Ken: Haha yes I really goofed on this one. Will try to get writeups done faster in the future. Will do the next part either today or tomorrow if I have time.

----

I've had a few sessions since my last footbag post, some with Matt and a few solo. I learned Butterflies a few days ago with Matt's help. They are very cool. Will try to work on them more and other clipper stuff during my session with Matt today. My legs are pretty destroyed from leg day a couple days ago. I think I will just make footbag my leg days instead lol. Cya for now.

Session with Kemdawgwalker today. Wasn't really feeling it at all in the first half, got really frustrated with my level of play and that further messed things up. But I took a step back and tried to calm myself and slow everything down and it helped a lot. My legs were still pretty fucking dead from leg day so I really wasn't expecting to hit anything of note. But I got a few new links and a new trick on one side.So ended up being a pretty nice session. H1ghlights:

 Clipper > Far Mirage > Legover BS
 Paradox Mirage Bsauce (not in a row but close to one another)
 Butterfly > Paradox Mirage BS
 Symposium Mirage from right

Ate dinner with our footbag recruit Natalie. We spent a good deal of dinner debating the usefulness of naps and whether or not the van in Scooby Doo was named the Mystery Van or the Mystery Mobile (hint: we were both wrong, it's the Mystery Machine). I learned that lentil soup isn't really that awful, but I still prefer chicken noodle soup...

My roommate and I made this agreement where neither of us would shave our facial hair for the rest of the semester. If either of us shave, the other one has to shave too. It's awful so far, I'd like to try out having a bear but at the rate my facial hair grows I'd be lucky to have one by next Christmas. But I like my roommate's beard so I don't want him to shave, thus I also cannot shave. Oh well, I can be Shaggy for Halloween next weekend. I already have the scraggy beard, green shirt, pants, and long hair. DON'T EVEN NEED TO BUY A COSTUME LET'S GO.

I'm a piece of shit.

Okay. Uhm footbag, right. Haven't done that in a fucking week. Been way too busy with hip hop and yugioh shit. But mostly practicing hip hop. Cuz I'm performing in a talent show on Friday... Fuck. So yea, probably having a session today. Then more hip hop, maybe sleep. Sorry if this is really unorganized, I'm scatterbrained as fuck right now. Uh, footbag right... Pumpkin Jam was fucking dope. Don't time have to do a full write up but I'll do some highlights:
 April's cookies
  Arboretum adventure with Nick Poolini (we saw real bats in a human-made cave)
  New bags from April and Ben (Halloween and Joker themed wooo!)
 Watching John WIck with footbag crew
 Listening to Fifty Shades of Grey audio tape with El Kemino
 Working on Orbit forms with P00lini
 Chilling at Shred Haus with everyone

Also some highlights from my session last Tuesday.
 50 Inside kicks (25 BS)
 50 toe kicks (25 BS, 6 in a row)
 20 Orbit x2 (10 BS)
 100 Inside Stalls (50 BS, 25 in a row)
 30 Mirage > Legover (15 BS, marathon style)
 50 Pickups (25 BS)
 20 Mirage > SS Mirage (10 BS)
 10 Clipper > SS Clipper (5 BS)

Yea, so I footbag now. Will update later.

Hi footbag people. Sorry for the lack of content (and lack of footbag in general). This post is going to be mainly self reflective, not really organized in any particular structure. Just to get my thoughts out on paper, so to speak. Read on if you enjoy random emotional rants.

I'm at a weird part of the year/ life. Next week is looking like hell as far as academia goes (last week of classes so research papers to finish, presentations etc). After that is finals week which I don't think will be too bad this year, maybe only 1 or 2. After that... Winter break. So a solid month of nothing really planned. And that kind of worries me. When left to my vices, I don't really feel like I'm actually enjoying life, ironically enough. Like sure I have a bunch of free time to play videogames, watch tv shows/ movies, draw, do whatever. But I'm not really doing anything productive so I'm basically just wasting time on bullshit which is cool sometimes but I just turn into a mess when I don't have a schedule, some sort of game plan etc. I feel most confident in myself when I'm doing something worthwhile.

Winter sucks. I just really fucking hate it and I'm so done with the cold and snow and ice. It saps the happiness out of things and just fucks with my thought processes or something, I don't even know. So I need to work on finding something I can do to occupy my time over the winter break. It doesn't even have to be very productive, maybe just like a skill or talent I could hone for a month.

I've been playing more and more chess recently and find it wonderfully stimulating. I'm not very good yet but I still enjoy it a bunch (kinda like footbag). So maybe I could do that, research common plays or moves or something, study grandmaster games. That would be fun, and I would get a decently useful skill (it's cool to be able to wreck people at chess).

My other main option that I am considering is music.  I am just beginning to practice the guitar with help from my friends AJ and James, and I've taken a greater interest in vocals/ singing too. I love music quite a lot and honestly feel it is an integral part of being a human. If I had to describe human spirit with only one word, it would probably be music. If I could learn how to express myself, my feelings, and my experiences in a way that is both poetic and pleasant to listen to, I think that would make me very happy indeed. So developing my knowledge and expertise with music is probably #1 on my list for things to do over winter break.

If anyone has any other possible suggestions or recommendations on the ones I already said, feel free to comment and let me know them.

Some other stuff I might write about later but this is it for now. Footbag has unfortunately been on hold the past few weeks and the near future doesn't seem so great for big strides to be happening anytime soon so that kinda sucks but... :/

Peace for now homies.

If you're going to the fridge so often, might as well take a beer out each time.

Winter kinda sucks but I think it makes it possible to fully appreciate the warm weather when it comes back around.

Chess and music are both cool so definitely go for those!

I would also strongly recommend trying a yoga class. It's great for the body and mind.

