Polini's Link of the Day 2014

Post by F[uns]tylin' Eclectic »

Here's the skinny on my Link of the Day 2014:

My version of Jay's Link of the Day... Now, of course Jay's and Anssi's hard links were more difficult than the ones I was able to do. I suck at Furious sets, 4 dexes, linking huge tricks, etc... but.. I think you'll find that what my links are lacking in hardcore difficulty, they make up for in technicality. I should also add that I hit all of these in one session 2 days before the calendar was due to start. Stoked on that ;D

I wanted to use some fun tricks and some unusual surfaces in this running of LOTD. If you were upset that you couldn't get very far in last year's LOTD, my first 8 days will be more attainable for more players than last year. If you weren't present for last year's LOTD, I'll go over the structure real quick...

First 8 links are "Easy(er)", next 8 are " Medium", and the last 8 are "Hard". See how far you can get and post your footage below. Good luck, have fun, and I hope you like my style of LOTD!

PS: If you don't like my trick selection... tough cookies and milk :D You host it next year then you can do whatever links you please :D

Merry Christmas!

it took me a few minutes to figure out how to:

1. Gyro from whip (i had to make sure I gave it somewhat more of a delay.

2. Set the bag for the gyro legover. but once I set it properly, instantly hit.

This was a good link to help me train that concept. I'm getting happy/nervous for the next one(s)!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you Nick for getting these links together on short notice. I likely will not be submitting any videos of myself hitting them, even the first few may be a little above my skill level and I'm currently going through a little knee pain, but I will absolutely be saving these for a future date and am looking forward to all the great links and videos to come.

I got this one several times on each side. I guess these were the best executions of each.

Nice. Some things I'll be curious to see when this is all over are:

 Who ended up hitting all 24 LOTD?
 Did anybody hit all 24 LOTD both sides?
 Did anybody hit all 24 LOTD bsos?
 Who was able to hit the most unique LOTDs in a single string?

I actually ended up hitting all 24. Crazy, right?

And if I had to make a prediction.. I think Lycanthrope Evan Gatesman will be the only other one able to hit all 24. If Jay was trying these, I think he could make it through all 24, too. I know a few who can probably get really close to making it all the way through them.

I'd also be curious to see if someone else can hit the first 8 in pants, like I did.

I will probably only be able to do a few, so I'll probably post them once we know them all. I can only do 1/5 right now, still waiting for a shuffle. 8)

(or some European downtime tricks like Eggbeater, Barrage, Drifter etc)

I definitely enjoy it, though. My goal is to make at least one trick from the medium section. And maybe one from the hardest ones, but I'd have to get lucky. :)

day 4 and 5 are uploaded. i wanted to make one video with them, but this weird tool wont render it without glitches, so thats why i have seperate videos now. sorry about that

i have to say those were really hard for me, never hit anything out of blender (the moan at the end of the day5 thing is me realizing i got it and the flapper would probably not be visible)

also as a token of gratitude i made a special bonus link for nick
