My first dex and then some!

Post by Modest »

Well, I landed my first dex today. Woo hoo! And it was my first day trying!!! I did it on like 20th try, I was so amazed. They are fun, I can do them like 1 / 10 now!!!

Today was finals, and I got done with my Art finals early and I wanted to work on a fun little combo, it was...

Forehead Delay > Inside Delay > Step Over > Inside Delay

It is soooo fun to do, I landed another one just a couple minutes ago. I am just in here to grab some water, then I am heading out. Our first 90 degrees day!!! woo hoo!!! :P

well, i got around the worlds... i think it's toe kick > dex > toe kick, and today I just got pixies (?) toe delay > dex > toe delay. I almost got inside delay > dex > inside delay. my girlfriend (who also hacks with me) was like 8O . i also hit two stepovers in a row. i was like 8O off that.

I can do Delay ATW, but not Kick ATW.

As for doing it Flipside, I am learning my delays right now flipside. I have this awesome idea to do Flipside Inside Delay > Flipside Walkover > Inside Delay > Walkover.

Can you clear this up... Is a Toe Delay > Dex > Op Toe Delay a Pixie? And a Toe Delay > Op Dex > Op Toe Delay a Fairy?

Thanks. Sorry if I am bugging you with all these questions, :?

Pixie and Farie are decided by the direction that you dex in. They both start out on the leg that sets the bag. A pixie circles it in to out and a farie circles it out to in. Does this help? Try footbag.org/freestyle

Ok... Op isn't direction of dexterity. It's about the leg with performing dex.... Dexterities can be In-To-Out or Out-To-In

Pixie is Toe > Same In [DEX] > Op Toe [DEX]
And Fairy ist Toe > Same Out [DEX] > Op Toe [DEL]

Yeah, but I want to know if you have to catch it on the opposite toe.

I want to also know the name of this... Inside Delay > Dex [out to in] > Inside Delay... is that just a Around The World, or a different name. Thanks!

It's just ATW set from Inside and caught on Inside.

Props on the moves man!

As far as dexterities go, for clarifications sake you should simply say IN (for in to out dexterity) and OUT (for out to inside dexterity).

A easy way to tell is to imagine a laser light going through the bag at a 90 degree angle from the ground, through the bag and infinately up to the sky.

The dex direction is based on your center. moving your right leg over the bag and in a rightmost direction would be an IN dex, moving the same leg over the bag but in a leftmost direction would be OUT.

Also with naming, DELAY is implied. So saying toe delay is pointless. Just say TOE, or for inside delay say INSIDE. Inside cross body is CLIP.

I think your doing great, especially with walkovers. Those killed my ankles until I started doing Eclipse (a walkover, but dont plant your catching foot).

One rule of thumb, when your starting out and you hit a move, do it the opposite side as well. Dont give up! Do it until you can do it on both sides. This may seem like the same move, but technically, it is two unique contacts.

Keep up the hard work, maybe we will meet at worlds one of these days!
:D

No, it's not Fairy, it's Mirage or Reverse Mirage.
Mirage TOE/CLIP > OP IN > OP TOE
Reverse Mirage TOE > OP OUT > OP TOE

Wow, this gets confusing. Ha ha. :?

I'm going to try one of those Mirages tonight. I just finally hit a Flipside Walkover > Walkover today. And a Inside ATW > Walkover. As for that Eclipse, I am trying those.
