Well I just got a small job working some construction-type deal, so I should actually have money to order this... I'd like to see it... haven't gotten a new video since JS2.

Hello Everyone...

I just got some somewhat unfortunate news from
Dexter regarding The Champion's League:

"I guess it will be another week till I send it to everyone."

I just got this this morning. This means AT LEAST 2 weeks
until it is available. It will just make it all that more enticing,
having to wait...

Peace.

plus at least one week for it to get to australia and another week for Ian to send it to me. So I'll be waiting at least a month - probably 6 weeks.

It's cool. I'm sure people would rather a finished copy than a half-arsed job.

Hey everyone, I have a bit of bad news:
The Champion's League will not be happening
until AFTER Worlds (I am not 100% sure
of this, but it's my best guess). I just received the
DVD yesterday, and sadly, was not able
to view it. I got to see about the first 20
minutes and then it froze up. A copy that
was sent for distribution in Finland also
had similar problems. I still have not heard
back from Dexter, so maybe he has a suggestion -
it just doesn't look promising.

I will keep the list informed.

Peace.

It could be the labeling on a clear-top disk again.
That was the problem with the skipping with 'the move'.

Just a thought.

Oh, and as a future reference - If you're planning on making a movie to be released on DVD... Don't skimp on the product. Get a good DVD to save issues down the track. Sure, you won't make as much profit, but you'll be loved all the more when people can actually watch your movie.

I would like you to know that I have no intention of skimping on reproduction. TCL will have full color imaged DVD's in a box case, with color inserts, on quality DVD's.

Also, there was some text written on the disc itself, but I'm not sure if it was a "clear-top" disc or not for sure (I will find out though).

It turns out that the DVD is actually (at least I'm about 95% sure) in PAL format. Up until yesterday, I didn't know that DVD's COULD be in PAL. I've found someone that is an expert on these issues. He looked at the DVD today but couldn't give me a final conclusion as he had other commitments. He did say that there were some major obstacles,
including having the disc recorded on +R in stead of -R (or vice-versa, I'm still a bit confused on the whole thing myself)... nothing conclusive until tomorrow...

I'll keep you updated - If it does work out, I should be able to Ship
by Tuesday... For those of you that got your copies from Eric, he is getting his copies from me... so a bit longer.

I'm more hopeful than my last post, but not holding my breath...

Peace.

aaahh man! i might PM eric and see if he can send my other videos... cos i ordered like 3 others along with CL.. they must be just sitting there waiting to go :?
oh well.. not much we can do... burnt DVDs are always a headache... the label thing makes no difference to me, any burnt DVD still skips like a bastard in any of my DVD players... my copy of The Move actually got worse with the label removed...what are the odds of a VHS version? cos ppl are gonna have all kinds of issues watching these videos, unless Honza wants to have them produced in a factory or something $$$

i think +R is the preferred format for movies, and -R is more for data etc.

If the DVDs are in PAL format, can the people in PAL countries (ie Australia) get their copies?

PAL is very good for us...

Actually, DVD-R tends to be the best for playing on regular set-top boxes. I only plan to be watching it on my computer (since I don't own a TV) so any format (DVD+/-R or PAL/NTSC) works for me.
