Anybody else ever read this? I sat down on my deck today and read it straight through. All I can say is wow

What's it about? This could turn into a good book thread...

Anyone ever read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card? My favorite book ever.... also check out "Miles"... Miles Davis' Autobiography. VERY good.

This one is a collection of Ginsbergs poems. One of the great works to come out of the whole "beat" movement

Also way up there :

Naked Lunch - William burroughs
On the Road- Jack Kerouac
Dharma Bums- Jack Keroua

On the road and Dharma bums are actual novels, not poems. And naked lunch.. Well Naked Lunch is naked luch. Only way to get it is to read it

Hmm sounds interesting. I think I'll stop by the Library tomorrow and see if it's there.

Sphere (Michael Crichton) was probably the fastest book ive read

Secret Life of Salvador Dali, Im only in the very beginning of the book, but it is amazing to see into the mind of a lunatic/genius

I've read Howl, and yeah, my sentiments were also along the lines of 'wow'. Very good stuff.

The only Allen Ginsberg I've come across is the song "Hadda been playing on the jukebox" - by Rage Against The Machine - which is a poem (or based on a poem) by Ginsberg. Very cool!

It's interesting that when there's a topic about a particular book and author/poet people comment on any book they've ever read.... :?

They didn't have either of those so I got:

Death and Fame: Last Poems (1993-1997) by him...

and 3 Jazz-Related books.
