Okay, tonight I decided to devote an hour to whirls. I'd been putting it off and putting it off, and finally got my act together and drilled drilled drilled.
As it turns out, they're painful if you don't already have them down. And I'm not talking knees, if that's what you're thinking. I'm talking the bruises on my calves acquired as I approached the delay. Not having done them much before, I lacked the coordination needed to avoid repeatedly kicking myself in the back of the leg.
Is this a regular thing? I mean, for those of you learning them now, are you going through this? For those of you who've got 'em dialed, did you go through this?
Seriously, the back of my right leg has this red mark. Red.
ive never really kicked myself there on whirls. my problem was bending my leg sideways like that, you know? and probably moving fast enough. i skooled the HELL out of whirls though. and it totally paid off. theyre easy now. it took me sooo long for flipside, cause i waited so long. i dont think it HURT to skool though. it was just incredibly frustrating.
Yeah I occasionally do that on lots of moves. In melbourne (but the concept is growing... ) we call it a fetish. Barfly fetish is probably the most common for me anyway.
The only move I ever hit myself on is illusion.
I just learned whirls on strong side, and the only pain I got was when I first started I was really slamming the dex leg hard into the ground.
ha ha ha,i thought i was the only one, i used to repedetley (spelling) kick myself in the calf, but i dont do it to mcuh anymore.my knees hurt crap loads if i school the for ages.
