Sad I only saw you for like 3 minutes at East Coasts. We didn't even get to play together! :( Next time don't come to the event so late.

I'm never at home and I don't have a working phone right now, so I haven't seen or replied to any messages. I think this is my first time home since Wednesday. My house is in such disarray because I spend more time at Laura's than here. The session today was nice and fun -- first session in 2 weeks, and two weeks again before that. Still getting over a week-long cold or flu, had a headache, 4 hours of sleep, extreme hunger and then scarfed a burger and fries JUST before playing... So my runs were even more non-existent than usual.

I remember one highlight I missed in that last post though:
-blazing whip x2 first try -- got props from Jay for that
Also kind of BSOSed whirr again? I don't remember.

Kevin: It was super nice to meet you too. I look forward to shredding to you when youre at full capacity. Your videos are so sick. Your BSOS whisk in that circle was nuts. Midstring you were, like, "May as well try flip" haha. Also thanks for the kind words. My runs kind of lack, but I appreciate it! Cassy's trying to reel me in for the Boston jam, and my lady is into that idea too, so that might happen! I was telling her today that I want to take advantage of her travel bug, 'cause without her FAT would not be attending any tournaments, like, ever. Best thing to happen to Toronto footbag?

Ken: My lady and I got lost in New York trying to connect with you guys at that bowling place. I was excited to chill with you a bit and meet the missus more. The subway lines were being bogus though and by the time we almost took a taxi across the city, Evan said you guys would be taking off soon. Will you be at the Boston thing? I hear Penske will be in attendance?

Cassy: Ha! Laura and I were just watching Anchorman 2 like just before I saw your post. We had a good laugh over that. We want a third movie exclusively about Brick.

Kevin: <3 (Did I heard that you'll be in Boston??... Haven't been online much lately either)

I'm so high. I had to leave the room because I was talking too much, which is pretty unusual for me... It's like 5 in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving <3 Oh yeah, great birthday :) New tricks and lots of love

Had my first new-apartment/winter's-coming indoor barefoot mini-session. Some new tricks inspired by Cassy and Lon:
-pixie near and far rake BS
-atomic and tapping rake BS
-quantum rake BS
-spinning and gyro rake BS
-ducking and diving rake BS

Got too tired to keep trying new concepts.
Also broke my near mirage record first try with 56 (from 35)

Really want to incorporate rakes, and I figured this was a good way to try to dial the base concept. Still super hard. I should have tried consecutive rakes too, but only just thought of that now.

Oooooh nice!!!

Yay rakes! They are going to be such a sweet addition to your game!

Consecutive ss rakes are fun! I like the bothsidedness of them.

I think I'm going to be a hermit this weekend but I'm really looking forward to Kingston next weekend! :D

Thanks Cassy :)

Session with Adam today.
I need to start playing at least twice a week. I'm totally losing my game. I cannot do runs for the life of me :(
But I had some highlights regardless:
-whirling same torque (new trick) -- footed flip a few times
-flip scorp > mobius? Actually, I don't remember which side I'd done it on before...
-slapping whip? new trick? Don't remember if I hit flip, so maybe I forgot after missing?
-footed cold fusion
-blurry whipping swirl first try > hand catch > other side
-gyro DLO > symp whip [repeat] first try?, almost gyro dlo > paradon [repeat] same run?
-footed mobius triple BSOS

Other stuff? Dunno. A run with a bunch of tombstones?

-rev mullet x6
-rev whirlygig x4
-spinning egg > whip > rev mullet (first try both sides) -- combo Dante was trying; spinning egg may be new on at least one side too
-spinning clipper > gyro [repeat] x10 (40 contacts) > rev whirlwind
-ducking ps mirage > pixie paradon BSOS and scorpion's tail BSOS, etc?
-blazing ducking clipper with blurriest > blurry whip > blurry whip > blurriest

Other stuff?
I feel like greg, cassy, and Derrick all filmed at some point. Cassy and i drove to kingston a few hours away for a juggling thing. We can say that we officially competed too. Haha. Really fun and great shred from everyone. Greg has amazing style.

Oh, also, stepping ducking was on. Stepping ducking clip > blurriest BSOS first try. Dont think i missed any stepping ducking?

