I played yesterday, but didn't blog about it. Yesterday, I had 2 sessions. First was with Boneslayer, second was by myself around midnight. Both were awesome. We filmed an intro to a dope promo video, then played some footbag. The actual session was sick. We did a game where we chose 3 tricks that we weren't great at.. then we would try to BSOS them. Lots of successful runs.. sealed one with Tombstone. Cool stuff. Ended on Gravedigger> Blur bs.

Hung out after I got home, wrote some new jokes. Then towards midnight, I wasn't tired, so I played again. Worked a lot on Barroque, because Ian Brill told me he could see me being good at it. I nailed a bunch of good ones. And some Flurries.

Today, I tested out some of the stuff I messed with last night. I filmed this one. Really proud of basically everything in this.

Thanks, TJ.. It's nice to hear, really. I have always been so tense while playing, and it's something people always told me about. Cool to know I'm finally starting to rid myself of the habit.

Just wanted to update since I haven't in a while.

Been hiting some new stuff that is kind of making me eat my own words... Those words are "I'll never be good at Eggbeaters"... Yeaahhh... About that...

Got way more consistent at Pigbeater bs.. Holy shit, that got so much easier.. I know why everyone does it now..
Wasn't going to mention this, but since this is more for me than other people, I'll add this.. I beat my old fearless record. From 7 to 8.. But I hit 8 twice and with 2 different combos. Don't want to release what it was just yet, but I hope to get the real goal soon. I feel it.

Tried for more fearless today but my body was so achey, so I jumped rope, unicycled, and watched Godzilla instead.

Nothing else that I can really highlight. My game just feels better than ever right now. I feel a new level coming soon. I like where I am in footbag right now.

So, yes it's the birth of days... and I just hit 10 Fearless. The goal of all goals, man. Fucking TEN, not stupid ass 9 Fearless. 10. 10 of the tricks that don't ever get scared.

Got to hang out all day with Nadiah, then got home and banged out the second biggest footbag goal of mine.

And since I did flip Ripped Warrior in the beginning somewhere, I got way better at them I think just doing this has elevated my game a tad. Can't wait to play again.

So today at work was really cool. We spent all day GoProing fishes. We mounted a little floaty bobber onto the company gopro and sent it sailing through the fish trough. I'll post an instagram video soon. It was like a free body, floating through the water.

I was just channel surfing a bit ago and landed on America's Got Talent. I happened to see the coolest thing I think over ever seen on tv. This kid named Drew Lynch is a comedian, but he has a stutter that he got from a softball injury. Ball hit his vocal cords.. the kid just killed in front of the whole audience. The one guy gave him a total pass through to the top. I guess that'd rarely done. But now this kid is going to be touring professionally. Such an inspirational story and the kid is genuinely hilarious too. Check him out and give him props. He deserves it.

In footbag news, I hit my 8th Beast yesterday. I kind of can't believe that.. I never thought I'd even hit a beast. And now I have 8 under my belt. Insane to think I was doing one sided clippers a handful of years ago.

Anyway, that was cool. Footage will come out eventually.

Played after work today and had a Derek Littlefield-inspired session. A lot lot lot of Pixies. In fact, I hit a long term goal today.. and maybe this explains why I suck at Pixies.. Smear x10 bs.. it actually felt very locked in and solid when I did them, especially on flip. I could do strong side for a while now, but I've only done like 5 on flip, but very uncontrolled.

10 fearless is a solid way of attesting to how great of a player you've become. props on completing the tricks in succession needed to reach that verbal benchmark of greatness, and on national nik day too.

It's silly how much you've blown up. I did not expect to see the goofy fuck in the jester outfit hitting ugly rev swirls to become one of the best north american players there is currently and drop combos like that.

I feel like an old softball dad watching his young, socially inept son that he suspected to be more interested in spending time with the lads in the showers knock out home run after home run and run the damn game and deservedly so.

