I was just wondering how long it normally should take someone, or does take someone to go from first hitting their first move from a certain set, to being able to do most moves from the set, midstring, without even really thinking too much about them...
So basically the question is, how long does it normally take you to master a set?

Yeah, obviously mastering certain sets would be a little harder than others... but I'm just talking in general terms ..RipWalker wrote:Not very sure, but it may depend upon the type of set that you are trying to master... that would seem logical.
Peace.
So say it took you 2 months to master pixie set, 2 months to master stepping, almost 3 months to master atomic and 5 months to master surging, you would pick 2-3 months.
While I learn more slowly than almost all the new whipper-snappers out there, I find the concept of `mastering` a set in less than 4 months kinda silly. No offense meant, just my personal opinion. After playing for over 6 years, the only set I can claim to have `mastered` is the pixie set, and only on one side. I would say that took me at least 2 years to `master`

i've been skoolin the barraging/furious set for about 4 months now, only one one side mind you, and I still only hit it like 1 in 3 attempts. Moreover, Ive only hit about 5 moves off the set, and have major troubles setting it across my body to my flipside. It will certainly take at least a year or more to have this set "mastered," possibly more like 18 months (just for 1 side
)
im gunna start learning flipside soon i guess

It really depends on how much you practice the set as well. I've only just started hitting fairy sets - but I don't practice them very much, so they still need heaps of work - I think if I spent a couple of sessions really working on them, I could have them pretty solid - mastered is a whole different story...
