Dominance
Dominance
I'm sure most of you read Eli's post but for those who didn't I'll go into detail on the subject.
The 2 types of dominance are foot-dominance and side-dominance.
"Side-dominance is when a player's *natural* strength (in moves) is from the Clipper of one foot and the Toe of the other. For example, Ryan Mulroney, Sunil Jani, Allan Haggett, and Vasek Klouda are side-dominant. They all have natural strength with the left foot clipper and right foot toe.
Foot-dominance is when a player's natural strength lies with the same foot for both clipper and toe. For example, Big Add Chad, Ahren Gehrman, myself, and Peter Irish are foot-dominant players. Chad's and my left foot is naturally strong with clipper and toe, while Ahren and Pete's are right foot." (Quote from eli's email)
Whilst neither is better, they ARE however different.
Do you think side-dominant and foot-dominant are the best terms to describe these? If not what are some suggestions you have? Also, which one are you?

I'd probably be side dominant. Left clippers and right toes. Although there are some cases where a move that is set and caught on the left but really features the right that are easier as they are (like mirage, I learnt right mirage but my left mirages are way better now).
The ideas of side dominance and foot dominance is a pretty good one although I think they're both covered up, a bit confusingly, in the term flipside. From what I understand, you could have a general flipside (right/left sided, generally the same as right/left handedness) or a specific flipside (left toes but right clippers in my case). I thought the term referred to the former case but then someone told me it should be the latter.
But I don't really use the term much anyway so yeah. It might be good to have the terms side/foot dominance as they're more specific.
It's possible that side-dominant people would appear to have less of a flipside than foot-dominant people.

I think I may be side dominant because my left-footed clipper is much easier than the right, while the right toe is easier for me than the left.
But it's hard to tell, really. I think the main reason that my right clipper is bad is because the lower section of my right leg is turned outward by about 45 degrees, so its really hard to make a flat surface for right clippers.
so yeah I'm side-dominant I think

i like to kick the little footbag thing around and move my legs around it and stuff
I think it may be because you might be better with dexes with the opposite foot that you're good with stalls with. At least for me it's like that...most likely because mirage was one of my frist moves, so I would do the delays with my right toe and dex with my left leg, so I think I may be better at dexing with my left. That may kind of explain the inconsistency.

I'm sideways (left toe, right clip), although for some reason my left leg is very dominant, insides and outsides are cake, clippers suck (but that's more a positional/support leg issue). Yet the only things I can reliably do with my right leg is clip and toe, inside is weak(which I don't get seeing as it is my better clipping foot, need to get more flex in me ankle), and outsides are non-existant ... damn I hate my bowleggedness, still it beats being pigeon-toed I guess (although that would make fairy anything easier)
