.png and .jpg aren't responsible for flattening layers. Photoshop will do that before you pick the compression method.

If you want to get rid of picture artifacts (jaggies, as I call them), go to http://www.adobe.com and go to adobe Xchange, and in the photoshop search menu, type Artifact Remover. This should give you a selection of actions to remove artifacts.

If you want to do it the long way, select the image using the magic wand tool, in the select menu, pick modify>border (1px).

In filters, use the blur command to blur the outside edge. Make sure that the layer selected is the layer with the image on it!

Voila, no more jaggies!

Hmmm, not really sure if you know what I mean. Can you see what everyone is talking about with the grey crap, particularly around Ales' arm?

Why does this even happen? Because on my computer and on a friends it's fine, but at school and at another couple friends comps it looks like a two year old cropped it.
