I don't really have time to screw around begging everyone like so many people have so many times in the past.
Suffice it to say that over the years I have seen too many people saying they would love to see footbag grow into this great sport or even to stay the way it is now or whatever. Then I see a post like Ellis' saying that only 35 pros and 10 (TTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN) Amateurs are registered for Worlds. I am ashamed, now and for my actions in the past. There are well over a dozen people organizing this massive event. They are digging deep into their own pockets and giving too much of their own time for us not to help support them financially. They are no better off than you or I, but they do it for us anyway.
You MUST pre-register for Worlds. If you do not plan to compete then here are a couple of things you can still do to support Worlds.

Option 1) Register as a competitor. It will cost you $50 for Pro or $25 for Amateur. Just because you register doesn't mean you have to compete and if you do then NO you will probably not beat Vasek, Ryan or Pete, but that doesn't mean you are throwing your money away. You are still supporting FOOTBAG, possibly for the first time.

Option 2) Instead of registering to compete, register as a Silver, Gold, or other IFPA donator. This too will cost you $50 or $25. If you choose to Donate directly to the IFPA the donation is tax deductible.

Option 3 ) At the VERY least make sure that you are signed up as an IFPA member it's 10 friggin' dollars a year. You want to know where your money goes (lord knows I've seen enough posts about it) well this is it. It goes to sponsoring IFPA sanctioned events like WORLDS.

Now...some of you are sitting there saying that you just don't have the money and there's a very good chance that that's bullshit. Stop drinking Starbucks for 5 days and you'll have the Amateur fee. Seriously, think about how much money you blow on all sorts of ridiculous shit. $25 probably fell out of your pocket last week. Right now is the most important time to sacrifice just a little bit and help those who are helping you.

Enough...Go ask your girlfriend...go ask mom and dad...go ask your husband or wife or whomever you need to ask and just go and do it.

When I was new to this sport, the sport sent people from the next city over to drive through a snowstorm and pick me up so that I might get to kick with the world champion in yet another city. It was snowing very hard.

When I was still new to this sport, the sport provided people who made my travel plans for me, and even leant me money, so that I might go to a tournament hundreds of miles away. When I arrived, though unknow to all in that city, the sport gave me a place to stay on somebody's couch for a couple nights so that I would not have to pay for a hotel.

At my first World Championships the sport produced the inventor of the hacky sack. He bought me an ice cream cone, and a really good gourmet ice cream at that.

Aside from these specifics, my sport has brought me good friends, good times, good excercise, and many other things.

Last year, Angelo, the sport tried to bring you good Pink Floyd bootlegs, and all you had to do was show up, but you didn't (I finally found that one really good one, by the way, that I was afraid I had lost...).

Heres the thing: what you get out of this sport is relative to what you put in (I'd estimate it to be a significant magnification of what you put in, but surely its different for everybody). Why don't you try putting something (positive) in and then see what the sport gives to you.

Am I taking you too seriously? Yeah, I know I probably am, but I felt like saying something.

Shaun, here's the link to the Worlds website that I gave above. Click on the "register" link and it will take you to footbag.org and prompt you to enter your footbag.org membership name and password. Once you do that you will be able to register for worlds and order a t-shirt. I'm not a 100% sure, but I think you at least have to register as an amateur in order to be able to purchase a t-shirt.

when you register as an IFPA member, you can ask for a t-shirt..
