I used Firebird for a while but I recently switched to Opera and I must say I love it. For some reason on IE and Firebird my download max was 50k/sec. But on Opera I'm getting 100+ every time.
The bookmark organization and the fact that it's always right there on the side of the screen is nice too. I too often neglected bookmarks before figuring I could remember the sites. But I forgot to check alot of my sites and now checking my bookmarks has become habitual.
It has tabbed browsing (which firebird also has) which I really enjoy. I open a new window for every page I go to and usually have about 5 or more open at a time. It's quite handy. Alot better than constantly going to the taskbar and opening up the group and scrounging and pecking for the site I'm looking for.
The only thing I don't like is how it constantly takes me to the transfers window every time I download something. And then I can't close the browser. But it's such a minute detail I don't care
. I actually think I'll shell out the money for the software because it's just so darn good.

Rob>> If you set up a default download directory, you can just right-click and choose "quick download". Then it wont open the transfer window. (Still wont be able to close the browser though)
I also use Opera, for most of the reasons mentioned above. The feature I like the most is mouse-gestures. It makes browsing so much faster.

mouse gestures are similar to keyboard commands, but you use the mouse instead. for example, hold done a mouse button and mouse the mouse left so the gesture is back, move it right and its forward. move it down and to left it does a command. there are many different mouse gesture combos that you can learn, similar to keyboard shortcuts.

It enables mouse-gestures for use throughout Windows.
It is very customizable, you can, for example, choose your own gestures for certain commands in Photoshop.
You can also train it to recoqnize new gestures.
It has an fully extendable API, so third party developers can use it in their programs.
I just installed it, and I must say I am very surprised how well it works.
I am still customizing it so that it uses the same gestures as Opera.
Plus its free...
