Bizzare session stories.

Post by Posi-Cole »

So today myself and Chris (m4d_hacker) were shredding, and all of a sudden we hear the voice of this girl, couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 years old? (correct me on her probable age Chris, I'm bad at estimating), anyway, she said:

"Put on a shirt, or get lost"

Chris was shredding without a shirt on, we ignored her. Few seconds later:

"Put on a shirt, or get lost"

Again we laughed it off, and contemplated responding, but decided it best not to get into an argument with a preteen, and no, she didn't tire herself out saying this, she continued to say that sentence over and over, as well as other pleasantries such as:

"I'll call the cops!"
"You don't go to this school, me and my friends own this school"
"I'll beat you up" (Perhaps would have been more intimidating if she threatened a big brother to beat us up or something.
"I'll murder you"
"I'll take a knife and poke you in the stomach"
"I'll call 911"
"Read the sign, it says put on a shirt or get lost" (At which point I stepped out and asked her where the sign was, and then she said her friend had said everything)

She just kept saying random things for the better part of 20 minutes, with 3 or 4 "Put a shirt on or get losts" in between them. It was really weird, she was like hiding in a bush saying it, and then would just walk by us as if nothing happened, then go hide again and start saying things again. She even went to like the far side of the school where we could hardly hear her, but still she continued to yell every 5-10 seconds.

Really, really weird.

Sorry for the kind of OT thing, but I just thought I'd share a kind of odd story. Anyone else have a truly odd story from a session?

One time when ashley still lived here we were shredding at this one college. These guys from a film class came out and were like, filming saome story about a wizard playing chess or something. they started randomly filming us and put us in some college video. it was pretty weird.

i cant top you getting yelled at to put a shirt on though.

Kind of along those same lines, but I was at work.

I work in a huge hardware store, and was walking out to the Nursery section, when this kid rocks up on the other side of the fence, looks in at me and calls out, "You're a Monkey Dick!" Then he rides off, thinking he's all big and tough.

Kids are like that, I guess.

Oh man Cole, it was so funny but so annoying at the same time. And yeah, I think you're right about the age.

At one point, probably like a 15 minute span or so, she literally said "Put a shirt on, or get lost" every 10 seconds or so. It definately made for an interesting shred. And to think, if we only took the other side of the building like you suggested, this wouldn't of happened, haha. (good or bad thing? 8O).

I didn't even think of posting this :P

I got yelled at by a youngin' once too. I was kicking outside of my house, and the elementary school bus, where kids 9 and under go, passed me. Some kid yelled out something like 'Hey faggot stop kicking your sack.' I got dissed by a nine-year-old :(

It's a defense mechanism to ridicule that which you don't understand.
They're just jellous

I think it's just plain rude.

I may comment privately or to a friend or something if I saw something new/unique that I had never seen before that I thought was weird, but I would never ever publically berate someone for an activity they are doing and obviously enjoy. However, maybe that's simply because I'm a footbagger, and I know how it feels to have that done to you.

Not sure if me or Colin told you this before, Cole, but one time we were kicking in Mic Mac Mall having a pretty good session. Anyways, this group of kids around our age walk by, look for a sec and then say "you suck!!!" while walking away.

First of all, I don't see how they would know if we suck or not if they don't know anything about the sport. Secondly, I hate it how people always tend to say something while walking away, not to your face. It really shows how "tough" (can't think of a better word) you are when you say something to someone only to run away after saying it.

Grrr...

About 4 or 5 years ago in Denver we had a special little session when Alex and Jane Zerbe were visiting (though Jane was at the time Jane Jones  )

So it was Sunny, Daryl, Alex, Jane, Myself and one other person...Paul Mestas maybe (though I think he was juggling). We were not kicking in a usual spot, instead we were kicking in the park directly across from the state capital building which, while beautiful and open, is frequented by many homeless people and drug dealers.

Anyway, we're all there having a great time with old friends and shredding away and we notice one such undesireable person watching us...and watching us....and watching us. Partly we thought he enjoyed what we were doing, but mostly we got a very unnerving feeling because he had a pissed off look on his face and kept fidgeting and pacing around the park while watching from about a 100 feet away.

After about 20 or 30 minutes of this he walked over to us, and being the kindly sorts that we were we invited him to join us. He then proceeded to yell at us for destroying the sanctity of Hacky Sack or some such nonsense. He said things like, "Why don't you all use your own bag, you're just hogging it anyway" and "this isn't how the game is supposed to be played" or "you're supposed to be working together not being so selfish".

All of those things have been said before by various people, but this guy was down-right pissed of and beligerent. Sunny graciously said, "we share in eachother's accomplishments and you are welcome to join us". The rest of us probably weren't that nice, but I don't remember.

He walked off after a bit, still all pissed off, and continued his nervous angry watching and pacing for a little while longer until we finally noticed he just wasn't around anymore (not in the demonic disappearing sense...he just left).

That was by far one of the most annoying footbag stories I've been a part of.

Wow, that would've been a very uneasy and kind of scary (maybe) occurance. I think Sunny handled it pretty good, I can't say if I would or wouldn't of said something like that though... I'd be pretty offended in his ignorance.

Good story!

My teacher was like that when he played with us. He was an old school hippie and very strict on no self-serves (which was fine because we didn't do that) and didn't like it when any of us (mainly me) kept the bag for tricks. He didn't understand freestyle and refused to learn, but he was a cool guy.

I guess the most bizarre thing that happened to me while shredding was to come down to hard off of a jump and have my balls slap my leg and make a really loud popping noise... then my friend Gabe asked what the hell happened and I was like "My balls hit my leg" and we just busted out laughing, and didn't believe me because he thought I was lying and making a joke. I think that's the most bizarre...

Hey Brad, oh the memories...I had completely forgotten about that strange day in Denver. What a freak! I had a similar experience, only less persistent, last weekend at the Folklife Festival in Seattle. THere were about 4 circles going on..I think I was kicking with Noah, Ricky, Red, Justin and Miles when some annoying person approaches us and continues passing by while the whole time uttering "selffish, selffish, selffish, selffish, etc." I don't know why, but it made me want to pound this guys face in (luckily I know how to channel my anger into other forms, eh?) If I wanted to stand around getting full hacks all day long, I would have gone over to kick on the lawn in some sipa circle. okay, my rant is done :-)

For the same reason, I don't like kicking in downtown Seattle near Westlake -- there are so many hacky slackers and they hate freestylers because they think we're ball-hogs or selffish, whatever. now if we were self-serving...*THAT* whould be selffish.

yea i hate it when circle kickers do stuff like that and make fun of freestyle, and it doesn't help that i'm not good enough to do big tricks and show them how crazy freestyle is, a lot of people are like, what you got special shoes for that, you make time to do it??!?!!? are you crazy i just do it when i've got nothing better to do man you have no life.

Yesterday Dan and I were busking and a clown came up to us and started yelling about how good we were and how everybody should give us money etc and then wandered off - it was a bit surreal. - Just a random clown wandering the streets of Melbourne...

Jeremy, do you mean the 'Ronald McDonald - "Hey children, come and sit on my lap"' kind of clown, or the idiot sort of clown?
I hate the former type. They give me the creeps.

I wish a clown would do that to me :( That'd be pretty wierd, I'd probably be laughing or something.

Again, good stories..

Cool story. It reminds me of the resistance vid where random guy Hans interfered with Yacine, and Yacine told him off and kept on shredding it up.