Thanks to everyone for all your suggestions. Some of them do sound pretty cool. Cassy, yoga seems very fun and a useful tool for relieving stress maybe, I'll have to look into it.

In brighter news, I've had two sessions since my last post. One on Sunday and one today. Had a nice talk with Polini and he helped me get back into it. Sunday's session was mainly just to play, no real focus in mind. But I did a few drills and new links today:
 5 mirage > legover rpt x1
 5 legover > toe > clipper x1 (4 repeats in a row)
 5 Mirage > clipper rpt x1
 Inside > clipper rpt x1 bs
 Inside > butterfly bs
 Paradox mirage > butterfly bs

Uhm what else... I'm finally doing some hip hop practice with other people again tomorrow (the last three practices have been canceled) so that's cool. I'll post a video of our talent show performance if anyone's interested. I've also been thinking about adding little music highlights or things related to guitar so today I worked a bit on E major and minor scales, E major and minor chords, D major chords, A major chords, and C major chords ^^ that is all for now <3

Ben- Thanks doode. You're pretty awesome yourself. Tiltless drills are fun. I will provide a link below for anyone interested.

Had a p chill session today. It's kind of cold as balls so I went to the basketball courts at the gym to shred. Saw some of my friends and footbag apprentice Natalie playing volleyball, so I watched some cool volleyball plays in between drills. Today was mostly Clipper oriented since they seem to have declined in strength since I was last actively playing. Some things I did:
 20 Toe kicks x2 (1 BS, these are getting better? Kind of, still hate myself for not practicing them earlier)
 Clipper > SS Toe > Repeat Opposite x3
 Clipper x5 right, x4 left
 10 Mirage > Clipper > Repeat x1 (4 contacts each drill)
 30 Mirage > Legover combo marathon style (so 30 contacts over a number of drops basically)
 Clipper > SS Legover BSOS
 Clipper > Far Legover BS
 Clipper > Far Pickup BS
 Clipper > SS Legover > Mirage BSOS
 A couple Clipper > Opposite Butterfly starting from right (called Infinities according to El Kemino?)

God damn Dad always making me eat my vegetables:

Here is the video for anyone interested: Been listening to a lot of Glitch Mob radio on Pandora. Here are a few songs that I think people who are into electronic/ ambient music would enjoy:
That's all I got for now. Playing Saturday with Kemburgler. Much excitement. Until then, solo practice. Toodles.

Hmm. Been a while since kick or post. Let's see... I had a solo session 8/12 where I did marathon drilling. Stuff:
50 rpt of mirage legover mirage legover (50 contacts total)
50 rpt mirage clipper (50 contacts total)
50 Rpt mirage ss mirage (50 total)
40 ss mirage orbit (40 total etc)
20 legover op toe clipper rpt x1
5 paradox mirage bs
5 butterfly bs

Since then... Not all that much. Had a session with Kemdawgnapper... Last Wednesday? I think. It was pretty ok. Matt brought his camera and I filmed a few links n stuff. Playing for the camera is hard I think, much more pressure to get things nice and clean that the effort exerted in doing so almost outweighs the satisfaction of hitting that cool link or what have you. At least in my experience so far, maybe that will change...

I'm back home for winter break, which is kind of unfortunate footbag wise. No real place to kick indoors/ inside my house while not being in the way of people. I am going to ride my bike around tomorrow and try to scope out if the park nearby is an option still. If anyone has experience shredding outside in cold weather, some tips would be much appreciated.

Not really sure what direction to go in regards to footbag. I'll have to talk to Papa Matt/ Uncle Nick n discuss it at some point with them. For the short term, I just want to start kicking on a regular basis again. If I can manage that, then I want to work more on clippers in the next couple weeks. I think that if I spent a good amount of time developing them with drills/ links, they would be a lot more consistent. I can basically do mirages blindfolded now so it'd be nice to have similar levels with Clipper stuff.

Other than that, not much to report on. I am home, but I don't really feel like it if that makes sense. Kinda like Harry Potter I guess, school has become my new sort of home. Miss my friends, duelling Yugioh with people, watching movies n playing DnD... Oh well, I'll live through it I guess.

I have been playing more chess with my stepdad and sister. My sister usually can't beat me unless I'm drunk like that one time I accidentally misplayed and lost my queen. All went downhill from there. My stepdad and I have gone about an even 50-50 so far... I think he's won 3 games, I've won 3, with 1 stalemate more in his favor.

I like to get my bishop and queen out fast to get out pressure early in the game, usually one for each color. But I think this leaves me sort of disadvantaged defense wise, with some holes that can be exploited to grab some of my key pieces if I'm not careful.

I should probably look up some common chess openings/ strategies if I really want to get better. It's very exciting though, in a mental sense. I like the way it makes you think. Sorry if this is boring to anyone reading that's not interested in chess.

That's about it... Bye for now modified.

Had a session with Kemdawgwalker a few days ago. Went pretty well, shredded for about 2.5 hours. My legs are fucking destroyed from it though. Some highlights:
Ss pickup > muted ss mirage bsos
Ss legover > muted ss mirage bsos
Clipper ss mirage > legover bsos
Mirage > ss mirage x4

was p dopes. That's all for now. Happy holidays everyone.

Been a while since I last picked up a footbag. Day 1 session today was mostly just warming up and review of tricks, but it felt nice to be kicking again. Hate myself for waiting this long , get winded a lot quicker now, etc etc. But I didn't want to play for some reason most of my break. That said, I will be trying my best to play every day for as long as I can now, either solo or with El Kemino. Neat drill I spent some time on today though:
Mirage > SS Muted Mirage > SS Pickup BSOS

Operation Form Footbag Finesse is here.
