Moves you'll hit before you quit?

Post by Splint »

Several years ago I had 3 moves that I swore I would hit before I ever gave up footbag.

I've hit them all at least once and I feel accomplished, but I certainly don't want to quit just yet and even if I did I don't think the moves would have been enough to say "yeah... I did it".

My moves were:

Flurry
Scorpian's Tail
Bedwetter

I'm working on a new list that will keep me going for a while...(DAMN YOU RIPSTEIN)... assuming injury doesn't take over.

Does anyone else out there have similar goals and have you hit them already?

I've never really thought of it, but for the sake of the thread I'll say I want to hit these moves before I 'retire':

Atomic ducking -whirl, -mirage, -osis.
Sumo
Mobius
Double spinning osis
Ripped warrior
Janiwalker

Yeah I had a similar list - which was

Scorpion's tail
Whirlwind
nemesis

I've now hit the first two both sides, (although they are both still very inconsistant) and think maybe I'll be capable of a furious set soon (I may have hit Janiwalker a few times, but I'm not sure if I got both of the first two dexes or not)

These days I don't think in terms of single tricks though. I don't really have any particular goals but if I were to set one I guess it would be something along the lines of either hitting a run with 10 unique fives or just hitting 10 consecutive unique fives.

However I can never imagine myself giving up footbag.

My goal tricks for footbag keep changing... so i'll never be able to quit (addicted!?). My friend Jared though said he would quit if Kevin (qphox) ever hit scorpion's tail. Jared being the one who initially started teaching kevin footbag.

My list is:

Ripstein
Montage
Janiwalker
Genesis (and why not Nemesis)
Marius
Foor Processor
Cheese Processor  (lol)
a new move (any, the point is that I'd be the first)

But I won't quit before I'm not able even to walk anymore :P

I hope to hit these moves before I'm done with footbag (which probably won't come for a long time!):

Ripstein
Whirr
Janiwalker
PS Whirl
Montage
Phoenix Swirl

I want to be able to hit these moves consistently!

Totally. This move would be sick. Lynton's tried it a few times, but I'm not sure how close he got. I think this move would be one of the best moves ever hit if you could do it.

When I first started freestyle my list was as follows:

Ripwalk
Torque
Scorpion's Tail
Blurry Whirl

I'm not sure what my list is like now... I haven't really thought about it to be honest.

EDIT - Ok I thought about it a little and my list looks something like this:

Spinning Mobius
Nuke Mobius
Atomic Scorpion's Tail - (that would be such a sick trick)
Stepping Montaging Swirl
- Byrin Wylie
