Worlds is near

Post by HooD »

I'm just totally pumped about Worlds (25th annual comp !!!) and going to Montreal. Let's just talk about what all will be going down there, the shred, city life, night life, footbag merchandise, the players, and anything to do with WORLDS 2004 !!!!

I'm going to a Xiu Xiu show on the 31st about 2 miles from the host hotel.

Edit: Or not... I just realized that the 31st was Saturday ;-]

I had a horrifying dream last night.

I was in montreal and doing something of some sort and we were passing this big event building. The security guard took it upon himself to remind me that it was 9:45 PM and that I was missing the start of worlds. (apparently this was the first day and it started earlier in the day) I FREAKED OUT! I ran into the building and got put in this waiting room. Everyone had lavers on, it was bliss.

I frantically tore my clothes off and got into my short shorts. I think I was awaiting some form of registration. Sadly the dream ended there with me still waiting. I awoke feeling so relieved that I hadn't fucked up.

Well I think it's safe to say that the impending excitement is really having it's impact on me. I think about worlds almost always.

I am most excited for this scenerio to happen:

Me: hey dude, wanna play some footbag?
Dude at world's: yes.

I think it'll be interesting finally kicking with people I only know on modified. That and the people I already know, it'll be like a huge footbag reunion.

Then onto the subject of food. THere is a place near there, called the Wok, phew, tasty tasty tasty huge meals, eat there ! And also the 99 cent pizza on the corner of this one street, so good !!! I'm sure there are tons of other places, but when I think of food in Montreal, those are the only 2 I can remember.

Johnny, what do you think, OF COURSE WE"RE GONNA SHRED ! And for a whole week !!!! Good food, good times, and some sweet ass arcades over there. I can't wait to see what new games they have, their arcades are about 57 times better than ours, since the highlight of ours is a dear hunting game and air hockey -_-

Skill level doesn't matter, there will be sooo many people on the same level as you. It's the BEST place to learn. If you have a way to get there, don't hesisate, go to Worlds. This will be my first Worlds, but I'm guessing it will be like the mother of all tournies, and in one of the best cities ever.

this looks like a good time to post the link to an important announcement concerning attendance and registration, which I'm sure some of you missed. Just look on the worlds website, and you'll see it in the News. http://www.footbag.org/worlds2004

Soon my friends.

Man, I can't freakin wait!

I am trying to get in touch with the person that is driving a bunch of people down there, but if all else fails, I will spend a whole paycheque to get a freakin train.

As for lodging, I think I will be staying in a local hostel ($25 a night, you can't go wrong, assuming that I will pull an all nighter playing footbag)

About food, man, you CAN NOT go wrong with 99c pizza.

About the canadian accent and the canadian girls, dont even worry about your accent cause chicks dig it.

MAN IM SO FREAKIN STOKED!
(If you see a guy wearing a .hack// shirt wandering around the city looking lost, please drop a footbag in front of me and help a brother out?)
