Which to cut?

I have a pair of adidas campus that I want to do the toe box mod on. It has two sets of stitching one at the end of the eyelet wall and the other one is where the eyelet stitching stops and then goes down to the rubber around the bottom of the shoes. Should I only cut the stitching along the eyelet wall?

I am not too familiar with the stitching set up on campus' but the idea is to get the walls vertical. If you lose a large amount of structural integrity by cutting out something then dont bother, they put the stitches in places for a reason. Still, you can get away with alot and still have functional shoes.

ok, from what I can see it looks like you may not have to cut anything at all. the picture seems to show the eyelet-flap-thingy unattached to the actual toe area, thus you'd really only have to modify your lacing set up.

First off, I would be shocked if those shoes turned out to be good for freestyle. The toe is terribly rounded and the modification would be set back too far on the shoe to make any realy difference.

However, if you are determined, I would start by only doing the upper cut, then try that out for a bit and see how you like it. If you only bought the shoes for footbag and don't care about destroying them then go ahead and do the lower cut and see how that works for ya. Try only cutting a little bit at a time.

Yah,bought them just for freestyle. I just modded the stripes off and it made a big diffrence. I can flex the shoe more, easier to feel the bag and the shoe is lighter. I think cutting the stitching at the end of the eyelet wall might work. I tried just lacing them different and it worked alright, better then when laced normally.

I know I post on REALLY old forums but I believe that the campuses are just as much or even more expensive than Lavers... I was at footlocker.com and saw some lavers for 40. Campuses should probably be in that price range....
Though my shoes are similar to yours... I AM planning to buy a pair of lavers before the end of june..... of 05......
