Re: Hogan
So amped to hear what comes of the B$C trio shred. Glad to hear Pete is back in it. And Bob is just awesome any way you look at it. I still think it's sick that both Bob's with pothead last names that both quit footbag are now back in it and are both our students
I still can't believe the Rubbablubb drill. I watched it so many times. Huge props, once again. Can't wait to shred it up with you again, whenever that may be. Seriously miss that long weekend in Beverly with Kemmer. I wish it could have just kept going. Miss you dude.

Re: Hogan
thanks man. too bad there was no suprise factor because I shuffle alot, I wont post vid in the freestylers group for awhile. stop playing footbag with expectations you dick faces.
ya having pete back was awesome, also having him finally meet Dr. Green was awesome aswell. I already forget most of the stuff from the sesh but it seemed like everyone went off, Pete can still hit surreal and shit so alls well ends well.
Played with Dave Remi and Larsen on revere beach and now it really feels like summer despite all the change. Honestly they both played probably better then i've ever seen them play. Dave took almost the whole winter off but still was hitting some awesome shuffle combos, blurry whirls both sides all over the place and we both hit blade runner one after another (daves eggs look hawt) and larsen was hitting some 20+ strings with whirls, blenders, all types of alpine butterfly tricks and even some gyro toe stuff (my nigga!) I got there almost an hour before they did so had a good time hitting long strings for the locals of good ol' revere. hit fury>smog to a long seal and that felt nice, don't really remember much else haha, mostly just long runs. i love footbag, it has been such good therapy the past few months.
post sesh we rolled a doob with one of dave & larsens friends and drove closer to the boston side of the beach and kicked it on a bench as planes going to logan were like 300 ft above us, it was a pretty surreal sight. you could see the lights of the planes like little balls on string in the sky coming at us from far away..i wish i was better at describing shit because this was awesome but we had a good time.
i'll be in sarasota, fl drinking wine with my grandmother, hitting a few golf balls with my fathah and definitely bringing the shred gear. if anyone is close i don't have a whip but i'd love to have a session.
Also doing a *paid* gig in boston the day i come back for some ad agency. not sure what the full deets are but this is probably going to be the biggest non tournament plane i've shredded on so i could definitely use the good vibes.
peace love and cold pizzza

Re: Hogan
hell yee aaron, and way to come threw with that font the other day, my client was super stoked (even though we both know its just helvetica
). Thanks again mayne, i owe you one.
Florida was quite a trip as well. Left mass for a weekend to hang out with my dad, drink and play footbag. Brandon turner showed me a really fucking awesome time, hit ripwalk>ripwalk for the first time and showed me whats really good in downtown tampa. Maybe more on florida later.
What is awesome though is I played footbag for 3300 people last week and made a little bread doing it, thanks to Dr. Dole in essence. It was a corporate event with live music, mad bombass food, lots of old rich dudes with sexy young wives and a miniature city of boston created in the room, super fresh. I was essentially a jester (hey oh!) with a few other people with weird talents (juggler, yoyo guy, dancers etc.) and all I had to do was play footbag in 20 minute increments, walk around this party, take pictures and get filmed and shoot the shit with guests, it was pretty dope.
Not much for actual future footbag prospects as it was mostl old people but still had an amazing time. Got to see two of the best ping pong players in the country goin’ in (and there super cool supportive dad), got a drink with one of the dancers from america’s got talent (snatch boogie?) and got all my drinks paid for cuz white people love fake celebrities. also hit superfly on stage during the “wow moment” of the night in which all of us weirdos got down on the stage infront of a live band and opera singers. Cool stuff that I did was: lots and lots of long runs, probably a few pushing 70, wind first try, riptide and fun swirl tricks all over the place, blurry whirling swirl too, gyro toe stuff. Footbag is fun.
Overall taking the good with the bad. Played footbag yesterday but mostly just did stylie, knee bumping torques and shit. I’m enjoying the game and really trying to push myself for east coasts and really trying to push my drinking for nyfa jam ☺.
cold pizza.

