Khoa wrote to me yesterday and said he was interested in getting the tourist visa to come to Australia, so that would be super cool if he came for a visit.

If Khoa is going to visit Australia, that would be a good excuse for me to get out of Michigan for a bit....

You might have to book soon, not sure what the news is but sounds like he is coming out for a wedding in a couple of months. Any footbag visitors are always welcome in Australia (although they often come back playing less footbag than before!)

That looks like a bit of a modern update on the Ned Kelly series from Sidney Nolan, who is a very famous painter. Nico loves those paintings, I think I have posted them on top posts before. But in reality, it's pretty rare for people to have guns in Aus.

I asked Khoa about it today. Unfortunately he's planning to go during a week that I simply cannot take off from work. Perhaps I will visit another time.

Did another 20x20 yesterday, so that's 3 for the year. I started trying today, but it was too hot.

Today I ended up trying a few fearless combos and this one came out pretty well.

phoenix>ripped warrior>spinning ducking butterfly>motion sickness - next trick was ducking clipper but I think I could even get that reasonably consistent and add on pdx blender or motion or both. That would work nicely.

Earlier today I was trying a few flipside tricks that I can't do very well/at all. Fog and mobius were the main ones. Came close to fog and not so good with mobius. Will keep trying more of that kind of things through the year.

Killer run! Those long strings feel so good eh? What a stress reliever.

I haven't tried the 20x20 I don't think. It sounds like good motivation for longer runs.

Yes, this 20x20 is great for building up the run length. I find it much harder than expected to keep going and do the 20. I hope to pass the 100 mark this year - came close the other day and I think the 20x20 really helps in doing those long long runs.

Been playing around with some knee bumping stuff, that's been a bit of fun. Haven't really had any long sessions, just been getting in a few tricks on my breaks from work. I'm on day 8 of 10 days in a row, so looking forward to the end of that, which is also a little bit of holidays. We're going to Sydney and then some time down the coast. That should means some footage of footbag in cool places.

I took my drone out for a fly the other day and didn't crash it as many times, so that's some improvement. I think the camera on that is not really that good, but I will get it flying properly before I worry too much about that.



Also a new vlog. We went to Luna Park for Francisca's birthday, that was fun. A bit of footbag in here, in front of the harbour bridge. Also we went back to the same place I used for most of the Joulu video, which is a fun water play area. It was a lot more crowded this time though.

You should try calf bump > near knee bump > far knee bump > near calf bump > near knee bump > far knee bump > near calf bump -- feels sooo cool and silly at the same time lol

That bumping run sounds pretty fun. I'm not much good at the calf bump on my flip so will have to work on that. Yeah, like those pincher ending tricks.

I've been off action for a while, been doing some travel with the family from Chile. We started in Sydney then had a few days down the coast, then about 4 days up here together. They left this morning, having the chance to celebrate Nico's birthday. We had a party on the weekend and my dear wife well over and dislocated her thumb. So she spent most of the party at the hospital, but is all fine now. Well she has a permanent thumbs up...

I have been playing in bits and pieces, I've put something up on Instagram almost each day, I think there was one day I missed.

That was a nice part of the trip. I booked an Airbnb which was a bit of a mansion. I think the others had little faith in what I would book and got a bit of a surprise about how good the place was.

Hard to believe that Nico is now 4 years old. That's gone by fast. Glad to say that I've been playing regularly in all that time and improving as well. Was also able to make one Worlds (Copenhagen). I think that's the only tournament I've been to in that time. We did a mini event here in Canberra with Juho and also a Narooma Jam also with Juho but that's about it. Hopefully this year we will get a Narooma Jam again or some kind of event.

I did another 20x20, which takes me to 4. And as it's the end of the month, that's 4 for the month. So at this stage I should be able to get that 20 total done before midyear, though that could be earlier or later. No hurry. I'd like to get that done this year though. The start of the session was a struggle, I was hard pressed to achieve a 2 contact run, let alone a 20. I got a couple of 40 or 60 runs through the morning which allowed me to get there.

Got a couple of tricks which may be new - atomic ss motion. Not sure if this is actually new, I did atomotion before but maybe not this one. I also came close to gyro motion, but I'm not sure if I really spun enough into it. I dropped it anyway so nothing to report really. I also did a cool little thing, pixie toe kick drifter, which is really two tricks but that was a fun link.

Also, yeah, it sucks when you can't link to save your life. That's what I was struggling with the past few sessions and what prompted me to get back into 20x20 because for me personally it helps boost my consistency.

Gyro motion is neat. I get what you mean about questioning your rotation on a trick like that...I feel the same way about gyro blender, and motion is just a weird trick to begin with in terms of dexes.

Loved the random DSC so deep into the string in the last vid too!

There are a few of those gyro tricks that don't feel quite right. I would like to get that gyro motion though, that seemed a trick that not many people do.

We've just been down in Bega for the weekend, we had a memorial service sort of thing for Mum. We had the funeral in Sydney but not many people from down there could make it (only one or two). So while it was kind of hard to do another event, bring up that sort of sadness and stuff, it was really good to do it, and it went very well.

I was the MC of the event and it all went quite smoothly, so that was good. We had some family and some of Dad's friends from Sydney come down as well, so we all went out for a Thai dinner as well in the evening.

I had a good session before going out to the thing yesterday, playing in the front garden where I first started. Had some nice long runs, and felt probably for the first time more comfortable doing longer runs and bigger tricks with the reasonably new Lavers I got a while back. I still like playing in the old Lavers if I want to have a proper session though.
