Hahahaha hahaha laughed so hard at the video. I'd say your impersonation was pretty spot on!
Re: MetZelRio got him some Units vid
You have been converted to Units??? Oh, no!!!! How are they? Diggin' the drills. If you add a PLO to the end of the Dim >Whirl >near DLO, you'll have yourself a nice repeat. Argh!!! Indeed. Big ol' fan of Diving ss Clip >Rip >Drifter, 'tis stylie in my eyes. Still jealous of your Kemm-dog steez.

Re: MetZelRio got him some Units vid
Please forgive me. I have been a fan of watching people play in units for years. I love their look. Ive seen Brian Bear, Dustin Rhodes, Kevin Hogan, Jay Boychuk, Ken Somolinos, Jorden Moir, Ianek Regimbald, Dylan Fry, David Clavens and the list goes on of people I've seen using them. I have been told they lead to bad form because the clipper is almost effortless in them. I however have found NO benefit to wearing them PLUS I now have virtually no ability to catch the toe tricks because I feel that lavers have a superior toe surface. Conclusion: I'm not down with playing in units, but I still love to see people rocking them and playing well.

Oh, my. I just died
Eh, do what ya want. My issue with Units is just the fact I am jealous of how long they last, and how limited the supplies are. Yeah, seems like a lot of elites swear by them. That's good to know, and now I'm sold on not attempting to get some of the G's.

Re: MetZelRio got him some Units vid
Your polini impression in the last video made me chuckle.
Also, thanks for your perspective on units. I assumed that because of the "lazy clipper" phenomenon, they would destroy me but I never heard anyone discuss the toes. While on the topic of lazy clippers, let me ask you a question about brocka. I had a pair of brocka'd lavers. Now I play with a new pair sans brocka. I am in the process of reteaching myself to crank hard. Have you messed around with that mod, mango?

Sick 'Sick Three' in that video. You're progressing fast, we'll be awaiting you in the '3DEX Master race' with Derek
I wouldn't worry about the toe space. I just started using Lavers, and they have a much smaller toe box than Quantums, I thought I wouldn't get used to it, but I did, very quickly. It definitely changes the way and style with which you delay your tricks, but 100% in the positive way. I can feel my game looks much more presentable with smaller toe box.
Your style and flow already has been top quality, so I'm interested where will it lead you. In other words, more videos please.

Re: What footbag video was this song in????
Everyone who read my opinion on units: I've changed my mind.
I was a little broken hearted that I spent so much money on a pair of shoes that were just going to sit there. I saw the latest Ken Somolinos and Mark Monistere videos and these guys can catch toe triks like mad in units. so the problem was me, not the units.
I went to work on them and here's how they look now:

I am able to do both clipper and toe tricks in them very well now. it took tons of effort to get them to their current usable state FOR ME. The added benefit for me is that with the toe walls cut back a tad, I am able to get pixie a tad more consistent. Maybe I'm now on the list of Unit converts. I still love my lavers and can play real well in both. (real well for MY level) I don't reccommend one over the other. there is no added benefit for clipper for me, probably because I already have somewhat of proper form for clilpper. So, wear what you can get your feet on.
DEREK Tha Rising Star, Learning pixie out of DLO will be the challenge for me on that string, because once it starts the repeat process, aint nothing to it but to do it. I barely do pixie out of anything but mirage and I mean barely. Don't Let Matt Kemmer look at your post, he might be offended that someone thinks I have something reminiscent of his steez, NOT ME THOUGH! thats one of the highest compliments in all the land.
BENJAMIN, I'm sorry i spoke too soon on the units and I most likely have tainted your outlook on them. I'm down with them now. The toes are just fine. it just took a lil mod work and its all good. BROCKA: ive had somewhere around 8-10 pairs of footbag shoes. I've brockad 2 of them. When I first put on the shoes and do some osis in them, AT THE TIME, im convinced that I should be doing brocka to all my shoes. But I've got non brockad lavers and non brockad units. and Im doing textbook osis in them due to proper form (thank you polinis pointers and some experimentation and slight changes for my body size). Brockacut probably helps me tons when i do tricks with bad form, but i can hit them because of brockcut? HERE IS RECCOMENDATION: do the brockacut when your shoes are on the way out the door AND you have been schooling proper form. observe the benefit you have from brockacut. if you have a huge benefit from the cut and your're sure you're using proper form, make that mod your standard. if there isn't a benefit, don't make unnecessary cuts so that you prolong the life of your shoe.
VOJTA: (how do i accurately pronounce your name?) since day one in footbag, I have been drawn to players with style oozing out of their game. Skill is so important to me, but Style is what truly matters to me. As a brand new player back in 2004, I remember seeing videos of Dylan Fry and thinking he had such graceful smooth steelo. I am flattered that you think i have a nice style. seriously. I'm honored so much. I may have an online competition soon based on style? I don't know, but I do have a prize already for some sort of online comp I want to hold. More videos are certainly on the way, because I'm doing shout out sessions for various folks in the community. The reason I do that, is not because I think I'm good, or better than the people I shout out to, but just because I like what someone is doing in footbag, or they said something l like or I feel like I'd just like to encourage someone, let them know i think about them. I've found that one way to be happy is to give happy. For example, if I gave a shout out video to you, it would NOT be because I think i'm better than you, because I AINT. (dude, you're good, wow) it would be because I want to let you know that I appreciate you and your comments and to let you know I appreciate you.
someone, anyone, wasn't there a footbag vid with this song? not the toronto video by Cross, with Jorden, Jay, Anssi, Adam, Johnny, and them guys and the song is in the background, BUT WASN'T THERE a video featuring this song???????? because I know this song its also not the ATX footbag stunt 101 video. its earlier than that. also not the TEASER European footbag champs vid.... perhaps it was some of the monsterhack videos?!

Re: What footbag video was this song in????
That song couldn't have been used much earlier as it only came out in 2006 ... I've never used it as an actual track in any of my videos (since I've not released an edited video since around '05), but it is playing in the background of several of my uncut videos from the passed 4-5 years as I play to it frequently. Sorry I can't be of more help

dank footage lately homie and thanks for the name drop! although I haven't played in units in about a year and a half I'd definitely say even though there impossible to find lavers are the way to go.
Before that I played in units for close to 5 years but most of my baddest bitches have been in lavers mostly because they help keep form tight.

There's never enough online comps, but they have been hardcore in the last weeks. I'd love to see something everyone can participate in. I'm up for anything, with or without prices.
The shout outs are great, it shows people that someone is watching their videos. They'd be even better if you included some links/tricks/drills that the person is known for. On a lower level of course, no one is doing 10 pigbeaters as a tribute to Derek.
(actually.... nah)
Stuff from Ratatat is all over footbag videos. I have definitely seen at least 5 videos with a song by them.
For my name, just say it as you would, just put I instead of J, as in Voita, or Voyta. To get 100% correct, you can put emphasis on the last letter, so Voyt'a/Voyt-a. Would be nice to have a mini-BAP, with nicknames and stuff, so english/american folks would have an easier time with our names.

Thanks for your comments Daniel =) You've done tons of promotions for footbag, and I appreciate your hard work. Thank you for blazing the trail!boyle wrote:Hi Paul - just watched your footbag news broadcast. Awesome stuff! Look forward to seeing more.

Who can name all these players on the MetZelRio Freestyle Footbag News Studios wall?

I honestly don't think it will be too difficult, there may be one or two that may give a little trouble.
I'll be changing the background of the studio up quite a bit soon, but before I changed it all up, I wanted to see if anyone could name them all just for curiosity sake.
