About 3 years ago (Wow! I can't believe it was that long ago), I went to a hostel in Noosa. I was totally stressed out with my job and my life... I had no direction and was contemplating suicide, just for something different.
Fortunately, I decided to have a holliday from my life and went to this hostel. This gave me the chance to be myself, without having to be what others wanted me to be, because everyone was a stranger.
So, this first night, I'm drinking beer on the porch, and the table I was at gathered a group of backpackers from all over the world. Included in that group was an older woman named... well, you don't need to know her name.
Anyway, we got to chatting amongst ourselves (the group that is), and I began to connect with this woman. The next day we hooked up and hung out. Same again on my last day. We spend my last few hours at the beach, swiming and talking and just being together.
Nothing happened, but we connected so well, and it was very hard to leave.
Very hard to leave.
But I did. I got her email address and we've been in touch ever since (though not as often as it once was).

So I came back and my life had changed. I found direction in my life and moved toward it.

(Now, however, I need another break. I can feel it. Just a break from myself again, before I move forward).

But, yeah. I know your pain.

Also, check out the movie 'Lost in Translation'. You'll see you're not alone and that Scarlet Johansan is the bomb!
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.