Re: Hogan
A few random highlights from the past month I didn’t want to forget:
-diving, ducking & far symple flying legovers all bs
-toe fog bs
-surge>smoke
- atomic knee bumping ss mirage x2
-both voids midrun…first time hitting void bsos
Minimizing my indesign screen to take a moment of silence for NYFA weekend and what a glorious weekend it was. I was disappointed that attendance was kinda small but given that Drew only told 4 people this was to be expected….to anyone that misses this jam year after year you’re missing something special. No pressure of competition, a freeform schedule and one of the best footbag crews in NA just wild n’ out watching troma and shredding tits. I’ll take that over most jams anyday. NYFA is the shit!
Random highlights in usual blog form’
-Bobby Green. The man himself. Not only does he shred phat & put up with my shenanigans on a nearly weekly basis, but he also drove us both safely to the city there & back perservering through me being a dumb 22 year old & a little traffic. Was awesome to see everyone dying at his often profane fueled one liners just like I do. Bob you’re awesome and I definitely consider you as more of a friend then a convenient shred buddy. Thanks for getting us there safe!
- gettin’ down to Ice Cube pandora with Bob. All eyes on me!
-looking at boatz’ new comix and how much his style has improved (we needa collaborate, hoagey boatz son!)
-failing at geo caching with polini at 1 am. Fuck you riverwood church cache #2.
-strawberry daqueris on strawberry daqueris. On daqueri strawberries
-almost yearly tradition now of NYC coach consultation with the soon to be married Benjamin john little. Looking forward to seeing him soon ☺
- shredding with and guying lots of angry orchards off John goode, I hope you get back into it just for funs sake man.
-going the whole weekend without having to use the subway. Thanks screw martin.
-meeting Johnny breakdown sarah who gave me mad nips and guyed me for Indian food. Hopefully we’ll shred in boston soon. Dude also hit a phat spinning ducking osis!
-was just as pleasantly surprised by Nick’s game as I had hoped to be. Huge links, dank, sticky runs & nice stalls. Stuff that stuck out to me were the revups that he seemed to do all day, every type of spinning butterswirl trick bs in like a 5 minute period, twirl>bd>run, spinning swirl>ripstein>revup run (hawt hawt hawt) and tons of other cool shizz. I have my work cut out for ECFC fo sho.
-seeing t$ for the first time since BT3 maybe? He didn’t shred but had some early morning beers & coffee with him.
- the fucking gathering of the juggalos band intro vid are you fucking serious
-guying polini first try with a link he was trying to guy from me: gyro dlo>porque
-hanging with boatz and the rest of NYFA as always. I pooped em’.
-AXE MURDAH BOYZ WOO WOO
Thanks for everyone who came out, kicked a hack, drank a beer or petted Bruce’s cat. Another epic nyfa jam in ze books.
As far as actual shred goes, heres a few decent highlights:
-blurry torque bsos & ps egg bsos, both separate runs but first try.
-foe x mid 20’s
-some long and dense runs…I remember one with nuke tap>whirling swirl 20+ deep. Felt baller.
-ps whirl>tombstone
-slapdown>pdx egg rpt>run
-gyro diving gyro toe
-EDIT: also hit whirling swirling dragon stall in front of jon s. on sunday after seeing him hit it in the California connection...he hit hit bsos super smooth on saturday on command
Blaze Ya Dead Hoagie

I'm glad that I've managed to create the illusion that I attend all the jams. Logistically speaking it's tricky to make it to every event. Eventually it became necessary to prove to my family that I'm still alive and healthy.
NYFA is such a great club to jam with.
There's some cool highlights in there. I want to see some of this kind of stuff next month!

Re: Hogan
I was also pleasantly surprised by how much your game has improved Boston Trio Minijam. Glad you were also pleasantly surprised by my game. Everyone kept saying you flowed like water, and I couldn't agree more. Loving the new Hogan style. So sick to watch. You're really coming up, dude. Train hard this month and I feel you're going to level up very nicely.
I'm really glad you stuck to it, even through the hardest of times. Your game is fucking sick, dude. Something I would like to watch in my spare time. Totally inspired to learn Flurries like your's now. I hope my Symp Blink tutorial helped you, too. I think that trick would look wicked in your game.
I wish we didn't have to compete against each other at ECFC, but so it goes. I'd much rather just throw down nasty runs with you in a circle then get smashed off of obnoxiously large daiquiris (with an extra shot) in a public setting afterward and yell shit at the birthday girl. Whatever, we can still do that last part! Plus, we have to actually find a fucking cache next time. None of that nano bullshit.
Peace dude!

