mr. sandman expiriment

well my sand bag days are behind me for awhile but I had about a dozen Mr. sandmans lieing around so:

I emptied out a Draryl bag and filled it with plastic pelets and bbs.

And it flet pretty GOOD!! The wight and feel of a 32 with the price and breakin time of a Sandman.
Any of you out there who have heaps of "dead" Mr. sandmans around, try puting soume solid fill in and you may like the results.

Hi Nate,

my Mr. sand man also has lost most of its filling and I want to refill it with sand again. So how exactly did you open the bag? I just don't want to see the bag get wasted (by my clumsy hands ;)

I heard re-filing it with like micro pellets is a very good idea.

Daryl does not sew his bags all the way up to facilitate the refilling process. Look along the seams and you should find an area that is glued together. Simply pull that area apart gently until the glue does not stick that part of the seam together anymore. Then, you you can fill the bag with whatever you want. I believe Daryl uses filtered sand (he filters the small grains out.) You can either glue that area back with fabric glue, or shoe goo, and it will be good as new... sort of :wink:

steve (millenniumtree) made some crushed panne bags filled with plastic and bbs, and after about 3 days the panels blew. A huge whole just blew out.

I think thats because it was a tiny bag with 40 g of bbs in it, but that might happen with yours nate

Yes, it was due to the BBs. If you filled it with only tiny pellets, it would be much more resiliant.

I made the mistake of putting 75 grams of BBs in a microsuede 12 panel... That one blew all it's panels in _literally_ 3 hours of shredding.

I'm trying to make my own bag.... what would you guys reccomend off the top of your heads?

And do you think it'll be easy to get them?
