I double Matt's guess. The only unsure one is mid row most left. I wouldn't guess Jorden, but I have no idea. I guess it's someone from America, though.

There is no way that isn't Jorden. That is Jorden.

TA-DAH!

Some of these pictures were put up because they are my personal heroes. Others were put up because they are really popular players. And some of the others were put up because they were FANTASTIC pictures.

Re: First "good" sesh in a quite some time.

Post by MetZelRio »

News videos/editing are consuming my time. I hardly ever play footbag anymore.
I did today. I practiced BS consecutives:

Toe
clipper
legover
same legover
near legover
far legover

Then I practiced some links

diving clipper>swirl bs
spinning clipper>swirl (footed flip first try, but eventually got flip) (also got strongside again but super duper VERY controlled and smooth and just perfect. couldn't have asked for more. and strong spinning clipper is my weak one... BUT NOT THAT TIME!

Note: this isn't meant to get sympathy or to get someone to say shut up idiot and just play footbag: I'm a huge dude and it's HARD to play footbag! These 3>3 links are VERY good for a guy my size. /end note

I didn't try any tricks that would have ticked me off if I didn't hit them, such as drifter or osis type stuff, so today felt good.

Another note: when I jacked up my left ankle on drifter this summer, it hasn't really healed   I don't have good crank on it. I cannot crank it without pain, and when I do, the crank is about half as good as the other side, POINT BEING, I'm doing pretty good for and older heavier broken guy. I can change the heavy, and I can change the broken with therapy and stretching etc, but the old part.... its really doing a number on my mind.

Peace out my Shredders.

Resting for a while is good every now and then. A session right after a break tends to be amazing. I don't think you're old nor heavy. Maybe your muscles/joints are not used to those tricks yet. I swear I must've hit some tricks 10 000 times before they stopped giving me shin splints.

It's great that you decided to spend a lot of time on videos, they're really fun to watch. Those news are what this sport needed.

Do you have a shred video for the calendar?

I can neither confirm nor deny if I have a shred video for the calendar

I have gone from being completely addicted to drifters to being completely and utterly hopelessly addicted to swirls. I ain't bad at them either. I can even bust them out in pants.

Today's SwirlWorld Link Sesh:

Osis>Swirl
Swirl>whirl
Swirl>Osis
Swirl>Far Legover
Swirl>Far Pickup
Ducking Clipper> swirl (nobody could have done it better. it was as perfect as perfect gets)
Diving Clipper> swirl (first try)
swirl>ducking clipper
swirl>diving clipper
spinning clipper> swirl (first try)
swirl>spinning clipper
swirl> paradox Mirage
swirl> Axle (gyro toe maybe since it starts on clipper)
swirl>swirl

And single trick: butterflyswirl (I could totally hit stepping far swirl, riptide I think?)

I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO SWIRLING SET, BECAUSE I MUST LEARN RIPSTIEN. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

I spent about SIX hours editing video today. OMG news videos take so much work and time. I have come up with a plan to recruit a news team. I will be recruiting folks soon. However, if there is anyone interested in joining the team before I begin recruiting, please let me know that you are interested. with that being said: it takes alot of time and work to do this, so its not just a, I'll throw something together really quick type of thing.

Ah, cool, you have a video for the calendar!
Props on the swirls they are a fun concept I would like to get better at myself.

In reply to your fine text - congratulations - you now understand why nobody has done a full fledged footbag news podcast up to this point (at least not recently, I probably missed the earlier stuff). Good luck with the project, it's certainly a welcome addition to the footbag media being released these days. Back to editing for me!

Isn't riptide ripwalk swirl? I may be mistaken.

Let me know what I can do for your news program, it's a great project and I'm sure I could help out in various ways.

I'm interested in helping out with the news in some way. And are those Swirl links on both sides? You're getting really good, man. Shows you what practicing basics can do for anyone's game.

Swirls. Fun! The only thing more fun... Reverse swirls. In my opinion anyway. If you haven't already, you should give them a shot. And while you are still craving swirls, give whirling swirl a shot. You will probably find it's much easier than you think. As long as you can make the whirl uptime, then it is fairly simple. On another note, if I can ever help out with your news broadcasts, I gladly would. And on a third note, are you still doing those challenges in your challenge thread? And if so, may I submit a challenge?

Daniel, You are right, I actually meant to say stepping far butterfly swirl, but forgot to say butterfly.

Ivan: so much respect. My video editing is so elementary to yours. I know there is tons and tons of hours into editing. so exhausting and time consuming. much respect due.

Vojta: I accept, but the CURRENT problem is, I'm no good at drifters still and i've suddenly become quite good at swirls. simply a xbod inside stall atw. drifter is more complicated. I'll get it one day. I'll add it to my challenges.

Nathan: Please do challenge me in my challenge thread. I love having new stuff to aspire to. I'm thrilled to accept!

Nick: those links WERE ~NOT~ Both sides, Yet, never fear, I am not a one sided player. Let me prove it with today's sesh highlights:

Swirl>near legover BSOS
Swirl>far legover BS
Drifter BS (still training these darn things)
swirl>bubba BS
swirl>paradox illusion bs
swirl>near mirage bs
swirl>pardox mirage footed bsos, got bs
swirl>near pickup>near clipper>reverse swirl
swirl>near pickup bs
4 reverse swirls in a row, each to handcatch consecutively (seems pretty easy, I'll do flipside when I start training them)
swirl>far pcikup bs
swirl>osis bs
DLO bsos (still training these darn things too)
diving clipper>swirl bs
swirl>DLO bs
spinning clipper>swirl (both sides first try, BOOM!)
swirl>ducking clipper bs
ducking clipper>swirl bs

Dude... once I can get swirls really good consecutively, I THINK i will say that I'm good at them, but for now, I simply just love them.

as for the help with the news vids, i will eventually be contacting those of you who are interested in participating with my proposal, and Pardon me if I come across kind of strict, i kind of feel like this is my baby and I'm just trying to take care of it. :)

SwirlWorld day 3:

Butter>Swirl bs
ss butter>swirl bs
Infinity>swirl bs (flip first try)
Near butter>swirl (strong first try)
Ducking infinity>swirl bs
Swirl> reverse swirl (first try)(no flip yet)
Osis>swirl bs

I'm really feeling this swirl stuff. I think I might have good form and maybe a bit of steez, because I CAN freeze them, and it feels gooooooooood.

Haha you said the word "steez"! I almost forgot you were also a skateboarder in the past. I was like, how the hell does he know that word? Lol footbag is way more fun anyway :p I think we should start using that word in footbag more.

Also, great links. Sounds like Swirls are really coming together for you. My suggestion is to hit Swirls on. Both ends of your links. For instance, if you hit ducking clipper> Swirl bs, you should hit Swirl> Ducking clipper bs and so on... That will really sharpen up your Swirl skills. Stick to them for a while. They are a very important trick to learn for balance.

Day 4 of SwirlWorld:

Yeah Boyle! It was pretty incredible feeling, if you or Nick could do: Swirl>Rev Swirl>Ripstien>Revevstein, I would give you one click worth of props!

One highlight worth sharing:

Ripwalk>Swirl Bs

Haven't tried swirl Stepping anything yet, but I plan on it.

I have done ripstein a couple of times and revstein never, so I don't think those props will be coming my way. Swirling stepping sounds quite difficult. Stepping swirl is a fun trick. Either op or same side.

Oops! Must have missed a ">" which totally changed the meaning of that sentence.

I'd should have said something like:

Ice never attempted swirl > stepping anything yet.

Yeah, swirling stepping, omgsh! Nope!