Re: Hogan
thanks guyz. looking forward to seeing both of your lovely faces in a few weeks. id much rather do all that as well man.
had one solo sesh since east coasts and dicked around briefly in the cape barefoot this weekend which yieled some ok combos and a new triple dex on bs. Went to the cape on a company trip filled with lots of good conversation, beer, laughter & shit talk. I am lucky to work with people who not only accept me and like my design work, but constantly challenge me and try tmake me into a better human. female sitch has flipped as well. Life is gator boots AND a pimped out gucci suit.
highlights from those sessions:
-whirling same mirage>ss drifter bsos in a dank run. definitely a fun combo.
-blurry torque>near gyro toe.
-toe ss revup>quantum legover both sides
-fairy same revup, both sides
I really wanna learn twirls & symp rev swirling shizz but i should probably get on schooling the other 4509345345 concepts i suck at for east coasts
kicking with the green monster and doctah bowler later. should be good times!

Thanks for the shout out. Totally stoked to have you as a shred partner and a friend! Having weekly sessions to look forward is one of the things helping keep me sane right now. And for what its worth I think you have your shit together pretty well for a dumb 22 year old.7evinkogan wrote:-Bobby Green. The man himself. Funny story about the profane one liners. I guess I hadn't realized that I swear as much as I do. First day back from NYFA and I walk into the lab where one of my coworkers is looking at some data, and thinking the data looks odd I pop off with "What the fuck is that?". I get a very odd look because we don't normally talk quite like that at work, and blame it on the fact that I was hanging out with a bunch of rowdy guys all weekend. Perhaps I am the rowdy one.
Steady mobbin' is not just the name of this jam, but a way of life.

Re: Hogan
Long time no post.
East Coast was fun but my hip/groin area flared the fuck up and when ¾ s of your game is stepping, quantum and pixie and it all hurts you’re fucked. I played super hard all summer just to suck when it mattered but that’s not anything new. Meeting cool people such as Derek, Dr. Bear & ERIK MO FUCKIN CHAN was worth the trip out alone and seeing everyone’s improvements (especially polini & cass) was dope too.
So good and bad news. Bad news is I think I worsened my groin/hip injury by playing with Bob to get the trailer stuff filmed and I haven’t played in a week now and the pain is pretty much the same as it was last week :/ Before it would go away after as little as a day or two after shredding so im pretty worried about it. It seems pelvis/hip fractures have extremely similar symptoms to groin pulls and given my history it’s not hard to see why I get paranoid with pain that won’t go away.
Self diagnosis wont help and I’m seeing my doc in a few weeks, but I’m nervous as fuck. I’m pretty tight with the Chiropracter in a business networking group I’m apart of (believe it or not I do a lot more then play hacky sack and make pot jokes ☺) so I may guy him into giving me a back ally MRI or something. The only thing the injury has going for it is that movement really hurts (funky dexes and stuff) but I can run, hop on one leg or whatever pretty much painless and typically with a fracture its weight bearing activities that hurt, although walking is painful for sure. Mostly just lifting my knee and stuff that really kills.
Sucks this is right before a jam that’s really important to me but if this is a fracture and my body is just destined to always fall apart I really don’t have any interest getting better at footbag/playing a lot in the future, sucks to say that but I would much rather invest time in activities that will bring me fulfillment and good mental health, if this was 2010 and I was facing the possibility of being hurt at my own jam I’d be on suicide watch . I’m fortunate that years ago I made peace with the fact that I may never be able to play again so If that’s what happens I know I can accept that and deal with it in healthy ways. Regadless of how I feel, I’ll be shredding at Haverhill jam hard, even if it is a last hurrah before I’m injured for 8 months-a year.
Good news is my design and overall business skills have been improving ten fold. Lots of super cool projects the past few weeks that came out looking pretty killer. Made passports to exact IRL dimensions (will post on instagram prolly) for a networking event at the building I work in (450+ businesses). Sponsors for the event stamped various pages with there names printed on that sweet security green stock and whoever filled out their whole passport booklet got entered in a chance for a free ipad. Turnout was phat and I made flyers, posters, nametags and sponsor tags for the event that everyone was utilizing on top of the passports. I basically walked around, drank margaritas and stamped shit while people raved about the event. Felt pretty baller. What gets me off the most about what I do is getting people to constantly have to look at the shit I made and like it no matter what. The print and design really made the event and theres nothing better then working on a well thought out, truly clever project like this one was.
I was mad congested and sick the past few sessions but I think I played well and finally settled into the new laves. Got some nice phasing revups sealed with strings and hit alpine blurry drifter for the first time in years and def first time in lavers, also sauced vertigo quite densely with flip midrun. Session also wielded 3 new tricks: alpine smog (trying flip a bunch really made my groin hurt ☹) flipside ducking swirl and alpine vortex, all verified by bobby g. I was gonna keep the last one a secret and hit it again on tape but the next time I play footbag may just end up being the first day of shoetown jam and who knows after that.
also heres the trailer for our jam, who knows if the embed will work.