Highlights from today with Adam:
-bullwhip BSOS
-blurriest > blurrier [repeat] (second time ever, but felt super controlled and deep)

And for footblog posterity since I only posted on Facebook, yesterday with Camille:
-114-contact run with stepping, ps, and spinning whip all BSOS, ending on gyro DLO > handcatch to end the session

Last weekend with Adam:
-100 osii > 100 infinities > rev mullet attempt to end the session

EDIT:
I never have time to write more than highlights or read anything else on Modified. Life is super busy lately. I actually am living on my own for the first time in my life? I'm so used to living with a partner and having that bonus personal time from sharing chores and responsibilities. It occupies so much more of my time to have to do dishes AND cook dinner, to do laundry AND fold and iron, to vacuum AND dust and clean, etc. Plus, my commute to work is an hour each way and I'm within city limits. Torontooo! Oh, also just found out that my student loan is twice what I thought it was AND that they've been taking payments from my bank account even though I was approved for repayment assistance (which was supposed to mean I was safe from interest and payments until January...), so the other week my bank account went into overdraft and I have had -$15 to my name until this coming Friday-ish.

It's mid-term break at my school today, so I have the day off. Very nice. I'm up early since my woman and her daughter had to go off to work and school, so I just came home and my plan is to plan video games, draw, and do some writing. So chill and it's gonna be amazing. I might read in my hammock too. Freedom! Which also means short week :)

Partnered life is good.
I'm getting a taste for parenthood, which is bittersweet. It can be very stressful, but it is also so rewarding and heartwarming. I thought I had more to say about that, but I guess not. Oh, well, my weekends are always spent entirely at the lady's house, so I'm finding myself increasing traveling as if I'm living out a suitcase, which a huge-ass bag with like multiple pairs of shoes, footbag gear, clothes for going out, books, everything... Kind of a huge pain, but I might end up stashing her place with more of my stuff, like backup footbag gear if I can find time to mod my stash of Climas, maybe buy a better pair of backup shorts, etc. She also suggested I stock her freezer with chicken or something for post-footbag meals she two little ladies don't eat half of what I do on a regular basis.

Headed to Boston next weekend with Cassy. It should be good. Then we'll be hitting up London (Ontario) the weekend after that. I got some tweaky lower back pain from two days of shred in a row this weekend, so I'll be cautious at these events, but I also played hard and well both days, and I'm feeling not super bad todaym even without having done yoga after either session! I did lather Tiger Balm last night though.

That's all I've got.
Back to relaxing!

EDIT 2:
Oh yeah, also:
-quantum whip BSOS, dropped on rev reactor BSOS
-probably other things too, but I don't remember

So I've been extremely inspired by you lately, Mr. Chan. The Whippiness. So good. I aspire to hit Bullwhip BSOS, or maybe just flipside would be nice. My flip Double Downs suck right now, but when I do hit that on flip, it'll be because of you and Ricky Moran. Really stoked to see the raw power Chan master make violent tornadoes around footbags this weekend.

Thank you for the kind words, Nick :)
Now that I think about it that was maybe the third time hitting bullwhip ever. Pretty fluky. Haha. But felt soo good. What a ln awkward trick!

So I got really sick the day before we were supposed to leave. Im glad Cassy went anyway, because she was pretty much needing a second driver, but hopefully she made it alright. Im so sad I missed the event. But it's for the best since Ive barely been able to sit up. And havent eaten since Friday. Looking forward to video, though!

Laying in bed unable to sleep. Been sick for over a week. Currently missing second out-of-town footbag event in a row that i had confirmed attendance at. Needless to say i havent played in a few weeks (and hence have had the time to put together some nagging footage). Buuut, the point of this post is that im pretty sure i just had a breakthrough moment in bed at 1 am -- the trick to bigger flipside whip tricks. Without even being able to physically test it, im pretty sure i move forward a lot more horizontally on my dex on good side. I think i had this revelation while thinking about flip rev tomahawk. Oh yeah i was wondering if i could do spikehammer > ducking whip [repeat] and felt like the flip ducking whip could be a gamble, but i think this was all i needed. Excited to try it in near future.

