
50 inside stalls (25 BS, 36 in a row)
80 orbits (40 BS)
80 ATWs (40 BS)
100 skips (28 skips in a row)

Toe kicks: These are getting progressively better. I think if I do some each session I can catch them up to speed with my inside kicks, as well as getting better control over my basics (which I think is still important even though I'm doing mirages and shit now).

Inside stalls: I'd like to devote a bit more time with these, the proportion of my toe stall consistency to my inside stall consistency is pretty imbalanced right now.

Orbits: Slowly improving with these. Having some problems with setting straight (I begin the dex too soon and usually mess up my set as a result), but I worked on that a bit today.

ATWs: These felt a lot better this session than last time I actively drilled them. Similar problem to orbits in that I'm focusing so much on the actual dex that I forget the set, which is just as vital to the correct completion of the trick.

Skips: I pulled out my new jump rope this session for a little bit! My hope is to eventually incorporate toe stalls in time with skips jumping rope. To achieve this I think I need to 1) learn how to skip normally 2) learn how to skip on alternating feet each time and 3) learn the correct form and rhythm to both stall and skip multiple times in a row. If anyone has experience in this, or knows someone who does, I'd love some helpful tips. Also, today I learned skipping rope is actually fairly difficult. I was kind of out of breath just doing 100 skips! Can't imagine doing 1,000 in a row. I've heard it's a pretty good workout.

All for now.

You are killing it, Dan. Nice. With your toe kicks, are they the toe flicks and how many are you getting in a row. I am stuck at 6x back to back pretty consecutively, but I have gotten more. That doesn't happen often though. They don't seem to change too much for me though. Also, congratulations on the x38 inside stalls. That's sick.

Making ATW/Orbit better makes every single other trick better, if you're not moving your support leg. It's correct either way, but if you don't hop with your support leg, your overall balance will increase dramatically. It's something that Anssi recommends, and I thought it's just something that works for him, but I proved myself wrong when I tried it myself.

I really like that new players these days are able to do a lot of consecutive Inside Stalls. Well done on that! :footbag:

Nathan, I had huge issues with balance on my flipside. The magic hop help with that a lot. I thought Anssi suggestions magic hopping while preforming Arounds and Orbits, no? Could you please explain why not to magic hop?

You could do magic hop, that helps with your magic hop, that you will use in many other tricks. But you can also practice them without it to increase your stability.

Man, you just made me hardcore flashback.. When I was tiltless, I tried to start skipping rope as a means of cross training for footbag. I had a footbag friend I used to kick with who was also a freestyle jump-roper and he had natural footbag talent because he was so sick at skipping rope and he said it made him extremely light on his feet.

I hope you keep up with this. I tried, but couldn't. I think it would be cool to see if improving jump rope improves your footbag.