Gonna keep a positive mental attitude and hope for the best. I have a good homie in heaven or wherever so hoping he can help cut me a break. I really don’t wanna stop playing footbag :/
Hoping all of y’all have a dope weekend with good vibes and shorteeeez

Re: Hogan
if you skip over my blog cuz i write too much please just read the last paragraph if you wanna help me make some phatty looking footbag badges!

there's that embed. please come to this jam, i'ts really gonna be something special. Kev-crow confirmed! blackandyellow!
without having any sort of medical degree I'd say that if my hip/pelvis area had a fracture in it, i wouldn't be able to run let alone sprint for 15 minutes painlessly as I did last night at the gym. This gives me optimism. If I pulled my groin or have tendonitis or something I'll be almost stoked to take just month or two and just cross train and do yoga I can come back to footbag with super ninja strength.
working on some minor print projects for the jam which reminded me of those bitch ass footbag badges i've dragged my feet on. I haven't had a computer other then my macbook at work since july but i'm really amped to jump on alot of the projects i've had on the backburner the past few months including these. I started these probably close to a year ago and quite honestly wasn't really going in the strongest direction I could have been and I have a new idea of how I want to visually represent the badges and their various sets simple, cleanly and uniformly and you all can help me with that
If anyone wants to be apart of the design for the footbag badges, please send me some sweet still footbag shots that you think might look good as a siloutte....think that famous vasek superfly one. Even if you just set it up and are just standing in a trick position or something that would be helpful. I'll leave this offer up to anyone for the next 2 weeks as I wanna jump on these asap. I did ask Nick already so if no one else is interested i know he won't taking 5 minutes to take pics of himself pretending to do mobius.
BOSTON JAM ONLY A FEW WEEKENDS AWAY!!!! SALSA!!!! PENSKE!!! KEVIN CROWLEY AND DOUBLE WHISKY COKES!!!! FUCK YO NIGHTIME STREAMS OF CONSCIOUSNESS!

there's that embed. please come to this jam, i'ts really gonna be something special.
Re: Hogan

Oh ya.
Ran 3 times totally painlessly to test my groin which ended in a 4ish mile run around my city. After that I was pretty sure i could play footbag if I changed up my trick selection so I've played maybe 4-5 time since last post. Working on breaking swirl/rev swirl record, a little swirling gyro and putting lots of time into dexless (which my computer keeps auto-correcting to sexless, awesome), especially spinning ducking. Starting working my first drills with that concept and getting comfortable hitting genuine in and out of spinning ducking shizz. starting to <3 maelstrom.
Speaking of maelstrom, if anyone going to the jam gets here early on thursday for some reason, I'm seeing blockhead in brighton that night if anyones down I have a few spots left in my car if you buy your own ticket (mine was less than $15)

strings are starting to feel good too. it's pretty wonderful how good running/leg strength training is for one's legs. heres some random lowlights before the jam.
-spin duck osis>sealed with both spin duck clippers bee sauce starting on bs. trying to dial these in.
-swirling spin clip>pdx whirling swirl
-jani>riptide>shitty surprised run. first furious sets in weeks lul
- "ps" whip b2b sealed with zooming near whip, lots of shuffle/spins and quantum whip. feeling on that link lately too.
3 work days tip the jam. cannot wait!

Re: Hogan
That Jani> Riptide was ridiculous. Just be careful on the whippy motion of the Furious. I think Dexless is the way for you to go right now. Spinning Ducking is really fun, and I think your game would pop nicely with that addition. And Swirls and Rev Swirls steez up anyone's game, imo. See ya in 4 days, Homedawg.

