I highly agree with Antonio's challenges. On top of those, I think you should knock everything off the level 1 list (either on film or not on film), then progress into the level 2 list. That is why it's been developed, to get people to an Open level of shred quicker. Not many seem to be utilizing it though. You should seriously consider it, Steve. It would be a big game changer and quick level-upper for you.

Just had a dropless 20+ string of ss mirages!
Re: Steves Footblog
Looking good. This is the stuff that will make it possible to get bigger and harder tricks in the future (without having to go back and re-learn basics every time).

Did more of Nick's suggested drills with the 1 second pauses today:
Mirage>legover x8
ss mirage>mirage x5
I also did some clipper reinforcement lol:
New records-
weak ss clip x26
strong ss clip x34
alternating clip x26 (although i consistently drop around 8 or nine)
Infinities x8

Re: Steves Footblog
Double SS Mirage is called Terrage, a very cool trick. You can link that to an Orbit on both sides to get a bronze double dex badge.

Got pixie legover> smear> pixie legover! First 3 contact shuffle. Once I strengthen my left foot pixie sets I should be able to complete the drill.

Re: Steves Footblog
Nice, Steve. I'd suggest practicing Pixie ss Clipper bs Pixie ss Mirage b2b, and Smear X2 bs. Also try filming and analyzing your strong side vs your flipside. Usually you will notice something that your flipside doesnt do, that your strong side does. Keep it up dude. Glad to see you're still practicing

Re: Steves Footblog
Thanks Nick. I actually just got pixie ss mirage bs the other day. Ill be sure to practice the others as well. I think the bigges set back with my left foot is just overall strenght. The set hight is just much harder to get up there.

I had the same problem a while ago. I never played any sports before footbag, so I came into it being such a weak turd. One thing that really helped me (and you're in the perfect place to try it out) is that I bought like 5 lb ankle weights and wore them around every time I had to walk to class in college. I did this for about half a year, maybe? Maybe a little more. But after a few weeks, I noticed my legs bulk up like crazy. Also, my crank got deeper. I didn't shred in them, because that could be dangerous. But I really swear by just walking around in them, and occasionally cranking my ankle and lifting it up and down during lunch or class or whatever. Maybe give this a shot. Worst case scenario: it doesn't bulk your legs up and you're still weak (that most likely won't happen though) Best case scenario: Your crank gets better and your legs get stronger.

Re: Steves Footblog
Damn dude, that is sick advice and im not sure why i haven't thought of this lol. If it really deepens your crank too than i cannot pass this up. I know my left osis would benefit soooooo much if i could just crank more, although thats not its only problem. Thanks Nick I shall try this out.
On a side note I just got an obscure 5 bs: pixie symposium butterfly

Re: Steves Footblog
Butterfly doesn't unfortunately get an ADD from symposium, so that's 4. But if you want an easy 5ADD, go for Pdx/Pixie DaDa Curve.
Good job nonetheless, I remember being very happy about my first 5ADD.

Yeah, I wouldn't write that to discourage you if I didn't remember you hitting Fog. (I hope that was you)

Re: Steves Footblog
Been a while since I could have a good session, got to have one after class today. For some reason I was dropping on mirages...strongside! My guess is it had to do with my playing with other shoes (those walmart running shoes) and it had been a while. But it went away after warming up thankfully. Had a few runs of decent length, although there were more drops than I wanted. I hit dada curve bs a few more times (much more easily in lavers!). Then I decided to hit them paradox. Surprisingly they only took a few attempts on each side. The thrill of hitting pdx dada curve on my strong side drove me to finally hit paradox torque! Even though hitting a few more 5's was a good session highlight, I am also happy that I hit a spinning/ducking drill out of nowhere: ducking clipper> spinning clipper> ducking clipper> spinning toe. I still can't hit spinning clipper weakside unfortunately. But hitting that was still a good accomplishment for me right now, and it makes me realize the weakside tricks I need to get down: spinning clipper, ducking/diving clipper, whirl, osis for sure!, pdx mirage, and I'd also like to ripwalk for days
