Do you eat Refined Sugar Every day?

Post by QuantumBalance »

This is a quasi experiement. I believe that refined sugar is a drug that was introduced into the human population as a manner of control. Regardless of whether this is true or not, I bet that if, answered honestly, this poll will show that over 95% of the people on this board can't escape it. I, personally, have been trying... IMPOSSIBLE!

I heard after 5 days straight without it that you are off... but leading up to that, one will experience SEVERE withdrawl symptoms. Symptoms such as not feeling satiated.

I don't eat it every meal but I WOULD eat it every day if I wasn't shaking in fear of getting caught eating food upstairs I was not invited to eat...

I put once a day.
I don't actually get any from my meals, and I drink water, sometimes tea with no sugar during the day at work, and I don't snack.
All bets are off on the evening though, my housemate only drinks pepsi, and I hate waste so end up finishing off bottles that she would leave :x .

I voted for every meal. Not that I eat much sugar (if any), but I sure drink alot of coffee with sugar, somewhere between 5 - 10 cups a day, depending on how much work I have.

I probably eat it at every meal, too.

Oatmeal for breakfast. I have a brownie with my lunch, so that's probably the only thing I have at lunch with that in it (or pop I mooch off others). Then whatever I have for dinner generally probably has something bad for me in it, I would think.
Oh and I drink a shitload of orange juice from concentrate, that probably has some in it, too.

Just in the past week, since i moved out of my parents place and am now preparing all my own meals, i realized that my diet craves both sugar and chocolate on a daily basis. i eat a little debbie 'star crunch' about everyday.

Sam, i dunno about your hypothesis man. your passive sentence begs the question: who introduced it? was it 'the man'?
During european expansion, nobility and rich ppl were the 1st ppl to really demand (and consume) a lot of refined sugar. So sugar was more accurately introduced to humans as a luxury denoting social status rather than a method of control since these ppl were in control of society.
But i do agree with you that sugar is a drug; i read that when sugar became available for all ppl, human behavior was changed dramatically (everyone was more hyper), so the state tried to regulate the sugar industry and comsumption and shit

As far as soda is concerned, it's either 'refined sugar' which is said above to be a source of control as well as a source for rotting your teeth out of your head (if you don't brush a couple times a day)... or Aspartame (sp?) which is rumored to cause cancer, problems with memory, and slight uncontrolable muscle twitches. I love soda. :?

I did switch to diet sodas since i started getting a cavity after a flawless record (drank lots of Mt. Dew...) so I'd say I don't consume very much refined sugar at all. Whenever I see someone drinking a regular Mt. Dew... the craving is definitely there, although it could be caffiene related. Other than that, I don't eat candy or chocolate anymore and most chips/snacks do have some sugar in them, so I'd say once a day.

Peace.

I hear Aspartame is much worse for you than sugar. That's what's in anything diet.

Why introduce sugar to control people. Giving the population bags of scag could keep them in your control forever

i've been trying to cut out refined sugar, and i've done a pretty good job. what i usually do when baking is use pure maple syrup as a substitute for white sugar. you can use 3/4 of the amount of maple syrup as sugar and also reduce the dominant liquid in the recipe by 3 tablespoons (usually milk or water). i'd say i have refined sugar during one snack a day, cause i don't make all my own treats.

juan- a really good way that i've found to get your chocolate fix is to make fudge. if you make a big batch of it, it will satisfy your sugar and chocolate cravings. i've never tried making it without refined sugar, so i guess now i have a mission.