Re: Hogan
had some random snibits about boston jam kicking around on my work computer:
Props to Bob for pretty much coming out of (seemingly) nowhere in the past year and being an awesome shred partner & friend. Also for bringing in a fresh flavor to reinvigorate the crew. I don’t know what to say about this jam that can’t be said about Afghanistan, just all star work all around from Bob as far as cooking/crash space accommodations/general great hosting goes.
Bob helped in the early formations of the now shred equivalent to training day Jime Panske so it was so fucking phat to have him here hitting furious same side motion in our faces!
Shredwise I somehow played shittier then east coasts but no excuses, working on a training program with Matt K. This might be the year I get good!
Random streams of consciousness regarding this jam & fun things:
- watching Blockhead drop some funky fresh beats with Sarah & Alan then going home to Beverly where Polini was already at her house and ready to get weird. Having Nick here is always awesome as he gets along so well with all of my homiez and always brings such solid vibes (you know, when he’s not hating gays or trying to deny woman basic rights).
-fun pants/non shred laves sesh with polini in my driveway. I hit flip toe far pickup for the first time and nick was hitting all types of crazy shizz like mobius>mobius in running shoes.
-underground basement shred and first time meeting Jip Pullske, who I’d probably been looking forward to meeting since I was like 16-17 haha. Played in a circle with Mathieu & K Crow for a long time and this was probably the only time I played somewhat ok all weekend. Mat’s fairy spinning shit is sex.
- Shred spot was so dope! It’s a shame that its going to be closing down in a few weeks.
-I don’t think anyone pronounced “Haverhill” correctly once this weekend other then the obvious.
-During a Denzel warmup sesh with the champ himself Jiff Poolske, he informed me of a mission from god we must complete which ended up involving a pen, mountain dew bottle, chewing gum & tin foil. I can’t speak of the victory that night on the interwebz, but I got a call from the history channel yesterday trying to create a documentary on the exploits of Jim, the journey and his jimmy riggin’ skills.
-Cassy is never going to come back to Boston because for some reason every time she spoke she used a word with out” (full Canadian accent) 15 times & every time I was entertained. I thought of Ricky from TPB each & every fucking time…I’m so cultured and wordly….sorry cass. PAHK QUARTAH YAHD BEAVAH CAH DONNIE WAHLBERG
-Speaking of Cass, almost every string I saw of her’s was super stylish, especially feelin’ dem twirls & rakes. She deserves props for not bailing on the jam when her whole convey bailed. K-Crow & I both agreed this was cool and we both would have bailed had the roles been reversed.
- hitting tripwalk with a fire hack
-lots of classic bob quotes that would only be funny if you were there. Most of my favorites were in the garage, naturally.
-geocachin’ with nick & a very ominous ianek (see nicks photo on fb) . He offhandly gave me some pretty great life/shred advice which is always appreciated too.
-Finally played with Ianek after not having the dick to play with him back in 09’ at the first boston jam. I couldn’t of been less impressive but from what I saw he was going off. Motions all day & Atomic Gyro Blink son what!
-Really enjoy Ianek’s passion & perception of the game. I guyed on him a little bit but I truly enjoyed our talks. He definitely cares more about spreading footbag and fixing it’s inconsistencies more then I do.
-watching Bob, Ianek, Jeep & Mattkay in one of the last circles of the day on Sunday. Bob had a dank run with ducking clipper>whirl with drifter and stuff in the seal! Go Bob!
So much awesome stuff I’m not including/forgetting.
A dude I worked alot with at my internship passed away at 25 a few days ago. We always talked about collaborating on something in the future a good bit but obviously that never happened. my bones felt cold going to sleep last night.
Working on some really exciting stuff with boatz. I'm probably on illustrator close to 20 hours a week non work related at this point.
Lots of drilling drilling drilling & fixing gaps in my game. Spent the past 4 sessions or so on swirls, rev swirls, dynos & some pixie stuff trying to beat records and not suck so much at this footbag thing. Here's a few guylights:
-whirling same revup and whirling same rev swirl. cooloroonie.
-near double switch new on bs
-first steps out of frantic
-flurry>toe flurry....wanted this for years!
-ducking knee bumping clip>grifter bs
