American Idol Racist?
i do think the american idol voters are racist, but i also don't think that last week's show proved anything. out of 6 people, 2 were white. out of the original 12, 8 were white, and jennifer was the first black contestant to be sent home. i think it was really a case of the fans voting for people whose personalities they liked, and not their singing skills. here's an article that msnbc wrote about the "people" factor in voting.
i agree with elton, just not with his reasoning in this case.
that's awesome that you got to attend a taping. right now one of the biggest reasons i'm missing living in los angeles is all the tv shows i want to see live. i'm mixed on who is going to win, but fantasia will be in the top 2. maybe she'll get second and then be the one who becomes successful. or maybe george will be the one getting second. although, he's been in the bottom 2 or 3 so many times, i don't see how he's going to make it through.

i think it was his time to go. he could have been voted off last week and it would have been fine, too. seeing jennifer hudson singing gloria estefan would have been a better performance, but i thought it was nice how (unlike the others) john gave the song his own feel. granted that's because he can only sing in one style, but he has a nice voice and is good at that. he had no chance of winning, so first week, this week, last week...it didn't matter when he left. he was going to go eventually.
who's in store to leave next week? i say it's diana or jasmine.

I think Elton John is a racist. He stereotypes Americans based on the results of one TV show. Like I said before, I don't watch the show, why is the race card being played by Elton John? Are there still minorities in the running? I find it hard to label a show racist when an African American is the defending champ.

Sorry about the choppiness of my post. I just have a few points.
1) Dude. I don't like Jennifer at all. My favorites are Fantasia and Latoya. Does this make me racist? Or does this make me have the opinion of the general public? I think its the latter.
2) I am offended by Elton John's statement. Who were the top 3 this past week? Fantasia, Latoya, and Diana. 2 are minorities. The other is from Georgia. (Diana goes to high school at a school that plays sports against mine. We pwn them.)
3) How is the general American public racist? They aren't. Those people sold the most albums because they appeal to the CD buying audience. Little girls and their moms are more likely to buy Clay Aiken than Ruuuuuuben. Clay and the gang just appeal to the ones who used to buy N*Sync and BSB. They are filling the power vacuum thus benefiting financially.