Today was a new reminder to why I don't want kids. WARNING: THIS IS A RANT ABOUT CHILDREN BEING ASSWIPES. My mom is a science teacher for 7th grade, in case you didn't know. I helped my mom out with a science field trip. First of all, getting parents to go was like pulling teeth, I guess. So they needed another assistant. Since I have a degree in Biology, I was drafted. It was just a simple water sampling field trip to this state park. One part was checking the dissolved Oxygen and pH and other chem stuff, and the other part, where I was placed, was macroinvertebrate sampling. I'm more useful in that area, anyway. The kids were like little shithead demons on energy drinks. No one listened, they wouldn't shut the fuck up and listen to instruction. We needed to collect a decent amount of macros to get the kids to calculate stream health later on... The kids brought back jack shit for specimens. Their numbers are totally skewed now because they were lazy. This was almost every kid, too. There were a small handful who tried. You could find SOMETHING on literally every rock, but their excuse was often "I didn't see anything" or "I couldn't catch it". I'm so glad I'm not a teacher. I feel bad for my mom, who has to deal with that shit all the time. Kids are really sucking these days.

I've helped with this trip in the past years, and I often do a footbag demo for the kids. In the past years, I had a lot of interest and some of the kids would even kick with me. This year, I did the demo... the kids were not phased.. then they ran off to roll down a hill. I felt like I just tried to entertain a bunch of hamsters.


But when I got home, I felt the need to meditate with some footbag. I hit some cool stuff. Most of the session was dedicated to drilling some stuff.

Well... I took Ivan's advice and called him... At 2 am that night/day. Scheduled a last minute session in about 8 hours from that time. Got it sealed..

Played with Ivan, Bonslaver, and 2 new guys (both had good lavers) Carter and Danny. I think everyone played ok. I didn't play the greatest, in terms of strings.. But I hit some new tricks/links, which was nice.

The new guys area well one their way. Both getting clippers bs, Carter hit bsos and b2b.

Nathan hit his first 6. Wtf. And it wasn't a cheap 6 like Blurry Dada.. He hit Food. Oi.

Ivan was killing done double downs and Drifter/Whirl links. Also, jesus, that kid got pretty good at Quantums and Atomics.

My highlights:

Gyro Flux bs new on both.. Gatesman told me that was his original dream trick. He seemed pretty stoked that I hit it, which was cool.

Later that night, I got home and drilled Near Flux, which is a super duper asswipe bitch. Don't think I've ever battled with a trick so hard before. But I ended up saucing it, so thatc was cool. Also Ripwalk> near Flux bs. Ended on Pdx Whirl> Ripwalk> Pdx Illusion> Smear bs. Not hard, just stuff I don't normally link in strings.

My parents are talking about throwing me a big going away party and I might turn out into a weekend footbag jam. More on that later.

Dear Boatz and Tous, not sure when it is, but I'll surely announce it. Don't know what the deal is yet, but I hope it's like my Gradionships Jam. That was mega cool.

So I had a session with Ivan today. I think we both played rather well. We definitely didn't play badly. So that's awesome. Read Ivan's blog later on for his highlights, but he hit some new tricks and new combos. Love kicking with him. Always a blast. From the time we were roommates and we argued with each other about whether or not to save a spider in the apartment to now, it's so cool to see how far we've both come as friends and people. I really commend him on dealing with my random yelling and babbling that year. But he had his ways of getting me back, like the "bomb" in the kitchen that was just Gatorade bottle filled with water with train set lights wrapped around it... Coming home from Pita Pit at 4 am, seeing that in the middle of our kitchen, and reading "Do NOT Move: Explosive Material" on the front of the bottle... I think you'd shit your pants too.

Had a cool session today. Hit some new stuff and stuff. Evan told me the thing that would make me a better player is having longer strings and slowly pushing the difficulty. So don't expect big links in this video. I'm going to have a bunch of sessions like this and see if it improves my string length and my game in general.