Really missing hack. And also solid foods. And doing anything without pain.

Oh, in follow-up to that last post, I happened to mention the mental technique over which I was ruminating and gave an example with flip rev tomahawk and hit it first try... I mean not a huge deal, but felt like I hit it BECAUSE I did what I explained to him.

So I had a solo session with Johnny today. Really nice since he too a 1.5 hour drive each way just to shred with me. I mean my subway ride the other day to get downtown was about the same or longer, but still. We both hadn't played in a month or longer (since the last time I saw him he said!)

I had my girlfriend's 4-year old daughter so that she could take in a yoga class, so I took her on the street car and we played a bit on the way and then I read her some pictures books while we waited for Johnny. And then she was super well-behaved for, like, 1.5 hours while we played and only started to get restless once mommy showed up.

It was a really fun session. I think only the second time ever we'd ever played just the two of us. I can't really remember any highlights, but we played well.
-a run with spikehammer > pixie whip one side and then blurry ducking clipper > spinning whip on the other.
-ended the session on a 110-contact. (First 60 were bails > butterflies, osii, and ducking clippers)
I dunno, more just a fun session with goods shred than specific highlights.
Oh, I was struggling wit rubberman, but did rubberman with fogs instead of blurs first try. Haha. So that was weird.

We chilled afterward over burgers and had a nice talk about our single-mom-dating lives.
Gonna have a nice chill evening now. Gonna play some Dark Souls 2, just ate half a pineapple (I picked up a whole, peeled pineapple for $2!), gonna cook up some ribs, make my lunch for tomorrow, and maybe watch some tv or movie in the bath. Oh, also yoga -- imperative! Lower back pain alert!

Sick dude. Cool you and Johnny had a duo session. I can imagine that it was more just a fun time rather than crazy highlights. I like that Spike> Pixie Whip though.

Just watched to stop by and say that Erik Chan is sick. Gotta do the Joulu now!

Thanks Nick :D
Had a great session with Dante ad Camille tonight. Dante's such a chill guy and i think we have a lot in common. We just nerded out over dark souls and star wars. Also i hit my first flip janiwalker. I asked him for furious tips and he had nothing to say. Then he just said to think blazing? Ive heard that tip before, but i tried it and bam. I think i can just furious now. Will need lots of practice, but holy did that feel good!!! We played quite well, but i forgot to plug my camera into my external battery so i dont think it lasted long :( Dante had some flippin EPIC runs. Some o my highlights:
-scorp > ps whip repeat
-food > rev mullet
-a run with lots of bling blangs bsos
-a run with mullet x2 pretty deep in and other stuff
-etc

Fun session today.
Was frustrated with runs as usual, so near the end just went for consecutive things:
-50 gyro clippers (new record)
-100 ducking clippers > rev mullet > hand catch (my record is 160-something?)

Some other things?
I actually filmed for the whole 2.5 hours this time, so... video in the.... not-so-near-future-on-account-of-NO-TIME

Some decent strings too? I don't remember what. Fun though, and a whole circle's worth of people for once, which was a much different vibe -- I think I was extra frustrated because it was so much longer between turns than usual. So failing 3 turns in a row was just discouraging. Everyone else was playing well, it seemed. Saw JJ for the first time in forever. Cassy came out and her game was looking really smooth. Alex came from London and hit backside blizzard for the first time. And blurry dada? Adam was Adam. Triples galore.

OH CRAP!
Almost forgot my biggest highlight!
Janiwalker first try and then footed flip same run. First try at furious for the session! Dang. Rah! Thinking about it a bit more, though, I don't think it will ever be a thing I do a lot of. Was feeling raw knees from just a handful of attempts after that. And I have real bad knees to begin with. Hence no whirls, hence 5 years of knee braces, etc
But, yeah.

First session in a few weeks, just with Camille.
Played not too badly, but also intentionally played lighter.

-bedwetter > symp whip BSOS and rev whirlygig BSOS
-flurry BSOS first try
(also some janis, but didn't hit one on flip today)

Not much else notable. Gyro whip > gyro DLO is way more fun and harder than spinning whip > gyro DLO. Gonna try to implement those more. Also pdx blenders seemed pretty good. Couldn't double BSOS it though.
