Your New (and renewed) Modified Crew

Howdy to all.
As you all probably know by now, Rob and Chris have decided to move away from modified.ca and have reliquished their Admin status.

So here's the new line-up:

Admin:
Myself...Brad Kaplan

The Mod Squad:
Brad Nelson..Group Moderator
Bob Glasser
Jeremy O'Wheel (welcome back)
Erik Chan (welcome back)

Something new to the forum is that the moderators now have the ability to moderate the Discussion threads. Formerly that wasn't the case and some threads were allowed to get way out of hand. The Discussion threads will be VERY loosely moderated. The moderators are just there to keep things from getting ridiculously out of control.

Pretty cool. Also glad to see that Chan and Jeremy are back, although I'll miss Rob and Chris.

Is Jer still going to be listed as an Admin?

I don't know exactly what happened to Chris. I think due to a few clashes he got disenchanted with some people on the board. Rob simply told me that he removed Chris' Admin abilities before leaving himself, whereup he asked me to remove his own Admin status.

Jer is still listed as an Admin, though I don't think anyone's heard from him in over a year, and I personally have never met or e-mailed with him. Ultimately the site belongs to him so I'm sure he's out there somewhere backing up data and all that. Hopefully he's still freestyling too.

Anyway, I hope we all enjoy much peace and footbag prosperity in this next chapter at ye olde modified.ca

While we're on the topic of the board, why can't we edit anymore? It's rarely ever abused, and you can tell when it is. It's just nice to be able to edit...

This place isn't turning into .org is it?

Well I only asked because I know Rob used to be in contact with him, and I think that we should at least have contact information with him if something goes wrong.

You should be able to edit everywhere except the Discussion threads.

Brad, somehow we can only edit in the footbag sections... The entire Just Chilling sections (Kicking Circle also) are not editable now. Is that what you meant by Discussion sections? Or did you just mean the actual Discussion section, and that we should be able to edit on the Kicking Circle?

Yup sure enough the editing abilities were changed in the Kicking Circle. I changed them back so you can now edit. The Discussion threads will stay uneditable, because that is a highly charged debate area and if you're going to say something you should be ready to stand by it.

I agree with Jeremy on editing your posts. Only edit them if you want to change spelling, grammar, or to add something useful at the bottom.
It's one thing if you edit it and change it all around before someone else replies to it, but if you go back and do it after a reply it has a two-fold consequence. 1-the people who post after it look stupid. 2-you look stupid.

I don't imagine it will become a HUGE issue, but if it does then editing can be removed again. But I don't want that to happen, if for no other reason then that some of ya'll can't spell worth a shit and you at least need a shot at fixing your words
