Is it just me or do Motorcycle Cops seem (in visual appearance and attitude) like bigger assholes (figuratively) than "car" cops?
In Denver the 16th St. Mall which is where we always used to kick, is always patrolled by motorcycle cops and they were always such dicks.
Am I alone on this?
Edit: my apologies to you if your parents are cops (bad career choice)

I'm glad not everyone thinks like you.Splint wrote: Edit: my apologies to you if your parents are cops (bad career choice)
I'm not really surprised that the third option is winning at the moment, but it's sad people are so prejudiced. Not all cops are assholes people, christ, they're human beings just like you or I. Since it is a position of power, inevitably there will be people getting that position that are power mongers, or people who will abuse that power, but there will also be a lot of regular upstanding people as well. The fact that people give cops so much shit, regardless of whether or not a particular cop has proven him or herself to be an asshole, only makes the good ones jaded.
If you call all cops assholes or pigs, then thanks a lot, you're the one making certain cops assholes for the rest of us because who wouldn't get a jaded after getting shit for nothing but providing is a valuable, risky civic role?

Exactely. It's a job that they do, and I'm sure, when you're lying on the ground with your wallet gone and a knife in your ribs, I bet you wish there was a cop around then.sPinko-Mania wrote:If you call all cops assholes or pigs, then thanks a lot, you're the one making certain cops assholes for the rest of us because who wouldn't get a jaded after getting shit for nothing but providing is a valuable, risky civic role?
Cut them some slack and then maybe they'll cut you some.
My apologies, I reread my post (short as it was) and realized it didn't portray what I had intended.
Inititially I was only thinking of the Visual aspect of things. Motorcycle cops, to me, look like bigger assholes than car cops. While I was typing I guess I let some negative experiences influence my fingers.
Even so... in my current town, there are many cops that I know, either from having gone to school with them or from fixing their cars in my Step Dad's body shop (he used to be a cop). Guess what... their is not a single time that one of them walks in even with a smile on their face and I know that in an instant they can go ugly.
Police are trained not to trust you... they are not trained to use their better judgement or to believe the stories you tell them.
Will I be happy to see a cop when my wallet's gone and a knife is stuck in my ribs...maybe...BUT I'd be much happier seeing a paramedic at that point.

Haha, I'd say it is about even. I'm sorry if I offend anyone as well, but I am generally against cops as a kid who lives in a suburban town with a million cops who sit on the side of the road all day with radar guns trying pass quota. Now those are assholes.
Well anyway, one day in the winter I was driving home from snowboarding with my buddy. We got onto the main highway, and naturally I started to speed, because how else am I going to get home fast? We go around a bend or two, and then all of the sudden my radar detector (escort 8500, saved me plenty) flashes the word LASER and starts beeping like someone flatlined. I hit the brakes and slow down to the speed limit in time to go around another corner and see a cop standing OUTSIDE his squad car with a radar gun. Needless to say, my friend and I started cracking up for a good 10 minutes, because the cop had his helmet on, and had this real athletic looking stance. What was he going to do, get me on radar and then run my car down? Good times.
