There is some general info here: http://www.footbag.org/worlds2015/copenhagen/

And this does a pretty good job: http://www.vice.com/en_dk/read/the-vice ... n-2014-132

Hello Modifeets - It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you without a blogpost to step to..

A small update from the land of bacon, hot blondes on bikes and the 36th IFPA World Footbag Championships!

I haven’t played footbag in ages but I got myself a Wacom drawing pad.
So here is a drawing of a footbagger:

I'm almost certain that depicts a Quantum set. 8)

I am 90% sure it is a Superfly. I have asked Milan what it is, maybe he will answer..

SUMMER OF FOOTBAG started yesterday!

We were invited to play at this afternoon dj/rap jam thing at our usual thursday spot, but due to shaky weather the music got cancelled. We decided to still throw down even though it was cold and windy.

Big turn out with Migger (injured but filming and stuff), Kim (+ wife and his awesome kids), Nis, Rasmus, Jan, Verena and the superstay Mathias Blau all showing up.

I only played for 20 minutes, the weather and not warming up made me overstretch something, don’t think it is anything serious. Hopefully I will play on monday. Remember to warm up kids!

My old friend and t-shirt printer extraordinaire Salih came through, kicked, drank and hung out. Back when we were studying multimedia design he used to really push me for most kicks. I think he got 126 once. The guys were pretty impressed with his skills. He even posted a photo on his instagram. He wanted to hook us up with some stuff for Worlds and of course come and hang out. Good dude.

I am stoked over this new “people posting paintings”-thing going on on modified - as you probably all know art is my second love after footbag (not counting booze and ladies).
So I am gonna start posting paintings every post I do in here. I am gonna try to focus Danish painters. The first one is this one:

Image
Ejnar Nielsen: And In His Eyes I Saw Death, 1897, Oil on canvas, 188 x 137 cm, National Gallery of Denmark

This is one of my favorite paintings ever. It is said to be in the style of symbolism but it is so minimalistic. I feel like this could have been painted today and still be considered amazing contemporary art.

I haven’t had a footbag session since before my last post, we have however started kicking during our breaks at work. I work with Michael “Migger” Nielsen, who is a (former) footbagger from Copenhagen and a guy who has now become such a good friend I refer to him as my uncle. He is still pretty decent. One of the guys I work with has even learned to do Toe Stall, Inside Stall, ATW and Legover. I need to bring him out to a session.

Image
Guy to the left is Michael. Guy to the right is the guy with the new tricks.

Yesterday I picked up some t-shirts for promotional use and swung by Mathias Blau and Nis Petersens session. Jasper showed up and we drank a beer and kicked it in the sun. Mathias was working on a short routine for a TV Show and I gave him some pointers on how to make it more crowd friendly. Good times.

I swear I am gonna start playing footbag again next week.
F[uns]tylin' Eclectic wrote:Also, I can't stress it enough... Get really good at Infinities ASAP! I'd say you need to be able to hit 30 before even playing regular footbag again.
I have been playing 11 years now and I don’t think I have gotten over 20. I think I should start working towards this.

I wanna write some stuff about Worlds but there should be a number of announcements coming next week.

That drawing of yours is awesome. Like the painting too. Looking forward to being there in Denmark. Are galleries and museums etc free to get in in Copenhagen?

Galleries usually are, museums are not.

Here are the ones I would visit if I was in Copenhagen:

http://www.smk.dk/en/
http://www.glyptoteket.com/

And if you are willing to travel a little bit:

Hi peeps

Just a quick update regarding me and Worlds:

- Excited that my all time favorite player Renato Zülli is coming. He is a really cool guy as well.
- Registration should hopefully be up today or tomorrow.
- I still haven't played any footbag but I am still planning on competing in atleast sick3.
- I got a bunch of good (and some weird) submissions for the video contest. That's gonna be great.
- Going to London on sunday to wednesday. Gonna be great to get away from the office.

Hit me up if you have any questions.

The excitement for Worlds is growing stronger and stronger. More and more people are hitting me up about when they roll in, small questions etc. Milan has already landed and Nick Landes should land right about now. Both of them will be at my birthday party on sunday.

Fun fact: These days Milan are busking away at the main shopping street in Copenhagen. He calls his spot there "The Office". His "Office" is located around 500 meters away from my actual office. 8)
