Paul Gressett (MetZelRio) and I worked very hard on this project which is being released right now. We've spent hours and hours editing and critiquing and the players involved have spent hours shredding their faces off to give you, what we hope, is the sickest non-BAP high level footbag video you've ever seen. Depending on feedback we get, we're considering doing more similar projects like this one. So please comment and share if you think it's rad.

This was such a fun video to be a part of and to manage (Paul did all the editing. What a beast.) Glad you guys really liked it. Our inspiration actually was 90's skate videos. We wanted to try to make footbag look more bad ass.

Sooo fucking swanky. Thoroughly digged it yo. Music selection was on point. Edits were clean af. Definitely got a skate vibe sort of feel from it yea. Very nice vid. Really appreciate all the work you guys must have put into this, going right into my epic footbag videos bookmark haha.

I really enjoyed this. It definitely reminded me of old skate vids, and the late 90s/early 2000 footbag videos that were modeled on them. Kind of like Aggressive Grounds, which I can't find online, and its final sequel, Where the Ripwalk Ends:
A few thoughts:

I like how each section showcased each player's personality. In fact, I wish there were more/longer interstitial non-footbag segments for each section.

On a related note, while I like each player having a section, it can also be cool to have a segment to break up that pattern. For example, the classic skate vid "Yeah Right!" had a bunch of player sections, but also had short sections like invisible skateboards and the magic board:
If you do another video like this, my request would be no indoor footage. The whole production is so nice, its a shame to include indoor footage which is noticeably lower visual quality than the rest. Mark's section I would have skipped if I wasn't such a fan of his style, but even then I don't think I'd watch his section again because its so jarringly worse in terms of visual quality.

On a similar note, I particularly liked the sections that had varied backgrounds. I'd almost make it a pre-req that anybody's section can't have more than 2 long runs with the same background.

Similarly, there should be a requirement to have at least 1-2 hand held shots in each section. I know its hard for a solo shredder to get somebody to film them, but visually it mixes things up a lot to have some non-tripod footage sprinkled in. When Ivan made that video of me, he was able to use the editing software to hide that 90% of my footage was tripod. Just adding that bit of motion really helps hold the viewer's attention.

I liked that 3 Europeans and 1 Canadian were featured on this. Made for some nice variety.

I find the whole "non-BAP" thing to be pretty arbitrary and pointless. There are retired/aging members of BAP who don't shred as hard as people like Dante, Bear, etc. Why make a distinction between BAP and non-BAP? Why not just feature players that are fun to watch?

If you are sticking with the whole non-BAP concept (which I think would be dumb, but whatever), here is a list of players I'd like to see on the next one: Brian Bear, Taishi Ishida, Cass Taylor, Alex Trenner, Luis Monhollon, Santeri Karvinen, and Marius Wilk when he gets healthy.

Ianek's section was a joy to watch for pure creativity. Awesome.

Overall thank you to Paul and Nick for doing this. Very nice surprise to watch, and looks like a fun community project that makes the sport look more badass. Good jorb.

I like Ken's idea's for the most part. I'd take the skateboarding theme a little further and wonder why there aren't footbag teams? Probably need sponsors. Team video's would be awesome.

Totally agree with you. The outdoor stuff makes it look more public and cool. Mark's section is great, aside from choppy video quality, agreed.

I can only imagine you're talking about my part I know what you mean, but I tried to use my actual street for my part because of the lyrics in my song "I know where you live".. because, well, now you do! But I originally wanted to film it in other spots, until I picked my music. I agree, though.

Definitely a solid idea. Movement keeps them watching. I would have liked that too, except like you said, it's tough to find someone sometimes. We'll consider this for the next one.

I can answer this question. Because we wanted newer players to see that you don't have to be BAP to matter to the community. We were originally going to have a short intermediate interlude, to further prove this point, but all the intermediate players bailed except 1, but we had to boot that part, unfortunately. The facebook footbag group makes it seem like "Oh you have to be a BAP player to post footage that people will actually comment on and watch", so we wanted to exclude BAP to really nail this point home. Plus I feel that all the players in this video are about at the same shred level, and if we would have included any players that have been BAPped or offered BAP (sorry Ken ), they would have masked everything everyone else did. Maybe next video will be a BAP video? Who knows.

We asked Bear to be in this one, but he couldn't get the footage in time, so he politely backed out. I don't know Santeri K, but most of the other players you mentioned would have been good fits for the video. We asked a lot of people, but they either had too much going on, or they politely declined. We wish we could have put more players in this time, but people have already complained that it's too long. Frozen was long, but you still watched it, right? Of course you did, because it's a baller ass movie. We hoped it would be the same concept with this video, but I guess some people were bored by it. I like the idea of using some non-footbag stuff to keep attention. That is what Paul and I talked about and told everyone at first too, but no one came up with anything, except for Anton, who filmed his crew walking by for his outro. We would have like more stuff like that and also funny stuff.

Oh guys, it just makes me feel so cool and nostalgical(is there such a word in English?). Like from old good times when community was the most important thing. So inspirational!
