That counts.
Hey, I'm waaaay behind on blogging and video posting. I think Polini has some good strings of mine on his phone, so wait until I can get that from him.
This is going to be a short New Years Jam write-up because I am so fucking tired right now. Just a few hours ago, Zach Jahner came over with Ben Babyack on the way to the airport and we shredded for a while. Ben is crazy good now, definitely better than me overall. I'ma have to do some major work if I wanna keep up with him! Definitely a nice way to end a successful jam.
Festivities started at my apartment last Friday. Turns out, my new place can fit two circles at once! Then it was off to Whirlyball (the
real reason for NYJ). Erik Chan knows what's up! For the rest of you who might not have ever played it, it's like basketball + lacrosse + bumpercars = AWESOME, and Zach is literally (yes,
literally literally) a world champion at it.
This was a much smaller event than in years past we had 13 people come in from out of town, and about twice that in total with the Michigan shredders plus non-footbagger friends. It worked out well. We used Adam's new house as the shred spot instead of renting a big venue and it seemed like everybody got to talk to one another more. Also got to use Adam's kitchen to make massive amounts of burritos for everybody. (Thanks, Sean!) And can't forget about BDA's home-brewed Big Dick Ale....
We had a few Michigan NYJ fist timers: Erik, Tom, and Corey.
So everything was cool until Saturday night into Sunday. Got back to my apartment super late after seeing the new Star Wars, and whaddya know, I spew my dinner into the can! Two delicious burritos down the drain

Honestly, I have no idea what the fuck happened. I was the most sober person there! So I had to rest up most of Sunday and didn't kick again until today. Oh well, still fun.
Random thoughts:
- For fucks sake, Nick Polini is so good. Look for video later because I definitely got a few good strings of his on camera.
- Matt Kemmer is stepping up his game. He's been to 7 competitions since Worlds and was playing longer than anyone else at NYJ.
- I love having people visit my apartment. Beats driving around Michigan!
- I missed Tetris because I was sick, waaaaaahhh
Bye, come again next year.
