Converse?

Post by SpaceMonkey »

Ok, first i have to say that I am not that experienced with footbag, oh and this is my first post, but anyways during the summer I decided that I should get some Rod Lavers to help improve my game. So I ordered some off of worldfootbag.com. These shoes worked great for my game but the only problem is that I totally killed the shoes in around 5 weeks, I mean there were holes all the way through the soles of it. So I was wondering if Converse All-Stars would be a alternative since they are easy to find and the material used for them is very thin. Thanks for listening.

I used to have those- they are not all that good for footbag, I say. That big rubber thing on the end of the shoe is really slippery, so toe stalls are a pain with them. Hah, give in, just order another pair of Lavers.

I'd love to buy another pair of Lavers but I can get All-Stars so cheap like $20 cheap.

My question is..

How on earth did you totally ruin a pair of Lavers after 5 weeks?
Are you THAT hard on them?

I wore them to tennis and the traction on them is not that great so I slid whenever I went to stop or change direction.

I know that Vaska uses one pair of Lavers at least for a year, maybe year and a half, but to kill your shoes in 5 weeks is insane!

SpaceMonkey, just buy another pair of Lavers for shredding only and try to play on smooth surface, carpet or wooden floor.

I guess I will just have to break down and buy another pair of Lavers (the green ones :D ) anyways I need a new footbag. Right now I'm using a Mr. Sandbag but i would like to have a bag that is smaller and heavier, they seem to work better for me. Any suggestions?

I've been there and I was thinking about getting a Mirken, but I heard that he is to busy to make them now so I was wondering what is another small and heavy bag because I can't seem to find a description of the hand stitched ones anywhere.

there is something fundamentally weird (wrong) about yiour style of play if it is causing your shoes to wear so quickly. I say this because my shoes used to wear quickly. However, as i have improved, my shoes have been lasting me much longer than before.

describe the way in which you land, push off, etc. do you think its abnormal? do your other shoes wear as quickly?
