THX1138 is the first feature film made by George Lucas.

That site is a bit weird, but quite interesting. If I have time I'll check it out some more.

I watched the preview and that looks really good! I'll definitely have to try and find out where I can see it.

I dont know if its just me but did Minority report rip off this movie because the plots sound sorta the same.

Good point. I LOVED Minority Report. This trailer made me think more of Equilibrium. I didn't like Equilibrium very much. It was okay -- the acting bothered me a lot. Everyone told me that it was supposed to be that way because the characters feel no emotion but I still felt that a lot of it was really poorly done. Really neat concept though!

THX1138 looks so good!!! When I looked at the site and watched the trailer I thought it was a new movie. (Well -- until I saw closeup photos of some props). I love the site.

"Minority Report" was written by Phillip K. Dick and first published in 1956, THX 1138 was released in 1971.

Has anyone seen THX1138? I have, and I thought it was horrible.

Take care,

It's much more 1984 than minority report. But it was the first movie to really take that anti utopian future theme and make it into a motion picture. Now a days everyone is doing it.

That being said, I wouldn't have posted this if I didn't think it was a good movie.

Where will THX 1138 be playing on September 10? Here:

Cinerama, Seattle WA
Lloyd Center, Portland OR
Metreon, San Francisco CA -- Digital
Shattuck Cinemas, Berkley CA
ArcLight, Los Angeles CA -- Digital
Irvine Spectrum, Irvine CA -- Digital
Mira Mesa, San Diego CA -- Digital
Pavillion, Denver CO -- Digital
Arbor Cinema, Austin TX
Magnolia, Dallas/Plano TX -- Digital
Soutwind, Lawrence KS
Eden Prairie, Minneapolis MN -- Digital
Westgate, Madison WI
River East, Chicago IL -- Digital
State, Ann Arbor MI
Beachwood 11, Athens GA
AMC Lennox, Columbus OH
Ritz Five, Philadelphia PA
Empire, New York NY -- Digital
Boston Commons, Boston MA -- Digital
AFI, Silver Spring MD -- Digital

If your lucky enough to live in one of these city's, it would definately be worth the $10 to see in theaters, in my opinion.

The movie is intended to be mostly visuals and audio, so despite what the trailer may make it look like it isn't an action thriller like the matrix or Minority Report. And the story is pretty simple so it might get long, but I think with it being re-mastered it should look and sound really good.

Probably not for everyone, but better than paying for another crappy hollywood movie that looks just like the movie you saw the week before.

getting a tad off topic but the original story line in Minority report is considerably different in the short story by Phillip K Dick than in the movie. The book is all about a paradox in reading the future - while the movie was about the morality involved in the pre crime system.

Spoiler Alert

In the short story the main character actualy carries out the murder that it is predicted he would carry out to prove that the pre crime system works and to keep it from being stopped.
